"I have spent my whole life scared, frightened of things that could happen, might happen, might not happen, 50-years I spent like that. Finding myself awake at three in the morning. But you know what? Ever since my diagnosis, I sleep just fine. What I came to realize is that fear, that’s the worst of it. That’s the real enemy. "Both elements of Pluto and the devil" - Pluto is the Roman god of the Underworld in mythology, so they kind of ARE synonymous with each other!
And a dog.
Although the planet was named first.
So is pluto the dog named after the planet, or the god of the underworld /and death?
@@VIKDR1 Pluto the dog was named after the planet. He runs around mickey and disappears from time to time, but always to return, like pluto at the edge of our solar system.
@@Kharazim I prefer that Micky's dog is a veiled reference to the Devil.
VIKDR wow edgy and cool
@CogentPhilosopher agreed, Pluto/Hades is maybe the least horrible Greek god out there.
MY FAVOURITE LINE IN THE WHOLE SHOW: “WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?”
I should explain, scientist made a mistake thinking Pluto was bigger then it was, so when it turned out to be as small as it was, it could no longer fit the qualifications of a PLANET.
If you still count Pluto as a planet, you also have to count the following Celestial Dwarf's as planets, that is ALSO located in our solar system:
- Ceres
- Haumea
- Makemake
and
- Eris
Making it 14 planets in our solarsystem.
A planet must have atleast around 5000 km in diameter, while Pluto only has around half: 2376.5 km.
I hope this explaines it so we can prevent misinformation and the spread of it.
*misinformation
*made a mistake
@@isaac4283 thanks for that, still need to practise my english.
Ceres! Hell yeah. At some point in the future it may be one of the most important celestial bodies we visit. With its location in the asteroid belt it's thought to be a key jumping off point to mine the belt for resources and refuel on the way to the outer planets.
You shouldn't explain, they aren't able to think on that level. They will not remember it.
RCorbzz what? It’s not hard to understand I think they’ll be able to understand just fine
Pluto and the devil are very related. Pluto is the god of the underworld, as is the Devil. ; )
I knew this post would be down here when they said that near the end of the video... ;)
@CogentPhilosopher Neither of them are beings because neither of them have ever been and evil is only a point of view. Stick that in your cog and smoke it.
@CogentPhilosopher Never said you couldn't speak or do your best to split hairs but, if you want to split hairs let's go all the way. I never said that Pluto was evil and I never said that the devil was a god. I said they were related not identical. They are related as figures that hold dominion over realms of death in their own narrative, Please remember that related does not mean identical.
As far as the (You need to stop jumping to conclusions to try to make yourself feel better by acting like you know more then others.) portion of your post. I would be betting that is nothing more than a cut and paste from replies to most of your comments.
Stephen King, ring a bell?
Hades?
"He's about to end this man's whole career".
This was more true then I think she thought
Wow, that's some great insight, Kacee. Meanwhile, Anthony is being a Jerry. ✌️😂✌️
Your Rick and Morty reactions are by far the most intelligent reactions of the show that I’ve seen on this platform-it’s great! You both seem super smart even while drunk lol.
“I HAVEN’T LEARNED A THING”
I usually end up saying that at least three times a semester.
That was my favorite post credit scene of the season. Rick is very vulnerable at times and I like that a lot from a guy that can be a HUGE DOUCHE!
Oh shit it's drunken quarantine time, cheers guys
This episode show you how deep down Rick cares about his family. Even when they are not his actually family
You guys have to watch Bojack Horseman!! Gets too real
"Stay scientific, Jerry."
You guy's reactions when Rick and Summer were kicking ass was priceless.
I'll say that the creators didn't intend or at least didn't want the responsibility of continuity so they could just go buck wild with whatever that wanted but then started to explore the characters and ideas over a longer time. It blew up in popularity so they were pretty much given a blank check and as much time as they wanted so now they're just doing any damn ol' thing they want. Which is why it may feel like there's a bunch of random one offs then a few of continuing a story.
Also Dan Harmon, along with the writer's room, are pretty much masters of the sitcom cliche dodge. So the show draws you in with the familiar, then often takes a left turn on the convention.
But there's always been an overarching storyline even from season 1, yea Rick and Morty might seem like an episodic show but it's actually both episodic and serialized, the serialized nature of the show only becomes apparent in later episodes/seasons but it has always been there
Hey guys, I'm first time that early, love your videos keep on doing Rick and Morty, those are your best reactions!
