I don’t like Castlevania Nocturne. It kept doing its own thing and it it’s making stuff up. that’s not Castlevania anymore. This is shit I don’t like about most the characters and I might be wrong of few things. Annette pretty much steals the show. She’s the best part of the show but obviously none of that happens in game. Annette in game is a white girl who gets kidnapped by Dracula and maybe becomes a vampire if you take too long to save her. She’s Richter’s fiancé and Maria’s cousin Terra. Why is she a witch ? In game she is a nun just a another lady who gets kidnapped by Dracula. If rescued on stage 3 she gives you prayer beads that permanently destroy red skeletons. I think. Olrox. Richter’s mom and grandfather are never mentioned in game. Olrox never shows up in rondo of blood. Unless you know the password to unlock Richter in symphony of the night. Richter never fights Olrox. Olrox is just a random boss from symphony of the night. He’s a bald vampire man Who turns into a giant green reptile monster. Not a Snake. Olrox’s boyfriend Mizrak seems like a completely original character Abbot Emmanuel. Sort of original character but clearly he’s meant to be Shaft the Dark Priest. Richter Belmont. I have literally no reason to assume he could even do magic. Juste Belmont is the only Belmont who does magic. Fire, Ice, electricity and Wind. That’s Juste Belmont from Harmony of Dissonanc Richter’s grandfather is Juste Belmont. I didn’t recognize him when I was actually watching the show Drolta Tzuentes. The vampire lady with the fiery pink hair. In the video games she’s not a vampire she’s a witch. Like an old lady and a hood. Maria Renard. She’s another girl who gets kidnapped by Dracula however if you rescue her she is the secondary playable character. In the video game her mother and father are never mentioned and Annette is her cousin. The Netflix series made Tera a witch and made Tera Maria’s mother. And I hate it. On the very last episode Maria gets kidnapped anyway in use for a ritual. The ritual that backfires an accidental gives her her powers. She gets rescue too quickly to even matter and ultimately it would do nothing because she already has her powers. Alucard.... is here. Don’t know why. Within the video game Richter would’ve defeated Dracula and the Castle would have collapsed but instead of the normal 100 years. Dracula‘s castle shows up a year later. It should look like Richter fell in love with the fame and glory of being a hero and resurrected Dracula to have monsters to fight. Richter is the villain of the first half of symphony of the night
Annette only can even become a vampire in Dracula X Chronicles. Not Rondo of Blood. With that in mind, I’m pretty certain that in game continuity, Annette lived, and is why Richter had children.
I really liked it. The singing was a bizarre if not wrong choice, and the vampires walking around on a super sunny day made me confused. But I enjoyed the story, animation, acting, and the baddies design. 8/10
The fact that Legend of Kora is not really my taste but I still enjoy certain things like fights scene, introduction of old characters from ATLA( avatar the last airbender) and not bad sacarsm is a plus but Nocturn, is forced and the fight scenes are too rushed for me to enjoy them , well Kora really had a good fight scene for all of us to enjoy and well written stories about their villains reason for what they do and I can STILL can recall how good all their villains as well as their names, rather than Nocturn which makes me laugh, let's not forget that even though Richard's mom died she has the OVER ALL best fights ( even though she died😂😂)
Its better if they don’t tell you if you watched nocturne i would be feeling concerned for you that you had to sit through all the episode feeling like wanting to tear down t.v
Sorry to all who love it, but personally I was so bored watching this. The vampire who killes Richters mom was the only character who was halfway interesting (well, Richters mom as well but we won't get much more there) but not enough for me to say this season was good. I literally couldn't remember the name of any character before watching this video.
You don't have to be sorry, everyone can have an opinion, for me it was good, I liked Richters story, he carrying the guilt and trauma that were blocking his magic and then being able to forgive himself and do magic again, I think a lot of people can relate to having made some mistakes that still haunt us sometimes we're harder on ourselves than anyone else.
I absolutely DESPISE how they made Richter treat Juste: "mAgIc CaMe bAcK cUz iAm YoUnG". Such bullsh*t! To me that cements this iteration of Richter as a try-hard Belmont wannabe brat who can't even finish his one-liners.
at this point im used to all my fiction having "the main character" and then every other cast member feels like a better main character, so the annette thing didnt phase me. i interpreted the night creature personality thing as being unique to the hell pact the priest had, and thus an exception to the rules that were explained for naturally born forgemasters. also i interpreted the french revolution as being in the beginning phases, where people hadnt actually started the revolution, and were just finddng like minded individuals. but i have to agree this pacing is lightning fast, and the show does suffer for it.
