If you feel like taking care of your parents is like a paying off a debt owed to them, then you’re already in the wrong mindset to be in as a child of your parents. Giving back, caring for them, treating them, etc. should never be an obligation, it should be out of gratitude and love. Parents sacrifice their physical, and sometimes their mental health in order to raise a child. That’s just the fact about bringing in another human into this world. Not to mention the financial aspects of raising one. They do this to ensure their kid is raised with the right morals and behavior to be successful in their future. A child that is raised by loving parents will grow up to be loving in return.

This is sum what related but I m in college and what keeps me going through each day is remembering I want to start a family in the next 10 years. So when I do something like homework I remind myself that I m working to graduate so I can provide for my future family.
