      Can you all take that list one step further and provide a list of those that make the 22 ARC AR for lefties so we're not having to wade through all those in the list to find those that do left hand eject, every thing else ambi (charge/safety). I'd be interested in a match grade AR but want left eject plus ambi. I currently have no AR's, but the 22 ARC has finally peaked my interest as a fast follow-up coyote rifle. You could simply put a * next to those in the list that do left hand and indicate what the * is for.

    Hi Hornety team. I am in the 22wmr delema. I ask you for all of us that want more and wanna see more for the 22wmr. Ok we need a 30gr v-max with higher BC or 40gr @ the 2200fps speeds. If you could resolve that for the 1/16 twist 22wmr guys that would be great. 30gr -( same speed, same weight, better BC) or 40gr-( same weight, same BC, higher speeds) whichever one would be great thank you. we already have the 223 and the 22-250 for bolt guns and the 223 for the AR platform. It's like introducing the 6mm Remington when there was already the 243 Win. See how successful those WSM rounds were. Wow there's a Credmore and there's the 270 Win that out performs it. For all practical purposes there hasn't been a real round revolution since the mid 1970s and even the 7-08 wasn't any big improvement over the 7mm Mauser. Sorry but us older guys have seen it and done that. Ever heard of the 219 Donaldson Wasp from the 1950s? The 22-250 or the 250/3000 Savage replaced it which was nothing more than a necked down 250 Savage which actually is an amazing cartridge that was created in the 1920s. Don't believe overhyped over advised bullshit.

    • @Tigershark-qy2gq
      @Tigershark-qy2gq Před 8 měsíci +1

      It's risky jumping on any new cartridge that comes out. Two thirds fail and die off. I don't touch a newer caliber until I've seen it out for nearly a decade, and being well supported by the shooting community, hunters, and available positively everywhere with many bullet weights and ammo manufacturer's producing it. Look at the Winchester WSM line. The .7mm WSM and .325 WSM are already starting to die out for popularity and availability in both rifles and ammo supplies. I can see this round turning into a reloaders Wildcat in a few years. It's got about a 30% chance of lasting 10 years on the market. If it lasts that long, good chance it will last for another 50 years. Time will tell.

  • @maxsterling290
    @maxsterling290 Před 9 měsíci

    It wouldn't replace the military's 5.56, the reason is, 22 ARC is still using 6mm ARC/6.5 Grendel's case, meaning 22 ARC cartridge is pretty fat for a 22 caliber. And fatter case causes less ammo capacity for an AR rifle. Also, its muzzle velocity is way too fast, it will burn barrel much faster than that of lower speed 6mm ARC. So same ammo capacity as 6mm ARC, smaller caliber (less muzzle energy than 6mm ARC), yet shorter barrel life, that's why 22 ARC has no ballistic advantage over 6mm ARC, or no practical advantage over 223/556. The last role of 22 ARC will be set to "varmint bolt action hunting", which doesn't need to shoot lots of ammo.

      There have been factory ARs in the 6.5 Grendel configuration for decades. I bought a factory built 6.5 Grendel AR almost 15 years ago now. I know Seekins makes a 6 ARC AR and I'm sure they're not the only ones. Pretty sure Alexander Arms is still making a Grendel though I know it's not really the same people anymore
      And there's not much adapting other than a barrel, bolt and magazine. Just buy a properly headspaced bolt and gas system from the barrel manufacturer when you buy your barrel and get a magazine, good to go. I've built several varieties of AR uppers they're pretty straight forward unless you want to build a race gun or go with mismatched components

    I like Hornsby, but the claims made for this cartridge are bullshit. “A game changer”, and “ the best option for varmint hunting out of an AR-15 platform.”. I wonder if they have ever heard of the .6.5 Grendel, that is ballistically superior in every way. Plus a number of older and wildcat rounds(like the Remington 260, that wasn’t as commercialized like the 6.5 Creedmoore as an example) that can be just as good or exceed beyond the newest hyped cartridge.

    • @PineyJustice
      @PineyJustice Před 8 měsíci

      6.5 grendel lacks velocity and most of the high bc rounds fail to expand past 400 yards or so. 2200 fps is as low as you want to impact something with a rifle bullet and have it do major damage, grendel is down to 2200 fps by 300-400 yards, this will do 300+ yards further. Those older cartridges could generate the speeds yes, but they can't do it with modern high BC bullets, so they fall flat in a few hundred yards.

    Hopefully its just as inconsistent as all the current 6arc that Hornady is putting out. Would love to see 6arc ammo get better before this crap.

    It isn't an improvement over my 22-250. I'll stick with it.

      This will outperform the 22-250.... especially with heavier bullets....

      Actually, it's not. The -06 is in reference to year 1906. For example, back in aught 6, the cartridge was redesigned." The 250 in .22-250 refers to the .250 Savage which is the cartridge case it was made from.