I my thing with the show is that it had the same problem the original did is that I was not a big fan of the talking scenes and in this one they so much more boring and when the singing started I bounced
Honestly I feel like it all taking place in a single location with the villains and protagonists like a twenty minute jog away from each other makes the pacing feel even slower
I liked it, though I was also annoyed with the singing. It's a cool concept but it didn't sound well enough to make it diegetic and double as the action soundtrack. 5th element did the same thing, but the music matched the energy, so it enhanced the experience. Here it doesn't, so he comes off as a theater kid vying for attention while everyone else is struggling for their lives.
Agree to disagree, but the only point I want to make is that they absolutely do not explain magic in the OG series. Sypha just says she’s a “scholar of magic” and they go with it. Maria at least explains that her familiars come from a different dimension
You do realize the magic you criticize is the exact same that you praise. Magic summons those creatures from said dimension. Also they do explain she controls magic as she learned how from previous people/creatures who taught others as that’s the whole point of the speakers to gain and pass on knowledge.
@@ShawnBrickles that’s not an explanation of the magic, just how she learned it. And I am not defending either series’s magic systems. I’m just saying neither one is explained
@nepsit219 As far as I’m concerned both are shrouded in the same mystery. I don’t think tacking on a dimension which is also never explained just adds more mystery than it answers. Also you do specify OG series doesn’t explain it. Sure it isn’t examined well but as a truth in that world people can study and learn to use magic it’s similar to learning how plants can become medicine or how electricity can be harnessed to make machines as they are truths in the world.
@@ShawnBrickles yes. And by that extension how birds, cats, and turtles can be spawned from nothing but someone’s intent. The magic system is the same. We are on the same page. It’s not a criticism of mine that it isn’t explained well. It’s a criticism of OP’s that Nocturne’s isn’t. And that’s fine. But it’s the same magic system is all I am pointing out
I misunderstood what you meant based on how it was phrased. That’s my mistake. OP definitely could’ve touched more on that aspect for sure. I imagine he didn’t primarily because he wanted to give his unscripted thoughts as stated in the beginning.
Maria I mean obviously they just wanted her to be able to fight early in the show but it’s stupid. Why couldn’t they just let her be and act like a normal 12 year old girl? She’s a joke character let her be funny she’s over here talking like a full grown adult. She’s a normal girl who gets kidnapped by Dracula‘s minions and during a resurrection ritual backfires and she gets a little bit of Dracula’s power. That’s is why she haves her powers. Her mother is not a witch in fact Tera is just a regular nun who also got kidnapped by Dracula’s minions. You know even as a joke she is the strongest character in the Castlevania series. Non-canon she could beat Dracula with ease
This definitely felt like it was rushed during covid times, not knowing if it would be back. Now even with that in mind, this shouldn’t even matter. They should’ve just made a good 1 season, and trust that we would love it because we would’ve. Just a bit disappointed with it. Loved the video, really pointed out everything I felt
the show its trash if it gets a season 2 it will get even more woke and ruin castevnia even more . i swear castevania the shadow mask was a woke mistake of a game too .
if this is season 1 of the new series then season 2 will get way worse . sorry but there was a reason why people hated season 3 & 4 from the original bisdesds the one dematinal lesbian vampires who where so freaking pointless & useless aw yeah Dracula did have a armor who can protect him from the sun oh wait no it was the stupid lesbian tank who did have it funny how he didn't use the armor to take over the town & get a sun protection . also black Annette freaking sucks as a character no body give a damn about slavery in franc in 1764 because people deal with other crap like how not to die in age of 30 from the plague or rats .
I hated it so much because it was such a disappointment. Olrox was the only character I thought was interesting. There was too much going on, and I felt like they were trying to check boxes. Erzebet could have been an amazing villian, but she ends up being generic. Carmilla had a perfect arc imo.