"I may be Satan but your grandpa is the Devil" is one of the best lines ever 🤣
Don't fuck with Rick, cosmic nihilism and super-intelligence is a truly dangerous combination.
Stephen king's needful things... Read it and you will understand this episode
Kacee's reaction to the abusive dog owner yanking his dog's leash was priceless
I found it more funny that she was wearing a DARE shirt, while drinking Alcohol, than the episode itself lol
The next show better Rick an Morty season 2
jim hemp I’m looking forward to their reaction of episode 3...
@@robm9462 yeah and episode 4 with Summers friend Grace
IF Pluto was a planet, then Ceres, Charon, Vesta, Eres, and Make Make would all be planets too.
So the official definition of planet was created (there wasnt one before 2006) includes the requirement of clearing its orbital path.
I think this is not really the best definition. The orbit of Neptune overlaps the orbit of Pluto, so by this definition Neptune is not a planet. It has failed to clear its orbital path.
Been watching your Rick and Morty reactions every Saturday and I finally subbed cause I've been whistling your theme song since last Saturday thanks for that hahaha
Agreeing with Jerry should be a wake up call
12:40 but in Roman Mythology Pluto was the God of the underworld, so they kind of are synonymous ;)
Hades?
@@a.mseymour180 yah, Hades is Greek, Pluto is his Roman name.
Without spoiling anything, let's just say that Rick only deserves so much sympathy. He's not lonely because he's smart. He's lonely because he looks down on people. Being smart just lets him get away with it in every way except socially.
Lol, Anthony shows himself as a Jerry denying that pluto is no longer a planet
6:10
Kacee's reaction when it revealed that the aliens were actually plutonians is so adorable.
12:10-12:26.
You both are moods during this scene. Love your reactions.
This was an awesome reaction was one of the funniest I’ve ever seen from you! :D
It was sooo adorable and hilarious at the same time, watching you both totally losing it; just cheering and laughing like crazy XD
You made me LOL IRL, which is very much needed after my first week of voluntary isolation >.<
Thank you!
you guys have best reactions to Rick and Morty on yt :D
id love to see kasey more in the hat flipped backwards, as always looking marvelous 🥰
You have low standards buck tooth white chick you must think mr ed is hot as well.
@@CtheDead209-zt8tj are you lonely? Bored? Hurt or something I see you alot dissing her like did she reject you in the past
Thank you for make me laugh so much! I'm from Italy and here we have a really bad situation right now.....
I am so sorry that you are going through this! Stay strong! ❤️❤️ -Kacee
Always get so excited when I see you put up another rick and morty vid, especially with the actual show taking literally forever to return. by the time it actually airs, you may be caught up to us! lol
Big twists are coming for the season finale be ready, this show is AMAZING
Is the next show archer? That would be a good drinking show
Imagine endowing a machine with consciousness just to pass butter. Yep, that sounds like our god.
By the time y’all made this, they made it a planet again already
"to me pluto is still a Planet"
Plutonians *subscribe*
Oh can't wait for your reaction to the next episode :D
Pluto is so obviously not a planet.
It orbits in the wrong direction, and on a different plane.
React to ATTACK ON TITAN
'For a little bit I was like... Eh' ... 'Then I was like... Ah'
and in the end she was like 'Wooo, fuck em up, YEAH!!'
you gotta start watchin' Gravity Falls, it's a great show full of mystery plus Alex Hirsch{creator of GF} and Justin Roiland are friends and Rick & Morty is full of easter eggs from Gravity Falls and vice versa
Bro Rick got Beef with everybody 💀💀✋
There's probably a universe where Pluto is still a planet. Lol.
I love how they just pop out of no where at the end
The reason they say that Pluto isn't a planet now is because they found several other Celestial Dwarfs of approximately the same size on the outer realm of our solar system. There could be a lot more. They either had to declare all of those to be planets or they had to create a new category for something too small to be a planet but too big to be an asteroid. Thus the celestial dwarf was born. Pluto clearly falls into that category so they decided that Pluto was no longer a planet.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
I'm Spanish and I say: "¡Salud a ti también!"
The thing about Pluto's re-classification is that until recently, there wasn't really a proper definition what "planet" really means; there was just this list of celestial objects that had traditionally been _called_ "planets" - and that's it. No formal definition of the term.
