Thanks you for your response to the criticism to the FOO. I drove my Ocean over 5000 miles less than three months. Yes some issues. Unfortunately I got rear ended over a month ago. Still don't know if my ocean is total or not. I planned to get another FOO if my FOO is total.
Thank you for making this video. As a Fisker owner and a fan of MB I noticed a lot of basic misses that were surprising considering how intelligent he is. That car had only a few hundred miles and was sitting at a Misubishi Dealership for some reason, I’m certain the software was not updated. That being said, yes there are software issues… the OTA updates have been addressing them on a regular cadence. I hope Marques does a follow up review with a proper Ocean in good order.
I'm pretty sure he's somehow affiliated with a competitor or just got extremely angry about their communication with him. All in all it's bizarre when he's been so extremely patient with Tesla, Apple etc - most of the points in his video are total non points, and many of them actually bonuses that he flips 180. I'm surprised people aren't more sceptical in the comments, when the review was such nonsense but i guess that's the frightening nature of the parasocial relationships and fanboyism.

I'm confident he'll release a follow-up video addressing this review. I work for a company whose product he reviewed, and we always heed his recommendations due to his reputation.
People have biases and his was shown through his take on this new model, I found it telling where he said he knew the software was not the most current but he was reviewing what he had and not what it could be. That is fair enough but then Tesla needs a big take down for not delivering FSD for years after promising it’s just around the corner.
I don’t get why there is so much hate for Fisker! It’s great to see a video in response. I hope this can get shared enough and get the views it deserves!
Some people just think it makes them sound clever. For others I think it may be because some GOP politicians made a stink about government loans to the Fisker company that made the Karma and that is stuck in their badly informed heads. Plus of course for some anything coming from California is considered left wing and thus hated.
3300 miles into my FOO ownership and i love it more every day. Its efficiency around town on 20 mile “honeydo” days is awesome (i used 24 miles of charge and drove 26.6 miles actual) and the comfort is outstanding. I have taken it from Seattle to Portland 3x so far (its 150 each way) and i never need to stop to stretch my legs. The highway range is less efficient but it has improved slightly in the past month which tells me either the car is “learning” my driving habits or updates are working. If this thing gets me over 300 on the highway with conservative /speed limit driving, its gonna be a no brainer.

@@MDbandit10 none of my problems are any worse than previously owned Chevy’s , Pontiacs and VW’s. Worst “problem” I have experienced so far is “emergency auto braking system failure”. But, since i never needed “emergency auto braking” in any car i have ever owned and dont plan to enable it on my FOO, its a nothing burger to me. Besides, one of the next few OTA’s will cure that as well.
If you look closely at his video, it is clear that it is still on a very early software version. Many of the issues he commented on have been fixed in the 2 or 3 version updates that the Fisker has received so far. We are hopefully getting one update per month for the next couple of months to fix most if not all the remaining issues. Whilst some comments were indeed true and some issues remain, he was reviewing an out of date vehicle, that is, I guess, why Fisker requested he wait for an updated version.
What's their innovation? EV's are already numerous, they've been done, at scale, and safely, by many companies. Fisker makes the crappiest EV on the market, and it's expensive. They're innovating neither on features, performance, price, or tech. Explain please.
@@jlipin3 if you want to ask a real question, I’m happy to answer. Expensive? Its cheaper than almost any other comp on the market. They are having issues just like any other ev startup or legacy getting into evs. Innovate : make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products. They have numerous features that they have designed. Some have been used previously. They are trying to mainstream some. Assembly at a carbon neutral factory. Utilizing recycled materials wherever possible in the construction of the vehicle. Removing a glove box, which apparently is a crime against humanity. These are just a couple things off the top of my head. I’m not going to bother with more because based off your initial question you are obviously biased and don’t care to listen.
@@1k2r3i4s They aren't cheaper than a Model Y or even a VW ID4 for AWD trims (which should be a given on an SUV anyways). The Volvo EX30 is also made from "everything sustainable and recycled blah blah" and will cost 47k for dual motor. To have this many things that don't work after forking over 70k is a disaster. These guys blew their budget on marketing. I had a Fisker reservation, canceled it. Glad I did. I have been following closely. I've seen the forum posts about people who literally get stranded because they can't unlock their car. I know the COO Henrik's wife literally had the car die on her multiple times on the highway which could have resulted in her losing her life. I know the NHSTA is investigating MULTIPLE reports of this happening to many more people. There are multiple open lemon law lawsuits against this car in California alone as unsafe to drive and imploring Fisker to refund purchases. I'm at least a little up to speed on how much of a disaster this car is. But go on, keep defending it.
I think as a new owner he is challenging Fisker to do better, everyone knows production was early compared to most auto manuf. He of course wanted views and the headline helps accomplish that. The vehicle will sell itself and grab it's share of the market, will US or European sales be greater in 2024. ? Great response video! I made a comment under his video that his review felt personal. It's a shame he resorted to sensationalism. The crazy thing is, he DIDN'T need to! He has a huge following who hangs on his every word. Most of the things you pointed out I was yelling while watching his video! He lost a subscriber today behind that bs.
I own FOO and driven 1800 miles and love it. Great review clarification on negatively that some short seller wants people to believe. Most of the issue are features or software that is getting resolved on every OTA update. Thanks for your review.
I like MKBHD, but I also appreciate this video responding to his review. It's a good reminder that reviewers cannot provide detailed, accurate insight into a car after driving a loaner for a few days.

I bought my FOO last year & I agree with most of what the famous CZcamsr mentioned. The only exception being that the FOO was the worst car. I’ve had issues on the latest OS with both the cameras & the doggy windows. Both instances, a soft reset did NOT fix the issue. I’ve had to call a service tech to come recalibrate my doggy windows. For the issue with the camera not resetting, I had to trigger a sleep cycle. One of my qualms has been with the visors not extending & trying to fix something that wasn’t broken. The other issue has been the wireless charger, depending on which phone you have, the wireless charging doesn’t sync well with my iPhone 15 max. I’ve experienced rollback on almost every hill I’ve been on. Lastly, the biggest issue has been both the key fob & the drain in the battery. The key fob was so bad that Fisker recently started sending something called “key2”. When I went to Japan for 2 weeks in December, I left my Fisker at full 80% & when I came back, it was around 20% battery left.
Thanks for this video. I have been going back and forth over purchasing an Ocean for quite some time. I was an early reservation holder from early on and cancelled my order a few months back. I was going to reconsider until the video in question soured my opinion of the vehicle. You have answered EVERY question I had and silenced all of my doubts. MKBHD should genuinely be embarrassed to put out his half baked review videos. He does this with nearly every single car “review” he does. He had some of the earliest Teslas, he sure as hell knows about soft resetting a car like this.
@Ocean1_FSR you have to admit there are too many little annoying bugs. I feel like you are trying too hard to make the car look perfect. I got my FOO same time as you and i notice this issues every time I drive it. What annoys me about your video is the fact that you keep says to soft reset the car...that to me is insane. If i have to reset the car every day... In 2 years with the Tesla i soft reseted the car only once. Point is, for the money and what was promised i expect everything to work reliably every single time. I dont think its a good ideea to accept a product that costs 70-80k and look for workarounds on issues. Lets be fair and keep Fisker accountable for this.
@@Ocean1_FSR you are missing the point. Taco trays and glove box, Hollywood mode stuff it's a matter of preference so I don't care about that. But the keyfob, solar roof statistics, software in general, cameras being unavailable, windows not opening, car rolling back(a regular ICE that is automatic is not rolling back. Even new stick shift cars have Hill hold and auto hold), the red/blue display (for me it makes me dizzy), these are valid points. Also not to mention the car was delivered with only 1 keyfob because it was said you can use the phone as a key. You can't even preheat your car from the app...so let's be real, let's make these concerns known to Fisker. I personally am tired of all these promises and I can see why everyone is frustrated. They rushed the car to customers to save the stock price and it fired back on them... unfortunately like most others I am also a shareholder. Regardless, good luck with the channel and keep going with the videos. Let's hope 2.0 brings something good.