The show isn’t bad y’all just don’t like that it didn’t keep the same exact story lines as the game even though they told us in the original series that the storyline for the anime was never meant to follow the storyline of the games
I like it and I dont understand the critics, not that I care. The storyline is logical, the historical context is well intregrated and serves an intersting vision of natural order (from vampire and irl pov with slavery), the choise of characters follows the message and integrates interesting irl believes on magic, supernatural and mysticism. The whole show follows a logical path when it comes to vampire in the 18th century. Cant wait for season 2
Well, I loved it. You complain how they tried to put everything in just few episodes and yet expect great character development. People compare this one season to whole OG series which included 4 seasons.
@@DunderHeads I think the first season is just a set up and the cliffhanger give a huge space to develop main characters. I respect your opinion though. You didn’t say it’s woke trash but explained every aspect instead.
Then just compare it with the og Castlevania’s first season 😂 Nocturne is a mess and doesn’t even come close to the level of quality of the very first season with Trevor. It’s worse when you consider they had double the episodes to tell their story.
The first season of the first series was Like 3 episodes And that was still long enough to make me (And everybody else watching) Like Dracula And Trevor while also, even with the very small amount of screen time, getting us to Like Sypha And even Alucard to some small extent. Richter And Annette Are fine but her And Maria's way of going about things clashes way to hard with richter to properly make me like them both from my own perspective And the other characters perspective.
You REALLY misunderstood the entire B plot of Flyeyes in the original show. His entire arc was showing us that night creatures DO retain parts of their human lives after transforming but they had been treated like "things" made to be slaves to forgemasters for so long that none had ever second guessed their own nature. Fly eyes literally ends his arc by enjoying berries even though he had just said that he didnt actually need to eat them as a night creature. His entire character was setting this up for future Castlevania series. Edouard was spêcial in the sense that he spent his entire life fighting for freedom for all and in his transformation that was the one thing he carried with him: a desire to break shackles exchanging the plight of oppressed blacks for that of oppressed night creatures.
No no no YOU misunderstood fly eyes. Yes he does retain some memories but they are very foggy to him. Regardless of that the body used for his creation wasn’t the same one he had when he was human as he had been long dead before being brought back. He also was constantly complaining about how Isaac was using him. He states how he was created to kill and destroy not to save and rebuild. Isaac FORCES him to be different and that adds to the fact they CANNOT disobey the forge master. I suppose you could make the argument that now that Isaac showed the night creatures they could be different but that’s irrelevant as it’s stated multiple times that they obey the forge master which is the whole reason Hector had to be tricked. And the priest very much didn’t want Eduard to kill another night creature proven by the priest locking him up as he couldn’t be trusted anymore.
Totally agree with your assesment, but I'm a bit more harsh on the original last two seasons of Castlevania too. As soon as Dracula died we pretty much lost the most important element of the entire series that connected to each of our characters in their own personal way. The last two seasons had the same issue that Nocturne has- Limited characterization (especially of the villains, Death was one goofy, edgy villain ntgl). The only character that stayed good throughout was Isaac, even though he was a part of the B Plot. I would classify Season 1 as good, Season 2 as great, season 3 as fine, season 4 as bad, and Nocturne also somewhere near the bad category.
Gotta agree Richter Belmont - A whimpering B grade Ryu Annette - Way too much screen time. also the way she moves/employs her powers seem awkward and unconvincing Maria - about as much character depth as a plank of wood Juste Belmont - such a massively wasted opportunity there! Mizrak - being a religious zealot while porking vampire cornhole just seems like lazy character development designed to reel in the gay dollar Edouard - he’d be more interesting if he sang candy shop in falsetto once Ertskrabetch Battery - *facepalm* after carmilla, she just seems like a petulant egomaniac with crap hair The only characters carrying this show are orlox and perhaps even drolta, though she looks as though her stylisation doesn’t exactly fit the period Alucards well times appearance at the end had me more engaged in 30 seconds than I had been in 8 episodes
The angry fanboy rage brings me joy. The show was amazing, the characters were interesting, the plot was interesting, the French Revolution and Creole/caribian slavery/ Native American Social commentary played well with the vampires quest to rule over all humans. I liked it 🤷♂️

Abbot Emmanuel. Sort of original character but clearly he’s meant to be Shaft the Dark Priest.
