Granted the combat is more tactics/execution than strategy but it takes strategy to get through any good RPG, really. Decision making and situational awareness, which are the core elements of what makes a 'strategy game'. are highly involved in building your character.

redder876543 PvP is a different subset that may or may not correlate with strategy games. There are many PvE strategy games. Remember 'strategy' is before the battle and 'tactics' is during the battle. Stealth games are tactical and not strategic if the preparation for the battle is irrelevant/meaningless.

I have over 500 hours on Dark Souls and i had no idea you could look over and see the Asylum Demon through the bars before you fought him.

Intuition is actually experience. When you have experience in a sphere and you know what to expect, your brain reacts. Since they are not actually gamers you cant expect them to have intuition. Also you cant say you can be too intuitive in a game since it is restricted by the engine. The developers decided what you can do. Just because its intuitive for you to make falling attack, it doesnt mean it will be a feature in every game.

I love how only one of them realised that dodging correctly makes you live longer.
Call me scrub tho but at my playthrought blocking with a proper shield was usually gave me a longer chance to live then when i doing the dodge roll especially if you're dealing with a boss who has a bad hitboxes
@@monsterhunterdarksouls6229 nah weapon/shield combo is fine, it doesn’t make you a scrub. If an enemy can be parried I use my shield but if it can’t, I just two hand my weapon and dodge.

Game in a nutshell really. It'll put up challenging roadblocks so you feel rewarded for beating them. Game's not as hard as people make it out to be, but it rarely stops being challenging. I found by about a third of the way through the game, all of my deaths were basically from greed.

doomscyte I mean sure, but no matter how bad you are, if they just get the time to learn the mechanics of the game, and just figure out how the game works, Dark Souls becomes quite an easy game.
But I mean, you're only cautious on your first way through an area. After that you pretty much know what to expect. If you just get roll timings down, and learn some attack patterns, this game is easy-peasy. I mean, I had a lot of trouble with O&S on my first playthrough, but on my second playthrough I could oneshot them without even taking damage.
And sure, he's a bit of an asshole by killing Oscar, but killing people for their stuff isn't really noob logic. I mean, I kill Lautrec for his Ring of Favor and Protection almost every playthrough, and also Shiva of the East's bodyguard to get the ninja flip ring. So I don't think it's too bad if he kills Oscar. Hell, he'd probably go back later either way, and then you have to kill him to get the Crest Shield, if I remember correctly.

The moment someone picks the sorcerer as his class, a message should appear saying "congratulations, you found the hidden easy mode!"
you've clearly never played a sorcerer before. always running out of spells/FP, enemeys always dogding your spells,
no sutibale melee weapons until much later into the game, your casting constantly interupted, and then there's magic resistaint areas that makes you switch to a playstyle you are not sutiable for. EVERY SINGLE PLAYSTYLE has it's pros and cons, dark souls or not.

How could every single one of them fail the surprise plunge attack? The clue right before you go in makes it so obvious. I have never seen the demon take down the ledge before because it has never taken me that long to do that part.

I agree that the cloak is a great set, but I can wait until Blighttown to grab it, since you can upgrade it up to +6(7?) right away.

I'll concede on the Wanderer point. It's not a bad class, but it did put points into stuff I'm not going to use often. Bandit already gives me a head start, but the wanderer does have decent equipment (just not a 100% shield or the Spider Shield)
OwlBreaker - Oh yes i also love bandit class. It's my second choice if I dont want to make a dex character. Good stats all around. The only thing i dont like is that the axe is quite slow

Yeah the kings where a DMP match. The Souls game (and bloodborne) are not that hard. They just don't tell you anything about.... Anything. The game lets you figure shit out for yourself. For example eople wondered for months after the game came out what exactly the occult upgrade path was for.

Vidust v True, but the game still isn't as hard as everyone says it is. Sure, it has a learning curve, but it's ok after the first hour or so of game-play.

I suppose people can only say it because amongst every other game it is. This is what an average game should have, but because of how games work now days, this is a difficult game. I think gamers are held by the hand way too much in gaming.
This game is as hard as you make it for yourself. By either not learning, using bad gear, making poor level up choices, or turning npc's against you. For example I still can't help but shake my head when I ever see anyone get hit by any enemy in the Heide's tower area of DS2