This is insufferable. You're grasping at straws to dispute every issue MKB called out. You're going so low as to make casual gender-biased attacks about the mirror. Chill out, I had to pop a zit one day and found the mirror to be a little annoying to use. Many "men" are attentive to their looks before entering an office or gathering, not everyone wears a ball cap. BTW, try making sure your telltales (LKAS warning) aren't showing when you're trying to dispute their prominence. I get it, you like the car. I like my FOO as well. But it's a very frustrating owner experience and the software has a long ways to go. Just yesterday I had to force a sleep cycle just to get audible ADAS beeping to stop (and before you claim ICC reset will fix it, no it won't, it never has). Right now I'm anxiously waiting on the 2.0 update hoping it fixes a lot of issues for me.

You don't understand. I address his issues 1 at a time and explain what would have fixed it. ONE soft reset would have fixed them all. He is also operating under a very old software as he didn't even have 1.11 That was evident as his screen didn't show trips. He gets many things flat out wrong so I felt compelled to do my own video.
@@Ocean1_FSR you have some valid points but as far as having to reset a screen or Bluetooth is unacceptable in this day in age. As an IT professional I can tell you I have had servers and software that have been on for years without 1 reset. Bluetooth is not at a first generation nor is car cameras. Which concerns me that the software that Fisker released wasn't ready. You can't fault him for pointing that out. You can point him for missing a few points. 1) glove box, 2) visor which I think is a great idea minus the way the mirror part opens, 3) not letting us know what was the software version he was on and letting the public know what is the latest version that is out. I see flaws in both your videos but the fact is this is important to talk about because I want Fisker to do well because competition benefits everyone.
@@kilxler every EV maker including Tesla has to do soft resets. They are very much like our phones that need shut down and rebooted. Each update has made the Ocean's software far more stable. He was running on an old (it's unclear how old) software. I currently have 1.11 and looking forward to 2.0. he was probably running on 1.10 or prior
@@Ocean1_FSR it's not an excuse for me. I'm sorry I don't care if Tesla, Rivian, Fisker, or whoever needs to still have an option to have to reset software is to me unacceptable. There has been software in cars for years. Hyundai, Toyota, Ford, BMW, all have software and never have to reset software to get cameras to work nor Bluetooth at this point. I come in from the IT approach and at this point there is no way that those two standards should need any resetting. Phones get updated all the time and yes software breaks certain things like Bluetooth but you are on your phone way more than you are in a car for the majority of drivers. If these were new technologies and didn't have established protocols and standards that are followed then I would understand but this is not the case.
When I read the title of his video I didn't watch it, waiting for a owner's response! :-P As I assumed his were mosty complains from a tech guy about first world problems. And it seems, I guessed right. Considering also that as a Tesla afecionado, he should be used to driving unfinished products! The Ocean is the only EV currently on the market that appeals to me. However, I will reserve my final judgement on the car, for if and when it will finally have ACC and the solar panel actually working. Assuming it will happen sooner, rather than later!
Wait so in 4000 miles / 5 months of owning your car you said you've gotten in your car 2-3 times and the screen was blank / wouldn't start the screen but soft resetting it fixed it. How is that acceptable / not a bad thing? I got pissed when my 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T would sometimes reboot the screen when i'd get in every 5-6k miles but that was after like 40-50k miles and my 2019 tesla has taken like 2-3 seconds for the screen to pop up like 2-3 times over 30-40k miles (i've never had to hard reboot the tesla, I once put it in service mode to resync the camera's which took 15 seconds). But having to hardboot the car already multiple times seems like MKBHD was kinda right in his assessment.
oh man watching further and you're mentioning how he should have waited about 4-5 seconds to click the unlock button again??? idk this just seems like you're coping with a big reviewer taking a dig at the car. Also he did talk about the range he said he gets no where near the 360 miles I believe he said 310-320 (which is pretty good considering my tesla gets like 270-280 currently).
Sorry also, is the keyfob designed like that or are all the symbols already worn out? I've had 5-6 cars all for 4+ years and never seen that i'm genuinely curious if that's a design thing or is it fading (at least it looks like to me).
I understand as an owner you have your bias but guessing that his car may have needed a software reset etc is not debunking. You also have many unreasonable expectations eg expecting someone to know that they have to wait 4 seconds to see if the door unlocks etc. The fact that the manufacturer asked him not to review the car before a software update should pretty much tell you how much confidence they have in their own car.
I watched a youtube video today where the solar roof grid was projecting the squares all inside the interior on a sunny day. Is there a shade or some other solution to eliminate it?

One thing I like most on the Ocean1 are the solar panels which I didn't know exists on EV cars until I saw Marques review. The solar panels could be a life saver, I used to own 2016 and 2023 Leafs and have pushed them to almost empty in the past LOL. I find most of Marques reviews fair but I'm surprised by his headline on his Fisker's review when the issues were more on software which you would think that he would first try to either do a reset or check to see if the car needs a software update. I don't think he was purposely knocking Fiskers or that he favors Tesla over other EV brands, he has been critical of Tesla in the past. I regularly watch Marcus and now a new subscriber here. I just noticed another a 4 month old Ocean review from Doug DeMuro with the title "...Ocean is the Quirkiest, Newest Electric SUV" I'll go check that out 🧐
Great and informative video, thank you. The biggest issue MKB brought up were about the warning lights and system failure indications that he just sort of brushed over and did not say if it ever impacted the driving performance. I am curious what were the specifics of the warnings you got before software update and if they impacted the performance of the vehicle.
Almost all warnings were brief and never affected any of the driving experience. The most common warning was the front camera was disabled or the emergency braking was disabled. Those came and went about as fast as they came up. After update 1.11 those rarely happen any more. As I state in the video, I only get warnings now when it is dark and foggy or dark and rainy and that is the front camera. That should go away after the digital radar is active.
Nice garage. How much solar regen do you get in there? Other than that, the Ocean is a nice option. Still to many open bugs for me with lack of service areas around me should something go wrong.
@Ocean1_FSR considering Fisker claims between 1500 and 2000 miles a year, you must not drive much. I would spec it out with open sky of it were an option. But if people enjoy it, hope they are happy with it. Solar portion is not worth it for me. I hope they still make the Alaska. I hope they turn it around and sales pick up.
Few things, MKBHD, Edmunds, and Carwow’s FOO all have buggy software/sensor problems and is the main issue with the car and why it’s currently considered terrible, but can be addressed with software updates. The vanity mirrors are comically small, like the size of a stick of gum and unusable. For steering wheel issue, the correct position to hold is 9 and 3. 10 and 2 is pre-airbags and you aren’t supposed to hold there as you can break your arms in an airbag deployment if your arms are above the airbag. At 9 and 3 you could inadvertently activate the touch sensitive buttons, so it is a legit complaint.
Listen I'm an shareholder and FOO owner. MKBHD isn’t all wrong and he's not all right either. Fisker has self inflicted wounds exacerbated by poor execution and communication. I'm fairly certain they'll make it through this.