Richter Belmont. I have literally no reason to assume he could even do magic. Juste Belmont is the only Belmont who does magic. Fire, Ice, electricity and Wind. That’s Juste Belmont from Harmony of Dissonanc
Richter’s grandfather is Juste Belmont. I didn’t recognize him when I was actually watching the show
Drolta Tzuentes.
With that in mind, I’m pretty certain that in game continuity, Annette lived, and is why Richter had children.
if they made it like the game, the series would be like 4 episodes of storytelling.
Dracula coming back would throw all these new vampires onto spikes.
I really liked it. The singing was a bizarre if not wrong choice, and the vampires walking around on a super sunny day made me confused. But I enjoyed the story, animation, acting, and the baddies design. 8/10
Damn, that's just a crazy opinion honestly.
"I was going to comment this essay explaining why you are wrong, But fuck it." Richter Belmont 😂🤣🍻
Wait, Castlevania has its own series? Why didn’t anyone tell me?
the original series is really good lol, it's on Netflix
It's such a downgrade in comparison to the OG series it's not even CLOSE.
It was a little slow until Richter came up if u know what I mean!!! After that it was 🔥... But before that I wanted 2 give up😔
I will be honest didn't like the first triology but this is a whole new kind of disrespectful
Nocturne is a slow trainwreck in cheap Castlevania paint. I could not finish watching it.
I absolutely DESPISE how they made Richter treat Juste: "mAgIc CaMe bAcK cUz iAm YoUnG". Such bullsh*t!
To me that cements this iteration of Richter as a try-hard Belmont wannabe brat who can't even finish his one-liners.
the mom’s voice annoyed me
at this point im used to all my fiction having "the main character" and then every other cast member feels like a better main character, so the annette thing didnt phase me.
i interpreted the night creature personality thing as being unique to the hell pact the priest had, and thus an exception to the rules that were explained for naturally born forgemasters.
also i interpreted the french revolution as being in the beginning phases, where people hadnt actually started the revolution, and were just finddng like minded individuals.
but i have to agree this pacing is lightning fast, and the show does suffer for it.
Flawed, but maybe more gets put into the second season
I my thing with the show is that it had the same problem the original did is that I was not a big fan of the talking scenes and in this one they so much more boring and when the singing started I bounced
Honestly I feel like it all taking place in a single location with the villains and protagonists like a twenty minute jog away from each other makes the pacing feel even slower
I didn’t recognize Juste Belmont. I’m here being mad that Richter can do magic. like man this guy just ripping off that guy from harmony of dissonance
That’s Jake Belmont
I loved it. Yeah, it’s different from the first series, but it’s good in its own right imo.
I completely agree with pretty much all your points but it's honestly not that bad. Still plenty of enjoyment from the show.
What do you expect when they wanted to Milk the series same as all other series.
Yes I literally skip this stupid show.
It was meh. They layed down on that diversity casting.
It has some issues, but i really enjoyed it😊❤
Maria I mean obviously they just wanted her to be able to fight early in the show but it’s stupid.
She’s not 12 in the series. She’s already 17 but wearing her 12 year old outfit from the games.
Exactly
This definitely felt like it was rushed during covid times, not knowing if it would be back. Now even with that in mind, this shouldn’t even matter. They should’ve just made a good 1 season, and trust that we would love it because we would’ve. Just a bit disappointed with it. Loved the video, really pointed out everything I felt
It looks abit bad
Comment.

the show its trash if it gets a season 2 it will get even more woke and ruin castevnia even more .
i swear castevania the shadow mask was a woke mistake of a game too .
if this is season 1 of the new series then season 2 will get way worse .
sorry but there was a reason why people hated season 3 & 4 from the original bisdesds the one dematinal lesbian vampires who where so freaking pointless & useless aw yeah Dracula did have a armor who can protect him from the sun
oh wait no it was the stupid lesbian tank who did have it funny how he didn't use the armor to take over the town & get a sun protection .
also black Annette freaking sucks as a character no body give a damn about slavery in franc in 1764 because people deal with other crap like how not to die in age of 30 from the plague or rats .
