  • Hi Guys, Yes I am back and so are all my videos!
Thought I would give you a in-depth look at my little run about, this will be my car until the GTi Clubsport arrives.
These cars do not get enough praise, they are truly a great hot hatch with immediate throttle response, great practicality and incredible fuel economy.
You can pick one of these wonderful little cars for about £6000-£7000 for a late 2013 model and I cannot recommend them enough.
My subtle mods make a dramatic difference to the car, if you were to do those along with a set of coilovers, rear anti roll-bar and brake upgrade. You would have a absolute animal!

I have a skoda fabia vrs mk2 2010 CAVE, combi for about 4 months and never had any oil consumption issues. This car is beast and I really love the sound of the twincharger :3

Thinking about one of these for my next car, seems really cool, how hard e.g how many tools Will you need and how long will it take to remove the sound deadening?

    Hi, how's you doing?
I also own a Mk2 Fabia RS with a CTHE engine. Never have had any issues till now and it's really, I mean really quick. The best I could achieve was 6.0 seconds from 0-100 km/h with removed rear weights and Carbon Intake. But the problem is, the more often you launch the car hard, the more heat it produces and the slower you are over time.
Can't imagine that removing the sound deadening from the supercharger brings THAT much, but I'm still not very experienced with cars to do that on my own, so better I leave them there - lol.
I would recommend putting a 5W40 oil (Addinol super light - German brand). It feels like the engine is revving way faster.
    Cheers

I can confirm try and avoid before 2013 because of the timing chain tensioner. I was lucky with my 2011 Fabia SE TSI because the chain had just jumped a few teeth so i just got it replaced along with the tensioner. Its working all okay now.

I have a 2011 fabia vrs estate in blue. The estate must be rare. I have only seen less than a handful of others. I have owned it for 9 years, no engine issues so far. During lockdown when I was doing only short journeys to work and back each day, it was burning a lot of oil. Now I am back to my normal long motorway runs, it burns hardly any oil at all.

it is very fast, by removing the sound deadening on the super charger did it stop that 1 sec lag at a junction?

I had a Polo GTI 2013 with the updated engine, and after about a month of ownership (It was bought 2nd hand with 18k miles) it had a misfire and needed a new engine.... There are still issues with this engine even on the later ones. However since having the replacement engine it was fine.
I also agree with you on the speed, the polo I had felt so fast to what the stats are.

If you don't think it handles that well then fit an aftermarket ARB. The jabbasport one transformed the MK1s handling and as the MK2 is virtually unchanged I imagine it's an easy fit

Great video, thanks for sharing. Is there any easy way to identify the 2013 model other than by reg alone? I am thinking od buying a 13 reg VRS but am concerned that it might be a 2012 model registered in 2013. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We got lucky with ours, all I see on the facebook group is disaster after disaster!
If you are dead set on one, then make sure it has a CTHE and NOT the CAVE....also that kinda answers your question.

I absolutely love mine, fantastic car the amount of people that ask whats in it is hilarious! I've got a custom exhaust system, forge fmic, kw v2 coilovers, forge boost pipes, map and dsg map running 220 with the print out. It's capable of more but i think 220 is enough without straining the engine too much!
I have a few vids of the exhaust note also on my channel, thanks for the vid Dan!

Great I also have an fabia VRS, in groan with white rims and a white roof. I really think it is a great car and a bargain. I live in the Netherlands and there are only 99 there, so it is really rare and there fore really special in my opinion. But I am wondering if it is really a great thing to remove the sound defining in the engine compartment. And what carbon things you use on you’re shifting pedals?

Welcome back brother. My Mrs has my old 2013 Ibiza Cupra 1.4tsi and I agree it was a fantastic little car, gave me 0 problems at all. I've since moved onto the bigger brother Leon Cupra 280 (like your S3) and still miss some of the characteristics of the Ibiza eg how quick it shifts off the line. Did you trade your S3 in for your Clubsport or still got it?

Alan Tang just keep an eye on the oil mainly but, there can be issues with the oil squirters which can be fixed under warranty. Pricey if done out of your own pocket I believe. They're a lot quicker than most people think, especially with DSG. Also ensure the engine oil is heated up properly every time before putting your foot down and that helps massively - loads of people unaware of that point.