My ram 1500 does the same stuff thing with the screen blanking out. At least with a Fisker you can reset it. With my ram truck, sometimes it doesn't come back up till the next day. Software problems are common in lots of new vehicles and vehicles built in the past 5-10 years. At least the Fisker can be reset and updated unlike my gas drinking work truck that needs about 22 gallons a day.
I don't have an Ocean but I've followed the company and have been curious about their progress in the EV market. I saw the other video and do agree that the title of the review and the actual review did not align. Most of the gripes were very small and were related to software where there was even an admission that they would likely be fixed in the 2.0 update. The visor, the tray,.... those were silly gripes. I did finish the video being left perplexed and not convinced that the vehicle was not "buyable".
Some reviewers, if they get a broken car, send it back to the manufacturer and tell them to send another later when it is more ready to be reviewed. I think MKBHD should do that in the future - rather than point out a long list of things, some of which apparently are already fixed by the time most people could see the review and purchase.
One thing stands out to me. You mentioned that the Fisker will not have adaptive cruise until 3 more software version updates. Whaaat? My 2016 Civic has ACC. Why a high priced car in 2023 would not have ACC is a mystery. Does that reflect the company’s rush to get to market or a design prioritization philosophy or both? Either way it doesn’t instil confidence (same can be said of the rollback issue).
Well, since this video was made many features have been added thru OTAs. The rollback has now been addressed with Hill Hold thru an OTA. We still don't have adaptive cruise. Why not? I think it's because the Ocean will rely on 4D radar for that and it's not active yet. I just got 2.0 update and ACC is probably coming in 3.0 update but not 100% sure currently. The car is amazing and it's my favorite by far.
everything you pointed out though was the truth. he said the mirror was small. instead of just agreeing , you make a video, and try to sass him for why men need a mirror, but your own wife said it was small.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I had a deposit on an Ocean but it just seemed to drag on with only promises of a start date in Southeast Michigan. I finally spotted one in the parking lot of the Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan but I couldn’t see the license plate. I’m really concerned about service for a new brand. It’s a lot of money and a very new product. I’m retired and have a perfectly good 2019 Cadillac XT5 that’s paid for, so the idea of buying a brand new brand with an unknown service network scares me.
It's funny I'm watching this video again because I enjoy the videos on the fiscar ocean as I fully intend to have one in my driveway. The nitpick that some people do is an oddity I'm coming from or will be coming from driving a 2006 Ford F350 a 1969 Camaro a 2002 trans Am a 2000 Jaguar VP (that I frequently put into neutral purposefully just because I'm so used to stick and enjoy it very much) and my wife's 2017 Honda CRV (with all the bells and whistles that do so called "malfunction" because this is tech and that is normal operation) Just so many things that you point out in this video makes me want to tear his video apart to an extent. Also to an extent he is correct but I do feel he had an odd sense of bias I could be wrong but that also could be because he's so used to more perfected vehicles and not something that was just launched. Yes fisker should have in the wider scope of things release the car with less issues and its functionality intact but the point is the owners buying these vehicles knew all of this information or at least that's what I gather. Just keep doing these videos as the car company while they may be on their last legs who knows right now as of this date Tuesday May 2nd certainly hope they're not cuz I still fully intend to have one to enjoy point blank That's it It's just a car with four wheels to enjoy I love the styling I love the concept and I loved the untapped capabilities that I know for a 100% fact of this car has that are just bogged down by lack of software. Great video! I was appalled at the other guys click bait title but then his review was mostly lauding the car other than the software issues. He was quite picky on the small things like the mirror. If he needs to look at himself so much he can look in the larger rear view mirror. Wasting his review time on that minor detail was quite petty imo. I also noticed the fact that he had no idea there was a "glovebox" under both seats. Again showing his lack of knowledge about the car. It's quite obvious that he reviewed an early produced car that hadn't had any OTA updates. This was done on purpose and it was a Tesla paid hit piece imo. Fear brings Desperation and Tesla can see the competition coming and are losing market share daily. I cant wait to see the reviews after April 4.0 kicks in. Well done on your counter-review. Thanks for all the informative videos. Great work. I am really keen on getting a Fisker but my reservation is the long-term viability of the company. I am a shareholder of Fisker and the stock has gotten absolutely hammered in the last few months. To the point where the cash flow of the company is being questioned. Have you heard about any big investors buying in to prop things up? How are sales in the US going? The car seems great and I really don't want another Tesla so the Fisker is top of my list if I was sure the company will still be operational in 5 years.
Don't be discouraged. Fisker is a nice car. But, u need to know that 10 & 2 is how older generation folk, like yourself, were taught ... due to the circumference of steering wheels in the 50's & 60's. Admit it! They were huge! So, the Diameter of wheels has gotten smaller. So now, kids are taught to drive with their hands at 9 & 3. As they say .. times have changed

Nobody is going to get 1,500-2,000 miles of range per year from the solar panels on the Fisker Ocean! Remember, solar panel output goes down with temperature and car roofs are hot places. The solar panels are not vented. Plus, people like to park in shady places. Probably the most anyone is going to get, and I'm talking the top 1% of owners, is a few hundred miles/year. The typical owner is going to get about 100-150 miles per year, or less than $5 worth of electricity per year (at $0.12/kWh). Just trying to keep it real.

