- Breuill -Cervinia, or more famous as just “Cervinia”, on the boarder of Switzerland, is the best ski resort in Italy for late season.
Together with valtournenche and famous Zermatt, they share the matterhorn ski paradise ski area, which considered by many as the most beautiful ski area in the world.
in this video we will show you everything you need to know before planning a vacation in Cervinia, and if you stick around until the end of the video, you’ll get some great tips that will help you make better decisions, save time and money!
The closest airports to Cervinia are Turin, with a transfer time of 1 hour and 39 minutes, Milan Malpensa airport with a transfer time of 2 hours and 7 minutes and Geneva, with a transfer time of 3 hours.
Take note that a round trip crossing of the mont blanc tunnel will cost you 57 euros per car if you are coming from Geneva.
Cervinia lies under the south face of maybe the most Iconic mountain in the world, the Materrhorn, aka Cervino, where the highest spine of the alps.
The village is located in the altitude of 2050 meters at the bottom of a large bowl capped by the Materrhorn ridge on the west and north and the Glacier on plateau Rosa on the east
There are 2 main skipasses you can buy in Cervinia:
Cervinia- valtournenche ski pass, which includes the Italian side of the Matterhorn paradise and consist of 150 connected km of ski runs
It costs 230 euros for 6 days and recommended for beginners.
For intermediates and advanced, we recommend to buy the international skipass, which costs 290 euros for 6 days and consist 360 km of ski connected ski runs, and worth every penny
The swiss side is bigger. More diverse and beautiful, and you can visit the amazing pedestrian town of Zermatt.
take note that it is important to leave early in the morning and pay attention for the weather.
If you happened to stuck on the swiss side as of the weather or just because you missed the last lift to little Matterhorn, wait to the end of the video to hear the solution to that problem.
Together with Zermatt, Cervinia shared the largest glacier ski area in the world, and the largest summer ski area in Europe.
the snow is even good on April because of the high altitude and the big bowl is serves as a huge reflector, so for all the northern people who wants to tan fast, Cervinia is an ideal location for late season skiing and good weather.
pay notice that valtournenche is closed on April 20.
this video took place after the closer of valtournenche
the main ski area of Cervinia is a bit boring as there are almost no trees in most of it.
the runs are well groomed and great for beginners and intermediates, the best one is run 7 from Rosa Plateau all the way down to Cervinia and is 13 km long and almost 1500 meteres vertical drope, from the highest point in the Italian side to Cervinia itself.
For snowboarders, there are a lot of easy off piste areas and an average snowpark
Called Indian snowpark.
for freeriders and advances skiers there is heliski here.
The town have a cross country ski area and an ice ring
The town itself is quite boring and have a small pedestrian area,
we recommend to have an apres ski at Delle nevi,
And if there is a full moon, stay at chalet plan torrette, and ski back after dark with the moonlight

Our bonus tips for Cervinia:
As we promised, the first tip is, what to do if is stuck at the swiss side, well, in that case, it is better for you to get a room there because a cub back will take you 5 hours’ drive and cost you at least 500 euros!!
Our 2nd tip, is, if you come with a car, it is cheaper to sleep in valtournenchev.
On the days you will decide to ski to Zermatt, better park at Cervinia because it will save you precious
Time that you will need to explore the swiss side.
there are plenty of free parking lots in Cervinia. Be awere in nice weekends as there can be traffic jams
please reply with the name of the ski resort you want us to review next
Zermatt
Meribel!
Livigno, please :)
How about an update of Wengen/Grindelwald now that the new gondola has been added?
Kopaonik
Did it Feb 2017, it was amazing. Zermatt is something else!
I was there in January the same year. Amazing!
I will come back again.
Just stayed in Zermatt and skiied into cervinia and it was absolutely brilliant once again
@chaz8624 We usually go in february when the snow is at it's best but march-april will be a lot quieter and the snow will still be good so yeah.
Had a great holiday in Cervinia. 3 families together 7 kids in total. We all had a great time.
Going there on january. Cant wait!
Amazing view, I'll loved to be there
IT'S amazing how good the snow there in April
Looks amazing!