When the scientists actually sat down to work out what all the known planets have in common, to build a proper rule for determining planethood, a rather obvious pattern started to emerge: pretty much _any_ rule you try to define about planets goes like "All planets in the solar system do _X,_ except Pluto, which does _Y,"_ and "All known planets have _this_ attribute, except Pluto, which doesn't," and "All planets are in _these_ kinds of orbits, except Pluto, which has a completely different one," and so on, and so forth. At some point you just can't keep up the pretense that Pluto is _somehow_ part of this classification that it has _nothing_ in common with.
What's more, there is a class of celestial objects with which Pluto shares _loads_ of commonalities: *the trans-Neptunian objects.* There is no sane reason to _keep insisting_ that Pluto _must_ be counted as the last planet, when you can celebrate it as the _first_ trans-Neptunian object to be discovered. So just stop stubbornly forcing this "ugly duckling" to conform to your idea of what it _ought_ to be, and let it be the beautiful swan that it has _always been from the start!_
That butter robot had such a good point lol everyone has a purpose in life no matter how big or small it is
Now that you mention it, Kacee does look like Elizabeth Olsen.
Time for Reactions on the Rocks, With the best commentary around, Some Keystone Light Beer and a few shots of Fireball Whisky, I'm having an excellent stay at home night..
I used to disagree that Pluto wasn't a planet anymore. But it's only because I feared the status quo changing. Now I know it doesn't matter and I only exist to pass butter
You're certainly welcome to call Pluto a planet as long as you call the other 4 dwarf planets we found planets as well. In which case there still aren't nine
Either way something about what we were taught is out of date
Also the hundreds of other objects in the solar system that are also very similar to Pluto.
Friday the 13th the series. I remember as a kid staying up to watch that...
the reason a lot of theoretical (and experimental) physicists support the idea of a multiverse is bc the conditions required for our universe to form the way it has and for the creation of planets habitable by life were very very specific. Some of these constants such as density ratio and expansion rate had to extremely exact up to 30 sig figs as well as other things like the gravitational constant! so rather than taking a religious route and saying this all happened so that we can exist, it makes sense to assume that there are and extremely large number of universes, and we are only able to observe that ours is the way it is because we happened to be in one with conditions that allow us to exist. orrr there’s the simulation theory...
Rick feeling alone is a reoccurring theme in the show
Pluto is synonymous with the devil. Pluto was the ruler of the underworld in classical mythology
if you want a cartoon that makes you FEEL for a character watch "Primal" from Adult Swim Cartoon Network
the first season is finished and its only 5 episodes 30 minutes each -- so you can squeeze it in sometime
Yeah,primal is good and unique
I havent see any youtubers react to that
Try it out
Japanese cartoons as well
What is my purpose?... you pass butter. OMG. Yeah get used to it pal. One of my favorite lines😂😂
How we all feel lol
No sympathy (for the Devil)....nice line.
Pluto isn't a planet because we got better at finding stuff and we found 4 more asteroids that are pluto sized so either add 4 more planets are pluto has to go.
This is one of two episodes where I watch Kacee's face and see that she probably goes to church. Lucifer/God being the focus here.
Fun fact. That shop is based on Stephens King book Needful Things...highly recommend.
Try "The haunted of Hill House", it is a good spooky serie
This is my favorite episode from season 1. You are finally here 👍
Anthony's laugh helps me live..
I don't care if it's the same combo and soundtrack every time; i could watch a whole episode of Rick and Summer beating up shitty people!
Wow what kind people, loving you reactions guys
Antony being Jerry :P If Pluto's a planet, Ceres is a planet too #CeresRightsMatter
Always looking foward to your next reaction, thanks guys
So good, next episode is one of my all time favorites
The word "planet" wasn't well defined before. Just meant big thing that wasn't a star. But as we began cataloging more and more things in and beyond our solar system, too many things ended up in that gray area. So they gave the title of planet a bunch of criteria, and Pluto didn't match all criteria.
3:53 you’d think that’d be a question that was asked 8 episodes earlier
Rick always wears a lab coat because he is a mad scientist.
Did you know the devil is the actor from Spiderman 2?(Doc Oc)
Archer would be great drunk ;D
Brace yourself, every episode so far has just been them on some wacky adventure but next episode is where the world expands and shit gets real.
It’s loosely based on the Ray Bradbury story Something Wicked this Way Comes ( which also oddly enough was a Disney movie and is on D+)
It also has tons of elements from the Stephen King book Needful Things
R.I.P., DMX!