No, not at all. I addressed his issues one at a time as he was running on an old software that hadn't been updated. Each issue could have been solved with a soft reset, but guess what. Every issue could have been solved with ONE. I drive mine everyday. I know it well.
@@Ocean1_FSR to be honest, there are some issues with Ocean One, some of them objective and others subjective. For me personally, a huge deal is missing ventilated front seats, I would not buy it without this feature, so maybe the glove box is a big deal for MKBHD, who knows. These boxes under the seats look impractical to me compared to a regular glove box, but it's just me. As you and him both pointed out, some of the issues will be fixed with 2.0 update, that's great. Oh, and Tesla has been building cars for a long time compared to Fisker, and the window on my friend's brand new Model Y didn't want to completely close 😁 Another friend has BMW iX, so they live in a dealership, the car has tons of software errors. So, the most important thing is that the owners of Ocean One love this car 🤘
@@vofking the single biggest issue has been the funky fob. Other things have mostly been very minor. Each update has made it more complete. It's a shame he had an older one without any recent updates.
All EVs are essentially computers on wheels. At work I have to reboot my computer at least once a week due to error messages, updates etc To some extent it applies to ICE cars too, the latest models
Lol yes. Opinions are subjective. Thats why you find a critic that closely matches your views/needs and watch them. I agree with MKBHD - its only fair to review on current FW version. No need to wait for an update.
His job is to review the car that he has. It's not his fault the car doesn't have a certain software update. If you want to talk about the software, talk to Fisker. Also everyone's experience is different. Someone's Ocean could be fine, one could have lots of issues like this one. A review is simply talking about your experience, and this is his. Also the lack of a traditional glovebox was not the major issue with this vehicle.
Not true. The Ocean has to be manually updated meaning it's not automatic. It must be accepted. He knowingly tested an Ocean that was several updates behind. What he was driving isn't what anyone else is driving, + his click bait title.
His review wasn't perfect, but you also are clearly fanboying the car. If I need to constantly soft reset my car for it to function then something is clearly wrong. Also there's no way to know if soft reset would fix all his issues. It sure is easy to say that everything software related gets fixed by it. Even the company is not confident in their product without update.
obviously he had a sensationalized title, he probably underestimated that he could individually make the difference between a company surviving and going out of business; pretty substantial mistake on his part. Of course you're right, his actual review was basically they just need to fix and debug all the software issues. You're also 100% right it probably just needed a soft reset, etc. to solve 90% of nitpick issues. However, that is a pretty big issue to put out a car that still needs software debugged (that's just a fact).
This is an unfortunate example of how our modern Information Age works. Guy with big following and not much experience with the car gets, at this point, over a million views. Guy living with the car for over 4000 miles, at this point has 3622 views. Negativity gets clicks and really negative headlines get a lot of clicks. That said, a lot of people who just want negative information about EV’s or the Ocean watched Marques’s video to get what they wanted. People wanting basic information will seek out this channel, so I think it still has an impact.
I believe Volvo also has a certain amount of Boosts (power launch) you can do on the EX30. Also, I think the Auto Focus guy isn't that great of a reviewer. Same with TechCrunch BS.
That is more of a suggestion than a rule. The better and recommended place is determined by the manufacturer and that is determined by the steering wheel. A 9-3 in the Ocean has no grip. There is not a place to wrap your fingers. More like a very low 10-2 is best for the Ocean
The unlock thing is ridiculous. Cars have successfully listened for their unlock radio signal for decades without any trouble. Even when they sit for a couple months unused. It is a foolish design that this one needs to be woken up and then asked a second time to unlock.
This is a pretty fair take down video of the Marques video. I agree with you on the lack of problem with the glove box of the mirror (though my daughters would never own the car because of the visor thing so girls are different and Marques has a big female following). The fundamental problem, I think, you have is two-fold. First, the statement "hyper mode is more than you need" is shockingly wrong in a world where Tesla exists and it lives in hyper mode all day. If Fisker is software limiting the car's performance in a world other makers are not, they will be out of business sooner than the strong vehicle should be. It's like "underclocking" a PC. No one does it. But if Fisker can't support the car running in full performance mode, that's a bad thing, right? Otherwise, I think the new EVs out there (Tesla, Rivian, Fisker) are computers on wheels. They aren't cars with tech. In a world of computers on wheels, the operating system matters. It's why the Windows phone never really worked. It's why Samsung got beaten by Apple and even Pixel for a little bit in mobile phones in spite of on par or superior hardware. Most traditional cars have more luxury and feel and room and even design to most modern full and true EVs. You are buying a EV either because you care about the environment, or want a computer on wheels and the tech it inspires and involves. The Tesla OS is polished and clean. If you're competing in that world with a buggy computer you are in trouble. And if you have owned your car since November and it still doesn't tell you what the sun roof is doing, Fisker won't make it. They can't be this slow. They have to be updating constantly. That said, I hear Tesla still can't run auto wipers, so it's not like every computer OS is perfect in this new world :). How many miles have you driven the Cybertruck, Rivian, Model Y/3, S/X? You clearly know the Ocean better than Marques. But you clearly don't know the competition as well. And that's why Marques said what he said. A bad OS in a computer limits how good your hardware is. And you confirm Fisker limits the hardware performance. And that you're waiting for a release 4 POINT releases away. You may not even own the car that long if they don't pick up the pace. In all, though, I enjoyed your thorough contribution here. It was worth my time. Marques IS a Tesla fan boy. You are wearing a Fisker hat on a channel called Ocean1. You may also be a fan boi?
I fully admit that I am a Fisker Fan and the Ocean has made me a proud owner of it. Having said that though, I keep my videos totally honest. My biggest single grip with his review, which compelled me to do a rebuttal, was his Sensationalized headline that was clearly Click-Bait which with almost a million subscribers he clearly doesn't need. Also, I bet he wouldn't have reviewed an Iphone that was several updates behind, especially if Apple had asked him. If you have the time, watch my 4K mile review. I think it is pretty irresponsible of Marques Brownlee to call his video "the worst car he has ever driven!" Knowing that He has one of worlds biggest tech following and how big of an Effect this might have on this new startup brand, that is very fragile and how much this would affect Fiskers stock value! I mean the car is not that bad! A new Nissan leaf or a chevy bolt are way worse and unispiring in many aspects. He also says that he like most of the things about the car, but the only things that are bad are software related which are fixable over time. Tesla and VW also had lots of software bugs and issues in the start of their EV startup!
That CZcamsrs name is Marcus Browne and he’s a tech enthusiast from the MKBHD channel, but I won’t really say he’s loyal to Tesla even though he might own one, but at the same time his views are not really bias in that respects because he has reviewed non-Tesla EV’s and has given some good reviews, but one part of your video I’d like to address was the glove box, now I’m sure you’re aware that NOBODY would ever think to look for a glove box underneath the passenger and driver seats, it’s basically located in an unconventional part of the car but then you can’t really blame Marcus as like you stated he only had the vehicle for a day or two so he would not have known. The only thing is Marcus definitely should’ve at least waited until the software update to have a proper review of the vehicle and not just quickly jump into it, that’s my only gripe with his review, but that was a good response to his video which cleared up all of the issues he had with the vehicle!,
Fully agree with you - he reviews non-Teslas with same objectiveness as with Teslas. But there are people here that are overly sensitive about criticism to their car - criticism that they most likely privately ventilate occasionally, and issues that frustrate them as much as it did Marcus.
Before reviewing the car, he should’ve read the manual, it’s digital, in the screen menu. He would learn about gloveboxes underneath the seats, Hollywood mode, and other things, like outdated software. Otherwise his viewers assumed he did his homework. And that’s misleading.
@@TheOnlyGreatGuy Actually come to think about it you do have a good point there, but in terms of Marcus doing his due diligence to actually read up on the car specifications with the manual, I feel like he just avoided all of that and wanted to rush into the review and get it over and done with, but he was well aware that the software update wasn’t available during the filming of his review which he even mentioned to his audience at the beginning of the video, but then what would it have costed for him to have waited until the software update and then do his full in-depth review?,
glove box....tesla have a glovebox and you can have storage boxes under the seat. obviously the glovebox is not in the normal position that it is in most cars
My Rivian doesn't have a traditional glovebox, and no one complains. Fisker shouldn't be blammed when it's not a problem in another vehicle.

