Ready to see welkers get the rain and a 50 bushel peas harvest
Amen brother!! They deserve it
Would be amazing!
No with being stuck 3 times 60 bushels on the whole farm
What a family. Your Dad raised his sons right. God
, family and country. God bless.
Good news. Thank you for sharing your days. It is not fun when equipment breaks down. We appreciate your honesty. We have been praying for rain for you all. May the Welkers be blessed. 😊
Happy for the outcome on the injectors. THANKS to your buddy for the loan. Stay safe and may you get the rain as needed. Love hugs and prayers.
Big Bud dudes = good peeps. Thank Sir!!
Leg Arms, those kids are so adorable. The boys look like you, and Karen looks like Mom. A wonderful family. Nice to see all the smiles.
Happy that both Buds are back up and running. So nice to have such a great neighbor. I know you would do the same for your neighbors.
Please give us an update after all the dust settles - really interested in the cause of the injector failure and if the rebuilder stood behind his work. 💪👍🏼
So happy you got both buds back in the field. Glad your friends could help!
What a special friend to loan out his injectors! Farmers are there for each other.
Was awesome seeing pops back smiling in this video. You could tell he was understandably stressing a little last video. Glad everything was able to work out!
Glad to see you’re up and running, don’t think it’s the operator of fuel, possibly wrong calibration on injectors as it happened after the injectors were overhauled. Had a set for a KTA 600 done as well as the fuel pump and the wrong calibration was put in them, shut the engine down at 800 H P on the dyno and found the injectors and fuel pump weren’t compatible, one was low flow and the other was high flow. Sad to say it’s getting harder to find someone to work on them. This day and age the mechanics need a computer to tell them what’s wrong. Always loved the challenge to fix the problem. Praying for rain for the farmers.
That is the biggest smile on Bobs face I have seen in a while. Thanks
We all have folks that live next door/nearby, but not every one has “neighbors/buddies” like this to help you out in a crisis. It may be a dusty road on the plains of MT, but at the same time it’s a two way street when it comes to helping your neighbors. Thankfully those type of roads pass through this area too.
Good luck going forward. As we say here, “Rain makes Grain”.
Two things.
Outdoor shop with barely a wind and dust blowing up. Awesome.
Babysitting in the Big Bud: Priceless!!!!
Thanks Guys.
Cheers.
Gotta love the Welkers. Even facing challenges they face everything with serenity and a smile, a lesson worth learning. Prime example of honest working people and genuinely loving every minute of it.
Votes for a bountiful and productive 2023 harvest. God bless. Greetings from 🇵🇹
Glad you got the buds back in service. Good luck on the rest of planting season.
Me too, and together we pray for a successful season.
I’m so glad that you got both of the big bud s going and the peas are almost done
One of the few channels that shows both sides of farming. God bless you guys and thank you for being truthful.
So glad you got the Buds going again. Speaking as a grandpa it is my opinion the best part of the video was the kids. On to wheat and more equipment problems.
Love your family and your channel. Appreciate having your dad around and being able to spend that much time with him. Life is short
Praying that the Welkers get rain now I know what it feels like to be in a drought cause last year Missouri was in a drought and now we’re in a drought again and it sucks
I hope praising the Lord isn't against CZcams policy. You have a lot to be thankful for. When everything works out and rain is on the way, never forget the One who gives Good gifts. Many of us are praying for your farm and families. God bless.
Glad to see you overcame those challenges. It has to be satisfying to be able to diagnose and repair those hiccups. Best wishes for the coming season. Love your videos.
Glad to see people helping each other out.
We are needing rain here also in west central Ohio glad to see your Big Buds running again
I think I’d be looking for a different shop to rebuild my injectors next time.
Thankfully your buddy was able to help you out and you know a few good mechanics!
What a relief - Glad you got those tractors up and running! Here's to getting all the rain you guys need too.
Glad to see replacing the Injectors fixed the issue's, and you lads are able to keep on seeding! I wish you all a great crop, and carefree harvest!
GREAT!! Good to see the Budds and the Welkers all running well!! This video makes ME feel good. Thank you.
Praying that it runs the opposite this year from the last 2 seasons for you guys. Rough start, but great end.
and their family always do very well the work on the farm.
Glad to see you got your Big Bud injectors straightened out. Prayers for a great harvest this year
Good friends make the world go round. Nobody can do it all themselves
Good to have great friends! Mr Bob's full of breaking news! Love it!
Nice working conditions in your shop! warm, plenty of fresh air, and excellent lighting!
Glad to see your operation back up and running. That many Issues is very stressful but you guys pull together and persevere. Get-R-Done.
Glad to hear everything was sorted out.
My mechanic refused to put reman injectors in my equipment.
He said he had to much trouble with them the last years
The injectors in those old Cummins PT fuel systems have always been problematic. Little bit of carbon gets into the tip and then the plunger doesn't seat and seal correctly anymore and they leak and torch pistons. I don't miss all the constant injector adjustments that were required to keep them in tune, shimming cam follower boxes to set the timing, and blown aneroid diaphrams on those PT pumps with the old NT and KT series engines. Not to mention loose cylinder liners that got cavitation holes in them, and several revisions of print-o-seal head gaskets and head bolts that Cummins went thru to try to keep the top end from leaking coolant in those engines. There's a fix for that - replace it with a Cat 3406E six and a quarter and you'll never have to work on it again and it will outlast the rest of the tractor.
