    Ah what the heck Miyagi? Mistakes are a part of being human. I really appreciate the darn near bullet proof motor in the XS 650. My cousin ran a Triumph Bonneville as a flat track racer for a while back in the 60’s when I was a kid. I’m surprised that Yamaha didn’t put thrust washers on those camshafts between the bearings and the end plates. Thanks for another good video. Don’t be to hard on yourself. We all make mistakes. It’s just part of learning. Take care my friend. A wave of the hand to you and Mrs. Miyagi from Florida and this old retired truck driver.

    They're still putting erasers on pencils which indicates we're all still making mistakes; and all still learning.Thanks for another informative video!

    Uff da, well I matched your other video, looks like I’ll follow suit here too. Thanks for the video update. If possible I would replace that other video with this segment in there. I think you can do that on CZcams, so more folks don’t install it improperly. Thanks again for showing the right way to do it, it’s a big help! Love the videos!

      @outlaw86custom  Před rokem +1

      Double check that your chain is not hanging up on the crank sprocket it can cause a shortening of the chain.
      Let me know if is not the problem. Thanks for watching.

      I got the chain on. Had to remove the bearing on the one side and then lift up and install the bearing. Maybe my head gaskets were thicker, Thanks

    I am about to be doing this on my 75 because I’m having issues getting it to start and it’s got brand new tc bro carbs and mikes xs ignition and still can’t get it to start correctly. Just try’s floods and oddly back fires when I turn the key off lol I’m down to cam chain timing ? Also it spits out the carb alittle bit when trying to start I know there millions of videos but do you think it sounds like cam chain timing ?

    • @outlaw86custom
      @outlaw86custom  Před 2 lety +1

      It could be very well cam time anytime you have a backfire it is usually cam timing. Thanks for watching

      @@outlaw86custom well we checked the chain tensioner and adjusted the valves and it stopped doing the back fire and we turned the ignition system on clutch side some and it almost found the spot but we ran out of room of adjustment .
      Is there an adjustment on the opposite side of where you adjust your ignition system to give you more room to work with on clutch side or is what you got to work with all you got ,and I’m fore sure down to engine timing ? If that makes sense

      @@annihilationcontrol6369 the other side is for advancing and not charging of ignition now if the weights and springs are screwed up you could have a little problems too.

      @@outlaw86custom right I see well when my buddy gets another full day ,we going to do a little more messing with it and if no luck I’m just down to timing I suppose.
      Which I guess isn’t too bad of a job either