I hated it so much because it was such a disappointment. Olrox was the only character I thought was interesting. There was too much going on, and I felt like they were trying to check boxes. Erzebet could have been an amazing villian, but she ends up being generic. Carmilla had a perfect arc imo.
call it wokevania ! 😂
Tip:
Watch it in Japanese. They become less annoying when talking in Japanese
nope its watching trash with a Japaneses bud over it
in the end of the day its still trash
@@LORDSofCHAOS333 It still is. But less annoying. Really helps keep your sanity.
Better yet: just don’t watch it
@@jorgeblanco1929 I kinda had to watch it and give it a chance since its castlevania. man you don't know how I really wanted to see an adaptation..I even watched that Monte Cristo adaptation too for example
@@elcidgaming I watched it too, I get it haha I just regret not watching a trailer first
Yes, just Alucard's appearance and how amazing he looked nullifies all the rest that is honestly awful about this show hahaha. I don't even care any more. Alucard.
I really hate annete, jesus christ this show was bad. How do you fuck up after such an amazing series as the original. Like come on man! Ugh, whatever.
The show isn’t bad y’all just don’t like that it didn’t keep the same exact story lines as the game even though they told us in the original series that the storyline for the anime was never meant to follow the storyline of the games
Hahahahhaha. i canttttt. I love Nocturne but this review is funny.
I lovveee thisssss!!!!!!!!
People compare this one season to whole OG series which included 4 seasons.
to each there own :)
@@DunderHeads I think the first season is just a set up and the cliffhanger give a huge space to develop main characters. I respect your opinion though. You didn’t say it’s woke trash but explained every aspect instead.
@@absynthe5640yeah it’s just the first season, more like a pilot. Everything will get better with more seasons
Every season of this show gets progressively worse. Its just woke garbage.
Too much useless blanbering...as usual.
More like Wokevania.
it was fire
Man I hate richard, he is even worse to ray from star wars.
Gotta agree
Richter Belmont - A whimpering B grade Ryu
Annette - Way too much screen time. also the way she moves/employs her powers seem awkward and unconvincing
Maria - about as much character depth as a plank of wood
Juste Belmont - such a massively wasted opportunity there!
Mizrak - being a religious zealot while porking vampire cornhole just seems like lazy character development designed to reel in the gay dollar
Edouard - he’d be more interesting if he sang candy shop in falsetto once
Ertskrabetch Battery - *facepalm* after carmilla, she just seems like a petulant egomaniac with crap hair
The only characters carrying this show are orlox and perhaps even drolta, though she looks as though her stylisation doesn’t exactly fit the period
Alucards well times appearance at the end had me more engaged in 30 seconds than I had been in 8 episodes
I really enjoyed it. Loved it actually more than the first series.
Same.
No lie, if you liked the original Castlevania, you'll like this one.
I loved the first show and despise everything about nocturne. Don't speak for everyone bro.
I liked original but didn't like this show.
That is an incredible lie.
Nocturne Is horrendous
The first one, while not faithful to the games, was entertaining, well paced and developed characters.
Negatory my friend
It`s not chud, it`s just as good as the first season
The angry fanboy rage brings me joy. The show was amazing, the characters were interesting, the plot was interesting, the French Revolution and Creole/caribian slavery/ Native American Social commentary played well with the vampires quest to rule over all humans.
I liked it 🤷♂️
I’ll tell your mother when I finish.
@@grahamstrouse1165 A very low IQ response. Of all the witty, or logical responses you could have made, “your mama” is the best you could do 😂😂😂😂. What a loser
Its only bad to the ignorant. If you think its bad i think the calls are coming from inside the house. You should fix that. Half of you couldnt have even make a project like this come to life, let alone make it worth watching. Stop bashing these artists and what they do. I swear Nocturne made every republican nerd and racist come out of the woodwork. Yall can crawl back under your bridges of insecurity and disrespect.
Ah yes. You can only dislike this dumpster fire if you're a "Republican, Racist, Nerd". Do you not realize that a lot if the people who hated this show listed Isaac as one of their favorite characters from the previous show. But I suppose you may be a tad mentally challenged so you're unable to form any proper arguments.
Could not agree with you more. But you know you'll get defensive comments from people who know you're right and talking about them.
@@rofltrolflyingfish Don't know why you wanted to prove his point so hard but, ok dude, mission accomplished.
@@er9779 A lot of words to say absolutely nothing.

"We prefer to call it the godless masses"