Thank you for making this video. As a Fisker owner and a fan of MB I noticed a lot of basic misses that were surprising considering how intelligent he is. That car had only a few hundred miles and was sitting at a Misubishi Dealership for some reason, I’m certain the software was not updated. That being said, yes there are software issues… the OTA updates have been addressing them on a regular cadence. I hope Marques does a follow up review with a proper Ocean in good order.
I'm pretty sure he's somehow affiliated with a competitor or just got extremely angry about their communication with him. All in all it's bizarre when he's been so extremely patient with Tesla, Apple etc - most of the points in his video are total non points, and many of them actually bonuses that he flips 180. I'm surprised people aren't more sceptical in the comments, when the review was such nonsense but i guess that's the frightening nature of the parasocial relationships and fanboyism.

People have biases and his was shown through his take on this new model, I found it telling where he said he knew the software was not the most current but he was reviewing what he had and not what it could be. That is fair enough but then Tesla needs a big take down for not delivering FSD for years after promising it’s just around the corner.

Some people just think it makes them sound clever.

3300 miles into my FOO ownership and i love it more every day. Its efficiency around town on 20 mile “honeydo” days is awesome (i used 24 miles of charge and drove 26.6 miles actual) and the comfort is outstanding.
I have taken it from Seattle to Portland 3x so far (its 150 each way) and i never need to stop to stretch my legs. The highway range is less efficient but it has improved slightly in the past month which tells me either the car is “learning” my driving habits or updates are working. If this thing gets me over 300 on the highway with conservative /speed limit driving, its gonna be a no brainer.

Worst “problem” I have experienced so far is “emergency auto braking system failure”. But, since i never needed “emergency auto braking” in any car i have ever owned and dont plan to enable it on my FOO, its a nothing burger to me. Besides, one of the next few OTA’s will cure that as well.
Good review! AutoFocus was just playing on all the negative fudd out there! Anyone who has been following Fisker could see right through that.
If you look closely at his video, it is clear that it is still on a very early software version. Many of the issues he commented on have been fixed in the 2 or 3 version updates that the Fisker has received so far. We are hopefully getting one update per month for the next couple of months to fix most if not all the remaining issues. Whilst some comments were indeed true and some issues remain, he was reviewing an out of date vehicle, that is, I guess, why Fisker requested he wait for an updated version.

What's their innovation? EV's are already numerous, they've been done, at scale, and safely, by many companies. Fisker makes the crappiest EV on the market, and it's expensive. They're innovating neither on features, performance, price, or tech. Explain please.

Innovate : make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.
They have numerous features that they have designed. Some have been used previously. They are trying to mainstream some. Assembly at a carbon neutral factory. Utilizing recycled materials wherever possible in the construction of the vehicle. Removing a glove box, which apparently is a crime against humanity. These are just a couple things off the top of my head. I’m not going to bother with more because based off your initial question you are obviously biased and don’t care to listen.

The Volvo EX30 is also made from "everything sustainable and recycled blah blah" and will cost 47k for dual motor.
To have this many things that don't work after forking over 70k is a disaster. These guys blew their budget on marketing.
I had a Fisker reservation, canceled it. Glad I did. I have been following closely. I've seen the forum posts about people who literally get stranded because they can't unlock their car. I know the COO Henrik's wife literally had the car die on her multiple times on the highway which could have resulted in her losing her life. I know the NHSTA is investigating MULTIPLE reports of this happening to many more people. There are multiple open lemon law lawsuits against this car in California alone as unsafe to drive and imploring Fisker to refund purchases.
I'm at least a little up to speed on how much of a disaster this car is. But go on, keep defending it.
I think as a new owner he is challenging Fisker to do better, everyone knows production was early compared to most auto manuf. He of course wanted views and the headline helps accomplish that. The vehicle will sell itself and grab it's share of the market, will US or European sales be greater in 2024. ? I bought my FOO last year & I agree with most of what the famous CZcamsr mentioned. The only exception being that the FOO was the worst car. I’ve had issues on the latest OS with both the cameras & the doggy windows. Both instances, a soft reset did NOT fix the issue. I’ve had to call a service tech to come recalibrate my doggy windows. For the issue with the camera not resetting, I had to trigger a sleep cycle. One of my qualms has been with the visors not extending & trying to fix something that wasn’t broken. The other issue has been the wireless charger, depending on which phone you have, the wireless charging doesn’t sync well with my iPhone 15 max. I’ve experienced rollback on almost every hill I’ve been on. Lastly, the biggest issue has been both the key fob & the drain in the battery. The key fob was so bad that Fisker recently started sending something called “key2”. When I went to Japan for 2 weeks in December, I left my Fisker at full 80% & when I came back, it was around 20% battery left.
FOO owner here since October, 4500miles and I love it, issues are improving with each update!!

MKBHD should genuinely be embarrassed to put out his half baked review videos. He does this with nearly every single car “review” he does. He had some of the earliest Teslas, he sure as hell knows about soft resetting a car like this.

I got my FOO same time as you and i notice this issues every time I drive it. What annoys me about your video is the fact that you keep says to soft reset the car...that to me is insane. If i have to reset the car every day... In 2 years with the Tesla i soft reseted the car only once. Point is, for the money and what was promised i expect everything to work reliably every single time. I dont think its a good ideea to accept a product that costs 70-80k and look for workarounds on issues. Lets be fair and keep Fisker accountable for this.
You are missing the point. I take each thing he states one at a time. One soft reset or hard reset or an update would have solved every issue he had.

But the keyfob, solar roof statistics, software in general, cameras being unavailable, windows not opening, car rolling back(a regular ICE that is automatic is not rolling back. Even new stick shift cars have Hill hold and auto hold), the red/blue display (for me it makes me dizzy), these are valid points. Also not to mention the car was delivered with only 1 keyfob because it was said you can use the phone as a key. You can't even preheat your car from the app...so let's be real, let's make these concerns known to Fisker. I personally am tired of all these promises and I can see why everyone is frustrated. They rushed the car to customers to save the stock price and it fired back on them... unfortunately like most others I am also a shareholder. Regardless, good luck with the channel and keep going with the videos. Let's hope 2.0 brings something good.