Nice video guys.
Cervinia is a wonderful place and has a very high average height of the slopes, but it is all exposed to the south.
So, it's not the best late season resort because in case of high temperature in April under 2500m
the snow is flaky. Cervinia is very good resort for snowy, for price and freeride.
The other connected side (Zermatt) is much better in late season.
I think that in case of good thickness of the snowpack (it is much less snowy than Cervinia), SOLDA (Sudtirol) is the best ski resort in Italy for late season. It's much smaller than Cervinia, but the snow is amazing.
Hey, consiglio. Vorrei sciare nel mese di maggio. Qualche suggerimento?
most beautiful mountain in Europe
Breul -Cervinia is not boring and the best thing about it almost no english
Do a video on avoriaz!
Very nice! ;)
Thank you very much!
good luck with your channel.
BTW, we'll upload Livigno review in about 2 weeks from now.
I dont think the village is boring. Its really nice in my opinion
hi Kelelulu,
we meant boring, from the nightlife, apres-ski scene perspective in the town.
we are launching a new website www.skiresortsvideo.com on October 1st,
where you can rate ski resorts and compare 2-7 resorts of your choice main criterions side by side.
nice tool for deciding between the candidates' resorts for your holiday😘⛷
Stay in Zermatt and just visit Cervinia. Zermatt is awesome!
Thanks for the tip, Susan.
I agree, but Zermatt is more expensive
….and 2-3 times more expensive for accommodation, eating out and snowpasses are dearer too.,
Zermatt-Cervinia should be a World Heritage Site.
Zermatt is a stunning place, but Cervinia village is horrible.
@@matteozanetti3926 Thanks Matteo. Useful advice. I can agree about Zermatt and am now prepared for Cerviinia!
I totally agree on it :)
when is the best time to go ? like avoiding the holidays etc you covered in some of yoru other videos ( i went to VT based on your video so thank you :)
thanks so much, keepitsecretuk
you warmed my heart,
like always I will avoid school holidays, especially Italien.
mid March is great there and not as expansive in high season.
in mid April valtournenche is closing , but Cervinia+Zermat gives you
a huge area that is good to ski until beginning of May!

There is a restaurant called chalet etoile in cervinia it has amazing food and drinks and a beautiful golden retriever called whisky
where abouts on the mountain, Im going to Zermatt in january and would love to search to find whisky
Brandon b in cervinia town (the area shown at the very start of the video)there are two chairlifts a big one and a small one take the big chairlift up once look to your right as you get ifand if memory serves pit stop should be there it is the one with a wooden sign that says the chalet etoile on
brandon b it has the love sign in the beer garden
corsheval please
I am not so convinced, the weather in late season is really unpredictable. We went late March, had one nice day in a week. The rest was wet snow, storm winds, and lots of dense fog. Slope preparation was really bad. Not sure I will go back.
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
please do Cortina d'Ampezzo
you will be happy to hear that we will upload the Cortina d'Ampezzo review on January 25th
I ate there
Any good spots for Campervan's around..?
I don't know about a place with electricity etc' but there are big free parking lots just 3-5 minutes walk from the slopes. you can see part of them in 05:49. it is located outside the opening shot, from the right. In a hope it helped you
@@SkiResortsVideo thanks!
frozen car parks cos you are at high altitude its not for winter camping it's too cold at night. carry chains it is the law October - April
Lol it would be just stupid to take a cab from north side to get back to south side since there is no road going through the mountains, these mountains are part of the Wallis Alps, its massive for real.
we agree, that's why we recommend to check the weather, so not to stuck on the swiss side. you might not find a room in Zermatt
They replaced the snow park with a downhill ski race track that is open to the public
we believe that once there will be more snow they will build the snowpark
travelers check hopefully
Going in jan 24, o think the international passight be 438 euro...😢
do you have good time there? i hope so for this price. but if the weather is good it worth every penny!
@@SkiResortsVideo very windy, totally closed one day out of 6, very limited skiing 3 days out of six, and two fabulous days of skiing.
The Swiss side seemed to have much more skiing available, and better info on the weather.
Actually…… this is about the only good Cervinia video I’ve seen.
Come to North America next year!
I've seen some video recently of people getting hassled by what I can only describe as traffic cops on skis in US resorts. I've never seen anything like that in Europe.
Apart from the cost it's put me off skiing in North America.
Yep, and their chairlifts without safety bars! On the ones where they are fitted, people get upset if you put the bar down. It's just not for me.
“Widely seen as the most beautiful ski area in the world”? What, nearly all above the tree line, barren, rocky, windswept, with lots of relatively flat featureless slopes. Apart from the iconic view of the Matterhorn from Zermatt village, there’s little of visual interest to the ski areas. And calling Zermatt & Cervinia a single ski area is a bit of a stretch. You have to do an awful lot of travelling to get to any decent ski area in Zermatt, so you’ll be lucky to get more than 2-3 hours over there, always assuming the top lifts aren’t shut due to high winds, as is often the case.
Which one is good in your opinion then?
Are you jooking about flat? Long and awful travelling to get to any decent ski area in Zermatt?? Wtf man? They have wood|tree routes. Thats are best ski resort in the world or you are France ski resort fan guy?
@@theboatthatwrecked1052 dont read that trash man
you obviously haven't skied all the pistes there are hundreds
you can ski back and forward all week between Plateau Rosa -Trockener Stag- Kleine Matterhorn Gornergratt etc etc and thats without crossing to the pistes below Castor and Pollux which you could choose to do for a morning or a day. unless you call ski lifts and cable cars travelling you don't know what you are talking about.
a clueless guide for money try the local ones
you could have at least learned to pronounce the names...
Never again in this shitty old miserable resort. Not worth to spend a cent for this disgusting infrastructure!!!!