They are great when they are running but that goes for any engine. I see cat repowers in our future.
@@WelkerFarms I agree 100%. Cat built the first true million mile engine for heavy trucks with the 3406. They remain to this day the most bullet-proof engine ever built by the human race. I got 3406's and C15's, and C18 in my Cat Challenger track tractors, and semi tractors, and they just run. They might be a little heavier than the Cummins, but in a farm tractor that's a good thing.
@@chrisandkristin a friend of ours puts c16 engines in his Buds set at 600hp. They are beasts! We should be on the lookout for some engines in case that day comes. Glad you've had great success with your cats!
@@WelkerFarms 3406E thru C18 are all the same block and main bearings. It's just a matter of what crank, cam and head, cylinder pak, turbocharging and injector combination, and flash file in the ECM you want to use. For instance the regular 3406E is a 891 cube, but the 3406E 1MM serial number is a 964 cube and is the same thing as a C-16. Of all of them the C-15 (notice the dash designation) and C15 are the most common in both single and compound turbo configurations. While the C18 I have in my Challenger was never available in a production truck, there is plenty of them that have been built for trucks. But they are more common in marine, G-drive and off-road equipment up to 1,000 hp. The C18 is a torque monster with its 7.2" stroke. The one I have in my MT875 is 630hp @ 1,800 and we pull an 11-shank JD 2730 disc ripper, or 60ft field cultivator, with it. I'm pretty sure the driveline in the Bud would handle a detuned C18 too if you programmed it with the flash file to limit the torque to around 1,700 lb-ft in the lower gears.
I hope that injector rebuild shop makes things right. I would be furious.
Was thinking the exact same thing ! And there is no way I would trust them to touch anything again.
Very happy to hear things worked out! 🙏
Good afternoon from Arizona! You and your fam are in my prayers glad to see the issue has been resolved busy day have to watch later. God bless you guys!
It’s great to have good neighbors and friends that help out! Thank you for another great video!
What a weight off you folks with getting the fix right on the 600 cummins. Back in the 1970s I had worked with the KT Cummins in Heavy trucks
Right on!!!
Glad you guys got them up and goin quick!!!
Nice, glad you got the injectors sorted, great of your friend to help out.
So good to see the BIG BUDS back in the fields, running smooth and back to work! Praying you get the rain you need, when you need it, so your crops grow and produce excellent yields! Thank You for another great video! Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy and happy! 👍
i great to see things are chuggin right along for ya's . i'm extremely impressed by the technical and mechanical sides of your operation.
Watching your videoes really brings a lift to my week, God bless you all! Hoping for an amazing harvest this year!!
In your case my personal opinion is to buy new injectors, provided that the company that rebuilt them hopefully will give you some sort of compensation or discount.
Glad to see the Buds running again, it’s an impressive sight to see in the fields.
Have a safe day. Love the kids with you in the cab. Happy the peas are done. 🙏
Glad both tractors are up and running. Wonder if since both did it at the same time if you had a fuel contamination issue.
What a start!😢 Am then to rub salt in the wound, Nick has the pump starter rope in his hand. Thank God you got everything back together and seed in the ground😊
I was up in kalispell this last week delivering lumber. Was thinking about you guys and praying that yall get your planting finished!
These old tractors are so cool? I remember being 14 in 1977 and sitting with my little brother looking through Steiger sales brochures at Steiger Panthers and Tigers and dreaming of one day driving one of those monsters! We moved to the big city in 1979 and left the farm. He passed in 1980 at the age of 18. God rest his soul 😪
Good way to tell how good of people you and your family are! When friends are willing to go the extra mile to help you out!
Glad you got them running again. Hope the crew / family and you are doing well. God Bless.
So glad you’re up and running great video. Adorable kids love seeing them
So happy for your family. Prayers do get answered. Stay positive, lots of good energy coming your way.
It is nice to hear that you have such good friends. I am sure you are a good friend to him too.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Wow and wow. So glad to hear the big buds times two are up and running again. Bad injectors!!!!!! Glad your mechanic got that figured out. How wonderful you were able to find some replacement injectors and the mechanic got them in. I hope the company that rebuilt the injectors will be fair with you in the process.
You are up and running again and that is just great news. Finish the seeding and go to wheat seed and get the seed in the ground.
Can’t tell you how worried I was about your situation BUT in the end everything got resolved and you are running again. Prayers were answered.
Go get em Welkers. Glad you are going again.
Thanks for letting us know.
My blessings to you all.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
I hope the company that rebuilt your injectors at least pay for the mechanics time happy things got sorted out you have to introduce us to the friend that has 5 big buds I would love to see those
Is still strange both go out at once but only 1 worked on that far, maybe something got into fuel n caused issue?!?!?!
Glad to see buds out running again!!! Keep up the great work and love for the land!!