Chill out, I had to pop a zit one day and found the mirror to be a little annoying to use. Many "men" are attentive to their looks before entering an office or gathering, not everyone wears a ball cap.
BTW, try making sure your telltales (LKAS warning) aren't showing when you're trying to dispute their prominence.
I get it, you like the car. I like my FOO as well. But it's a very frustrating owner experience and the software has a long ways to go. Just yesterday I had to force a sleep cycle just to get audible ADAS beeping to stop (and before you claim ICC reset will fix it, no it won't, it never has). Right now I'm anxiously waiting on the 2.0 update hoping it fixes a lot of issues for me.

If half your solutions are ‘soft reset’, then fundamentally theres something wrong with their architecture and/or inadequate testing plans.
You don't understand. I address his issues 1 at a time and explain what would have fixed it. ONE soft reset would have fixed them all. He is also operating under a very old software as he didn't even have 1.11 That was evident as his screen didn't show trips. He gets many things flat out wrong so I felt compelled to do my own video.
@@Ocean1_FSR you have some valid points but as far as having to reset a screen or Bluetooth is unacceptable in this day in age. As an IT professional I can tell you I have had servers and software that have been on for years without 1 reset. Bluetooth is not at a first generation nor is car cameras. Which concerns me that the software that Fisker released wasn't ready. You can't fault him for pointing that out. You can point him for missing a few points. 1) glove box, 2) visor which I think is a great idea minus the way the mirror part opens, 3) not letting us know what was the software version he was on and letting the public know what is the latest version that is out. I see flaws in both your videos but the fact is this is important to talk about because I want Fisker to do well because competition benefits everyone.
@@kilxler every EV maker including Tesla has to do soft resets. They are very much like our phones that need shut down and rebooted. Each update has made the Ocean's software far more stable. He was running on an old (it's unclear how old) software. I currently have 1.11 and looking forward to 2.0. he was probably running on 1.10 or prior
@@Ocean1_FSR it's not an excuse for me. I'm sorry I don't care if Tesla, Rivian, Fisker, or whoever needs to still have an option to have to reset software is to me unacceptable. There has been software in cars for years. Hyundai, Toyota, Ford, BMW, all have software and never have to reset software to get cameras to work nor Bluetooth at this point. I come in from the IT approach and at this point there is no way that those two standards should need any resetting. Phones get updated all the time and yes software breaks certain things like Bluetooth but you are on your phone way more than you are in a car for the majority of drivers. If these were new technologies and didn't have established protocols and standards that are followed then I would understand but this is not the case.

The Ocean is the only EV currently on the market that appeals to me. However, I will reserve my final judgement on the car, for if and when it will finally have ACC and the solar panel actually working. Assuming it will happen sooner, rather than later!
Wait so in 4000 miles / 5 months of owning your car you said you've gotten in your car 2-3 times and the screen was blank / wouldn't start the screen but soft resetting it fixed it. How is that acceptable / not a bad thing? I got pissed when my 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T would sometimes reboot the screen when i'd get in every 5-6k miles but that was after like 40-50k miles and my 2019 tesla has taken like 2-3 seconds for the screen to pop up like 2-3 times over 30-40k miles (i've never had to hard reboot the tesla, I once put it in service mode to resync the camera's which took 15 seconds). But having to hardboot the car already multiple times seems like MKBHD was kinda right in his assessment.
oh man watching further and you're mentioning how he should have waited about 4-5 seconds to click the unlock button again??? idk this just seems like you're coping with a big reviewer taking a dig at the car. Also he did talk about the range he said he gets no where near the 360 miles I believe he said 310-320 (which is pretty good considering my tesla gets like 270-280 currently).
Sorry also, is the keyfob designed like that or are all the symbols already worn out? I've had 5-6 cars all for 4+ years and never seen that i'm genuinely curious if that's a design thing or is it fading (at least it looks like to me).

I understand as an owner you have your bias but guessing that his car may have needed a software reset etc is not debunking. You also have many unreasonable expectations eg expecting someone to know that they have to wait 4 seconds to see if the door unlocks etc. The fact that the manufacturer asked him not to review the car before a software update should pretty much tell you how much confidence they have in their own car.
I watched a youtube video today where the solar roof grid was projecting the squares all inside the interior on a sunny day. Is there a shade or some other solution to eliminate it?
No, no sunshade. I can say this will 100% confidence. It looks like it might be distracting on videos. It's not at all in the real world

One thing I like most on the Ocean1 are the solar panels which I didn't know exists on EV cars until I saw Marques review. The solar panels could be a life saver, I used to own 2016 and 2023 Leafs and have pushed them to almost empty in the past LOL. I find most of Marques reviews fair but I'm surprised by his headline on his Fisker's review when the issues were more on software which you would think that he would first try to either do a reset or check to see if the car needs a software update. I don't think he was purposely knocking Fiskers or that he favors Tesla over other EV brands, he has been critical of Tesla in the past. I regularly watch Marcus and now a new subscriber here.
I just noticed another a 4 month old Ocean review from Doug DeMuro with the title "...Ocean is the Quirkiest, Newest Electric SUV" I'll go check that out 🧐
Great and informative video, thank you. The biggest issue MKB brought up were about the warning lights and system failure indications that he just sort of brushed over and did not say if it ever impacted the driving performance. I am curious what were the specifics of the warnings you got before software update and if they impacted the performance of the vehicle.
Almost all warnings were brief and never affected any of the driving experience. The most common warning was the front camera was disabled or the emergency braking was disabled. Those came and went about as fast as they came up. After update 1.11 those rarely happen any more. As I state in the video, I only get warnings now when it is dark and foggy or dark and rainy and that is the front camera. That should go away after the digital radar is active.

Nice garage. How much solar regen do you get in there? Other than that, the Ocean is a nice option. Still to many open bugs for me with lack of service areas around me should something go wrong.

@Ocean1_FSR considering Fisker claims between 1500 and 2000 miles a year, you must not drive much. I would spec it out with open sky of it were an option. But if people enjoy it, hope they are happy with it. Solar portion is not worth it for me. I hope they still make the Alaska. I hope they turn it around and sales pick up.
Few things, MKBHD, Edmunds, and Carwow’s FOO all have buggy software/sensor problems and is the main issue with the car and why it’s currently considered terrible, but can be addressed with software updates. The vanity mirrors are comically small, like the size of a stick of gum and unusable. For steering wheel issue, the correct position to hold is 9 and 3. 10 and 2 is pre-airbags and you aren’t supposed to hold there as you can break your arms in an airbag deployment if your arms are above the airbag. At 9 and 3 you could inadvertently activate the touch sensitive buttons, so it is a legit complaint.
Listen I'm an shareholder and FOO owner. MKBHD isn’t all wrong and he's not all right either. Fisker has self inflicted wounds exacerbated by poor execution and communication. I'm fairly certain they'll make it through this.
What does being a shareholder have to do with my review pointing out his views compared to mine? He had his Ocean a couple days and it had old software.