8:30 those screams 😂🤣
Great reaction
I'm here because of the end of season 5
At 4:19 it's the kitchen but at 4:24 it changed to the garage
Anyone else notice that.....
If you guys are Olsen and carrel I'm the young version of Adam Sandler hhahahahahhhahaah
Damn, Kacee really does talk over Anthony a lot.. let him say at least 1 sentence girl haha
Pluto a dwarf planet
I so fucking love this episode
hmmm is the next show Westworld? (Please be Westworld)
you know rick's daughter is smarter than most characters but very gullible
I was born in 2007 but pluto is a planet
there's no way to test for the existence of other universes. for all we know, every work of fiction conceivable is a separate universe certain writers have a psychic link to. stories change when new writers come in because they have weaker connections to said universe.
likewise, we are 3-dimensional beings with control of 2-dimensional things such as drawings. could we be creating 2-dimensional universes?
again, there's no way to test it.
Dreq the Dreck bruh. *hits blunt*
Not trying to be rude to you as a person, but this shows a very superficial understanding of the theory of parallel universes and the notion of dimension.
@@MHonari I figured as much. those were just unresearched ideas I've had for a few years. but now I must know: how can I deepen my understanding?
@@Dreq458 I appreciate your humble seeking of knowledge. This much I can provide as a random dude on the internet. :))
"There's no way to test for the existence of other universes." This seems to be the case at the moment.
Currently, there are few plausible scientific theories that justify the assumption of parallel universes, and the main one is many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics. I should emphasize that it's just an interpretation that some physicists find more convenient, and it doesn't necessitate anything yet. In this sense, parallel universes aren't linked to the fictions and fantasies of humans, other than the fact that some of our fictions might be happening in other universes. Humans can come up with stories about stopping time, traveling faster than light, worlds with logical contradictions, and many other absurd things that can't be happening in any physical world. If you like to learn more about this theory, I'd suggest checking out the latest video by Veritasium: czcams.com/video/kTXTPe3wahc/video.html
At the end of the video, a book for general audience is introduced that's written by a real physicist.
Dimension is a mathematical property that can be defined for the mathematical models that we pick to describe our physical world. Usually, it's useful to imagine the surface of a table or a piece of paper as a region in the Euclidean plane -- the familiar 2-dimensional space. However, the surface of a table isn't perfectly smooth and the thickness of a paper is not zero. Actually, if you consider the fact that these are made of atoms that are 99.9999999% empty space, you'll realize that these are far from our simple 2-dimensional image, but we use this model since it's useful on the scale of a human being. It's not even trivial that we're living in a 3-dimensional space (+1 dimension for time). String theorists have come up with different mathematical models to explain the physics of our world on the subatomic scale. These models assume that everything is made out of 1-dimensional strings moving in a 10-, 11-, or 26-dimensional spacetime (depending on the model), but on the larger scales, many of these "compactified" extra dimensions cannot be detected. Imagine the 2-dimensional surface of a very long cylinder. When looking from far away, the tube seems to be just a 1-dimensional line. Similarly, a more precise model of our spacetime might be 11-dimensional, but we only experience the 4 larger dimensions. So, when painting, we're not creating physical 2-dimensional worlds, but we're only imagining 2-dimensional spaces, the same way that we can imagine many other weird spaces. (Check this out: mcescher.com/gallery/impossible-constructions/)
If these ideas from string theory interest you, you can read 'Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the 10th Dimension' by Michio Kaku, who's a theoretical physicist and a popularizer of science. If you're interested in understanding the mathematical idea of dimension and how it shapes our conception of the possible shapes of the cosmos, you should read The Shape of Space by Jeffrey R. Weeks, who's a mathematician. (For centuries, we thought the surface of the Earth is simply like the Euclidean plane, but now we know it has a curvature in the 3-dimensional space that makes its area finite. What if the outer space is curved inside a higher-dimensional space, and it has a finite volume?)
Sorry about my terrible English. It's not my first language.
@@MHonari dude, thank you. also, I'm pretty sure your english is better than most native speakers of english.
Kacee got rowdy at the end. 😁
03:08 yeah reality sucks, most people don't have a choice in their purpose so I agree with Rick. Those of you reading this and had/have more than 2-3 choices are lucky and if you have a lot of choices you are privileged
There is a multiverse out there
