  • As most fans of Girls Und Panzer are well aware, sportsmanship is one of the central themes of the show. So much show that it's truly the best show of any kind when it comes to displaying good sportsmanship. But it goes deeper than that.
    In this video, I'll be taking a look at how Girls Und Panzer shows the culture that good sportsmanship fosters, and how it helps everyone involved in the sport improve, and uplifts the sport in general.

    It's honestly Quite sad that people still under-appreciate the writing of GuP

      The brilliance of the writing is that it simple and complex at the same time. It is simple in the fact that it is easy to follow. It is complex in that when you rewatch you catch little things that you missed in the first watch.

      I agree. People unfairly boils it down to just cute girls doing cool stuff. It definitely isn't just that. Of all the girls doing war stuff, GuP is the best out there by a long shot and it has a lot to do with its writing and execution.

    GuP got me through a really rough and dark time in my life. It also changed me and made me a better person. I suppose it's why I'm so sad that it is coming to an end.
    If you ever do character analysis vids, might I request the fair and pretty Momo for one? :)

    Excellent video again. I wish real sports would take these lessons to heart. Today sports have become political and it is more important to know what party they support.

    Another amazing video. Everything you said was completely true and I couldn't agree more on everything in thus video and the previous part. The writing here and the sportsmanship is phenomenal. Ooarai basically singlehandedly changed Senshado forever from a very strict and riged sport where might makes right, into a free sport where everyone can be who they want and everyone can have fun. The sportsmanship in Der Film is the best where Saunders, who helped teach Ooarai about how great Senshado can be if everyone is sporty about it and playing for fun, rather than just yo win, came in to rescue Ooarai's tanks from being taken away with their only request being that Ooarai doesn't quit Senshado. All this because Renta, the only antagonist, wasn't being very sportsmanship and just pulled the rug out from under Ooarai after the friendly 2v2 match they had and was going to take away everything, their home, their sport, and most importantly their tanks, their best friends and members of both their team and school. And later everyone from the first season who fought against Ooarai along with Chihatan, and Keizuko, newly introduced in this movie, all joined forces with Ooarai to help save their school. And succeed they did. And Das Finale continues this with Chihatan, Pravda, Anzio, and Kuromorimine all growing from their encounters with Ooarai. Erika especially thanks to Maho being gone to Germany, forced to follow the original Nishizumi style of her mother, and telling Erika to find her own Senshado. And the little moments of sportsmanship between Fukuda and Duck team and Miho and Alice were perfect examples of sportsmanship. Miho and Alice were originally opponents fighting in their mother's conflict of Senshado style, but became friends after facing each other and gaining the other's respect. Their mutual love of Boko helped out too. And for Fukuda and Duck team, they started off as allies in the 2v2 match against Pravda and St Gloriana, then teamed up to help fight off All Stars University's team, only to then show all of their time and development in their fight in Das Finale. And the handing over of the volleyball at the end of the match, and their meal shared together, was perfect sportsmanship. No hostility, just friendship and admiration.
    I really do love Girls und Panzer, the story is beautiful, the writing is amazing, and the message is perfect. I'm really struggling to say more, partially since you said everything I could say about the subject of sportsmanship in Girls und Panzer, so I'll just end this here, with a very long comment to read.
    I really can't wait for more analysis videos in the future, and I hope you take a look at individual/small groups of characters, like you did with Anzu, Momo, and Yuzu of the student council. All of the girls are amazing and their stories are each beautiful and perfectly written in their own way. You teased up a bit here and there in this video, and in the previous part 1 of this along with all your other analysis videos on GuP, with the stuff about how the girls grew and developed over the course of the anime. So please do individual/group analysis videos for the girls. I'd really love that. Honestly, it could be any girl and I'd love it all the same. Just please do it, it'd be a great service to us in the community.
    Also, I hope you cam reach a thousand subscribers soon, I'm rooting for you to reach your 1k sub goal. Until next time Ascendant Fiction, take care.

      I think that when Erika loses, (probably against St. Gloriana), she will be teary-eyed with Maho and say that her senshado was not right. But Maho will comfert her by saying that she did well despite her loss and that her senshado IS good. I think that would be a great end to her character arc.

    • @inductivegrunt94
      @inductivegrunt94 Před rokem +2

      @Charles Sapp Seems rather harsh. But I kinda agree. Erika will lose against St. Gloriana, so that Ooarai can face them in the finals to let the whole series come fun circle, but she would not cry about it. She'd swallow her pride and accept her defeat. And she would tell Maho of this, and Maho would congratulate Erika on finding her own Senshado. Erika will lose, but she will grow thanks to it so she won't be the purely prideful girl she was back in the main first season before Der Film and Maho leaving for Germany.

      @@inductivegrunt94 I too believe that Darjeeling will win. (Although I think that part 4 will end like the Oarai v Pravda fight where we do not know if Darjeeling or Erika will win. It is amazing how the show writers were able to make an unlikeable character into a sympathetic one.

    • @inductivegrunt94
      @inductivegrunt94 Před rokem +2

      @Charles Sapp Yeah, it really shows just how great the writers are and how much they care for all the main characters for each of the schools. I'm not sure if it'll play out exactly like how you said it, but it could be a surprise battle where we don't know who'll win until the very end, much like the Ooarai vs Pravda match like you said. Who knows what could happen. Alice did say she wanted to face Miho again, and her tank is a British Centurion 1, so it's very likely that she'll join St Gloriana and help them defeat Kuromorimine in a surprise twist and let St Gloriana fight Ooarai in the finals. St Gloriana only has the Churchill as their strongest tank, against Panthers and King Tigers, so the Centurion would tip the scales and balance out both sides. Especially after the display Alice did in Der Film soloing around a third of the Ooarai alliance before facing Miho and Maho in a duel.

      @@inductivegrunt94 Don't forget, Alice was in a Sherman in that match she was in before the Oarai match. As good of a tank commander as she is, she could make any tank OP. I think that at the end of part 6, Alice will have a 1v1 with Miho, which will be epic, and then Momo will have to face Darjeeling alone. Or Erika if I am wrong about St. Gloriana.

      I think that the reason most people think it is a simple show is because they review it after 1 watch. The brilliance of the writing is that it simple and complex at the same time. It is simple in the fact that it is easy to follow. It is complex in that when you rewatch you catch little things that you missed in the first watch. The story is way more complex if you dive in deep.