My ram 1500 does the same stuff thing with the screen blanking out. At least with a Fisker you can reset it.
With my ram truck, sometimes it doesn't come back up till the next day.
Software problems are common in lots of new vehicles and vehicles built in the past 5-10 years. At least the Fisker can be reset and updated unlike my gas drinking work truck that needs about 22 gallons a day.
If your truck is using that much gas, you should consider a Lightning. It would pay for itself in a couple of years, so, free truck!
I don't have an Ocean but I've followed the company and have been curious about their progress in the EV market. I saw the other video and do agree that the title of the review and the actual review did not align. Most of the gripes were very small and were related to software where there was even an admission that they would likely be fixed in the 2.0 update. The visor, the tray,.... those were silly gripes. I did finish the video being left perplexed and not convinced that the vehicle was not "buyable".
I Think he was in a hurry to leave a review. He got a broken Ocean and he has not updated the car.
why was the ocean broken in the first place? why doesn't fisker put out timely updates to their cars that desperately need it?
Some reviewers, if they get a broken car, send it back to the manufacturer and tell them to send another later when it is more ready to be reviewed. I think MKBHD should do that in the future - rather than point out a long list of things, some of which apparently are already fixed by the time most people could see the review and purchase.
One thing stands out to me. You mentioned that the Fisker will not have adaptive cruise until 3 more software version updates. Whaaat? My 2016 Civic has ACC. Why a high priced car in 2023 would not have ACC is a mystery. Does that reflect the company’s rush to get to market or a design prioritization philosophy or both? Either way it doesn’t instil confidence (same can be said of the rollback issue).
Well, since this video was made many features have been added thru OTAs. The rollback has now been addressed with Hill Hold thru an OTA. We still don't have adaptive cruise. Why not? I think it's because the Ocean will rely on 4D radar for that and it's not active yet. I just got 2.0 update and ACC is probably coming in 3.0 update but not 100% sure currently. The car is amazing and it's my favorite by far.
everything you pointed out though was the truth. he said the mirror was small. instead of just agreeing , you make a video, and try to sass him for why men need a mirror, but your own wife said it was small.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had a deposit on an Ocean but it just seemed to drag on with only promises of a start date in Southeast Michigan. I finally spotted one in the parking lot of the Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan but I couldn’t see the license plate. I’m really concerned about service for a new brand. It’s a lot of money and a very new product. I’m retired and have a perfectly good 2019 Cadillac XT5 that’s paid for, so the idea of buying a brand new brand with an unknown service network scares me.
It's funny I'm watching this video again because I enjoy the videos on the fiscar ocean as I fully intend to have one in my driveway. The nitpick that some people do is an oddity I'm coming from or will be coming from driving a 2006 Ford F350 a 1969 Camaro a 2002 trans Am a 2000 Jaguar VP (that I frequently put into neutral purposefully just because I'm so used to stick and enjoy it very much) and my wife's 2017 Honda CRV (with all the bells and whistles that do so called "malfunction" because this is tech and that is normal operation) Just so many things that you point out in this video makes me want to tear his video apart to an extent. Also to an extent he is correct but I do feel he had an odd sense of bias I could be wrong but that also could be because he's so used to more perfected vehicles and not something that was just launched. Yes fisker should have in the wider scope of things release the car with less issues and its functionality intact but the point is the owners buying these vehicles knew all of this information or at least that's what I gather. Just keep doing these videos as the car company while they may be on their last legs who knows right now as of this date Tuesday May 2nd certainly hope they're not cuz I still fully intend to have one to enjoy point blank That's it It's just a car with four wheels to enjoy I love the styling I love the concept and I loved the untapped capabilities that I know for a 100% fact of this car has that are just bogged down by lack of software. Great video! I was appalled at the other guys click bait title but then his review was mostly lauding the car other than the software issues. He was quite picky on the small things like the mirror. If he needs to look at himself so much he can look in the larger rear view mirror. Wasting his review time on that minor detail was quite petty imo. I also noticed the fact that he had no idea there was a "glovebox" under both seats. Again showing his lack of knowledge about the car. It's quite obvious that he reviewed an early produced car that hadn't had any OTA updates. This was done on purpose and it was a Tesla paid hit piece imo. Fear brings Desperation and Tesla can see the competition coming and are losing market share daily. I cant wait to see the reviews after April 4.0 kicks in. Well done on your counter-review. I am a shareholder of Fisker and the stock has gotten absolutely hammered in the last few months. To the point where the cash flow of the company is being questioned. Have you heard about any big investors buying in to prop things up?
How are sales in the US going? The car seems great and I really don't want another Tesla so the Fisker is top of my list if I was sure the company will still be operational in 5 years.

But, u need to know that 10 & 2 is how older generation folk, like yourself, were taught ... due to the circumference of steering wheels in the 50's & 60's. Admit it! They were huge! So, the Diameter of wheels has gotten smaller. So now, kids are taught to drive with their hands at 9 & 3. As they say .. times have changed

Nobody is going to get 1,500-2,000 miles of range per year from the solar panels on the Fisker Ocean! Remember, solar panel output goes down with temperature and car roofs are hot places. The solar panels are not vented. Plus, people like to park in shady places. Probably the most anyone is going to get, and I'm talking the top 1% of owners, is a few hundred miles/year. The typical owner is going to get about 100-150 miles per year, or less than $5 worth of electricity per year (at $0.12/kWh). Just trying to keep it real.
That CZcamsr is a paid hack. His cybertruck is worse than the ocean... yet he has no bad review for that.

No, not at all. I addressed his issues one at a time as he was running on an old software that hadn't been updated. Each issue could have been solved with a soft reset, but guess what. Every issue could have been solved with ONE. I drive mine everyday. I know it well.
@@Ocean1_FSR to be honest, there are some issues with Ocean One, some of them objective and others subjective. For me personally, a huge deal is missing ventilated front seats, I would not buy it without this feature, so maybe the glove box is a big deal for MKBHD, who knows. These boxes under the seats look impractical to me compared to a regular glove box, but it's just me. As you and him both pointed out, some of the issues will be fixed with 2.0 update, that's great. Oh, and Tesla has been building cars for a long time compared to Fisker, and the window on my friend's brand new Model Y didn't want to completely close 😁 Another friend has BMW iX, so they live in a dealership, the car has tons of software errors.
So, the most important thing is that the owners of Ocean One love this car 🤘
@@vofking the single biggest issue has been the funky fob. Other things have mostly been very minor. Each update has made it more complete. It's a shame he had an older one without any recent updates.
All EVs are essentially computers on wheels. At work I have to reboot my computer at least once a week due to error messages, updates etc