Glad you guys got the Big Buds up and running again. Best wishes for you in the rest of your planting season. Really dry up here in NY, praying and hoping for some rain soon. Take care Welkers!
Thanks for the video guys. Pain about the injectors, but at least the Buds are easy to work on 👍 Unlike some of the newer junk with endless emission crap everywhere and half of the cylinders inside the cab. Praying for a good season and plenty of rain for you.
Absolutely Awesome!!! Welker Farms and the Welker Family are Absolutely Awesome! Praying for your health, safety and prosperity! God bless you each and every one!
Great Job Fellows, Yahoo , Injectors sorted out, Back in the Saddle Again, Cheers & Best Wishes Trevor.W.Bacelli. Biloela Qld Australia.👍
You folks have been a "extended" family for this old man with no family till you took me into your hearts! I will start my book length comment with a heavy or large.. you fill the missing word that describes my thank you for even considering me as a family member!!
I am going to say now that this video lands right into my wheelhouse because since you've sat on the fenders of a 600 KTA Cummins engine, I don't have to explain size differences. I did a lot of fabrication in the southeast alaska islands and built things I figured if they worked only one half day, it was a success. This 600 engine is not a automotive size engine, although a powerful but to my knowledge, not built anymore, a engine just loaded with torque. I (the company I worked for) needed a very powerful truck to move equipment to different locations in the woods to move trees to where they could be hauled. I did not have the option of using two engines in one rig to move stuff so my plan if successful would be to make a engine powerful enough in a special built truck. The six hundred is longer and just bigger than any other engine in most cases. So with cabin off of the truck I was building, built my own frame rails, mounts, transmission adapters, .... all said in smaller words, MAKE IT FIT, into a small truck when you say regular truck and not a off highway truck that could use some huge engine. Before I forget, if you haven't used Area Diesel Service, its time to look into their quality service. I actually built a 600 KTA engine from parts and assembled it into a old Kenworth, a A model of and about mid seventies. I double rail and extended frame sat the engine in the truck and then set it up with a working good retarder for extra braking power. The yarder it moved in the woods had to go several miles to each site for hauling logs from the woods... it had multiple drum lines set up for a "skyline" and no, this is not a version of going snipe hunting, a skyline is a machine that uses a cable system suspended between two mountains, has a few miles of very large cable that holds another yarder suspended in the air to move trees from landing to landing and then to a loading site. I probably could write a book on just the many things that went into making a automotive truck into a off highway power sized rig to move the big yarder into different locations. The rig had enough power to now move equipment but not to stop it. I sat up a smaller rig with just air compressors to feed enough air for the brake chambers on the lowboy truck as well as using another rig weighted down right so it could also be a braking system for the main rig. The yarder made by Cyprus in canada cost at that time, one million dollars. You do the math on a machine that cost that much fifty years ago. At that time, my shirt size was in the fifties, I had a color in my hair, and most of my teeth, could see a nat doing nat things on a fence post a hundred yards away plus hear the conversation of two fleas at half that distance... well I am telling it so a little (lot) exaggeration might be involved. No jokes, a big boy young enough to still get back into the service, and for the most part, missing that part of my life, when I was most of my body parts original. I agree Nick... small engines that do this kind of work definitely need a starter on them. Maybe some day you can cannibalize the families riding lawnmower engines or just the stuff used to make them key start/LOL. I know also what it feels like to see our kids growing up to be future farmers. I apologize for not being a better person when it comes to editing my comment and make it readable. I am just all over the place as I get excited to include things as I remember them. As always God bless this family!
Awesome you still recall and share those memories. A lot of experiences in the engine rebuild aren't being passed down. Glad you're following us.
In time scott ! U and nick have houses to finish(he has to start his) and move into, hopefully yall will have a very bountiful crop(s), and maybe be able to buy one(two ?) as a demo/loaner(used, reduced price)... your family is priceless !!!
Praise the Lord for His provision...for a great mechanic, a great friend who offered his injectors to get you going...this is farm life in Montana...actually in most parts of the country. These hard working men and women feed us! There was NO government involved in getting the tractors repaired!
Glad you got everything up and going. God Bless 👍👍
Glad to see y’all back planting!! Good luck and God bless y’all!! From La. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙋🏼♂️👍😁

Thank God for friends. Hope that you get some rain now. God bless.
A Cummins rebuilt problem Whee!! not Big Bud Problem ,typical for aged Cummins stuff and rebuilt parts. Friends/Neighbors a valuable resource.
Awesome video thanks for sharing glad you got it fixed
Love the video Guy's and God Bless you and your familyss .
Leg Arms...did your drive in reverse to get that shot of the first Bud seeding? Great!
Scott, You are a very lucky man. A wonderful family and friends that will actually take injectors out of their own engines to help you out. Maybe I should just say that the Welkers are blessed with family and friends.
Thank you buddy Dusty and may god bless you and yours!
Great video! Glad it worked out!
The happiness, the smiles beautiful a whole world of blessings!!!!!!
You guys are the total package. You can fix and make anything.
And they know when to bring in the hired gun mechanic, so smart
Praise God for all that was needed to get you up and running again.
Great work, all!