His job is to review the car that he has. It's not his fault the car doesn't have a certain software update. If you want to talk about the software, talk to Fisker. Also everyone's experience is different. Someone's Ocean could be fine, one could have lots of issues like this one. A review is simply talking about your experience, and this is his. Also the lack of a traditional glovebox was not the major issue with this vehicle.
Not true. The Ocean has to be manually updated meaning it's not automatic. It must be accepted. He knowingly tested an Ocean that was several updates behind. What he was driving isn't what anyone else is driving, + his click bait title.
His review wasn't perfect, but you also are clearly fanboying the car. If I need to constantly soft reset my car for it to function then something is clearly wrong. Also there's no way to know if soft reset would fix all his issues. It sure is easy to say that everything software related gets fixed by it. Even the company is not confident in their product without update.
obviously he had a sensationalized title, he probably underestimated that he could individually make the difference between a company surviving and going out of business; pretty substantial mistake on his part. Of course you're right, his actual review was basically they just need to fix and debug all the software issues. You're also 100% right it probably just needed a soft reset, etc. to solve 90% of nitpick issues. However, that is a pretty big issue to put out a car that still needs software debugged (that's just a fact).

This is an unfortunate example of how our modern Information Age works. Guy with big following and not much experience with the car gets, at this point, over a million views. Guy living with the car for over 4000 miles, at this point has 3622 views. Negativity gets clicks and really negative headlines get a lot of clicks. That said, a lot of people who just want negative information about EV’s or the Ocean watched Marques’s video to get what they wanted. People wanting basic information will seek out this channel, so I think it still has an impact.
I believe Volvo also has a certain amount of Boosts (power launch) you can do on the EX30. Also, I think the Auto Focus guy isn't that great of a reviewer. Same with TechCrunch BS.

He may have a point about the steering wheel buttons. The “proper place” is currently defined as “9 & 3”. I have my hands there much of the time.
That is more of a suggestion than a rule. The better and recommended place is determined by the manufacturer and that is determined by the steering wheel. A 9-3 in the Ocean has no grip. There is not a place to wrap your fingers. More like a very low 10-2 is best for the Ocean
The unlock thing is ridiculous. Cars have successfully listened for their unlock radio signal for decades without any trouble. Even when they sit for a couple months unused. It is a foolish design that this one needs to be woken up and then asked a second time to unlock.
I won't argue that at all, but it is a 99.99% work around until fixed. The NFC reader works 100%.

This is a pretty fair take down video of the Marques video. I agree with you on the lack of problem with the glove box of the mirror (though my daughters would never own the car because of the visor thing so girls are different and Marques has a big female following). The fundamental problem, I think, you have is two-fold. First, the statement "hyper mode is more than you need" is shockingly wrong in a world where Tesla exists and it lives in hyper mode all day.
If Fisker is software limiting the car's performance in a world other makers are not, they will be out of business sooner than the strong vehicle should be. It's like "underclocking" a PC. No one does it. But if Fisker can't support the car running in full performance mode, that's a bad thing, right?
Otherwise, I think the new EVs out there (Tesla, Rivian, Fisker) are computers on wheels. They aren't cars with tech.
In a world of computers on wheels, the operating system matters. It's why the Windows phone never really worked. It's why Samsung got beaten by Apple and even Pixel for a little bit in mobile phones in spite of on par or superior hardware. Most traditional cars have more luxury and feel and room and even design to most modern full and true EVs. You are buying a EV either because you care about the environment, or want a computer on wheels and the tech it inspires and involves.
The Tesla OS is polished and clean. If you're competing in that world with a buggy computer you are in trouble. And if you have owned your car since November and it still doesn't tell you what the sun roof is doing, Fisker won't make it. They can't be this slow. They have to be updating constantly. That said, I hear Tesla still can't run auto wipers, so it's not like every computer OS is perfect in this new world :).
How many miles have you driven the Cybertruck, Rivian, Model Y/3, S/X? You clearly know the Ocean better than Marques. But you clearly don't know the competition as well. And that's why Marques said what he said. A bad OS in a computer limits how good your hardware is. And you confirm Fisker limits the hardware performance. And that you're waiting for a release 4 POINT releases away. You may not even own the car that long if they don't pick up the pace.
In all, though, I enjoyed your thorough contribution here. It was worth my time.

My biggest single grip with his review, which compelled me to do a rebuttal, was his Sensationalized headline that was clearly Click-Bait which with almost a million subscribers he clearly doesn't need. Also, I bet he wouldn't have reviewed an Iphone that was several updates behind, especially if Apple had asked him. If you have the time, watch my 4K mile review. I really enjoy the Ocean, and here is food for thought. I harbor no ill will toward anyone. I think it is pretty irresponsible of Marques Brownlee to call his video "the worst car he has ever driven!" Knowing that He has one of worlds biggest tech following and how big of an Effect this might have on this new startup brand, that is very fragile and how much this would affect Fiskers stock value!
I mean the car is not that bad! A new Nissan leaf or a chevy bolt are way worse and unispiring in many aspects. He also says that he like most of the things about the car, but the only things that are bad are software related which are fixable over time.
Tesla and VW also had lots of software bugs and issues in the start of their EV startup!

That CZcamsrs name is Marcus Browne and he’s a tech enthusiast from the MKBHD channel, but I won’t really say he’s loyal to Tesla even though he might own one, but at the same time his views are not really bias in that respects because he has reviewed non-Tesla EV’s and has given some good reviews, but one part of your video I’d like to address was the glove box, now I’m sure you’re aware that NOBODY would ever think to look for a glove box underneath the passenger and driver seats, it’s basically located in an unconventional part of the car but then you can’t really blame Marcus as like you stated he only had the vehicle for a day or two so he would not have known.
The only thing is Marcus definitely should’ve at least waited until the software update to have a proper review of the vehicle and not just quickly jump into it, that’s my only gripe with his review, but that was a good response to his video which cleared up all of the issues he had with the vehicle!,
Fully agree with you - he reviews non-Teslas with same objectiveness as with Teslas. But there are people here that are overly sensitive about criticism to their car - criticism that they most likely privately ventilate occasionally, and issues that frustrate them as much as it did Marcus.
Before reviewing the car, he should’ve read the manual, it’s digital, in the screen menu. He would learn about gloveboxes underneath the seats, Hollywood mode, and other things, like outdated software. Otherwise his viewers assumed he did his homework. And that’s misleading.
@@TheOnlyGreatGuy Actually come to think about it you do have a good point there, but in terms of Marcus doing his due diligence to actually read up on the car specifications with the manual, I feel like he just avoided all of that and wanted to rush into the review and get it over and done with, but he was well aware that the software update wasn’t available during the filming of his review which he even mentioned to his audience at the beginning of the video, but then what would it have costed for him to have waited until the software update and then do his full in-depth review?,
glove box....tesla have a glovebox and you can have storage boxes under the seat. obviously the glovebox is not in the normal position that it is in most cars
