  • This is Part 5 and the Conclusion of a multi-part series documenting the installation of a new Tesla Solar Roof & Powerwall at a home near San Antonio, Texas!
In this video, we will talk with Angela, the sales director for Vikta Energy about the service, support, Return on Investment, warranty coverage, & lessons learned in this installation, & the services after the sale. I will also wrap up the series with the homeowner as the final certification of the system was completed and her Tesla solar roof, Powerwalls & gateway are now fully operational!
In Part 1 of this video series, we talked with the homeowner and got her thoughts on why she selected a Tesla Solar Roof. We also saw the initial steps to get the process underway. It should be noted this is in addition to a full home restoration & expansion, so much more construction is underway at this project than what you might see at a typical installation.
In Part 2 of this video series, we talked with one of the employees of Vikta Energy, the company contracted by Tesla to do this roof installation and we see the steps necessary to remove to original roof and begin preparations to ensure the roof is ready for the Tesla Solar Roof installation. One of the most important steps once the old roof is removed is the installation of a Tesla roof underlayment membrane material, that not only protects the roof and makes it water proof, it also is self-sealing and provides the proper surface on which the Tesla Solar Panels can be installed.
In Part 3, we talk with Carson Blair, former Major League baseball catcher & now CEO of Vikta Energy about the various modular components that go into a Tesla Solar Roof, how these are installed & what you can expect as the installation proceeds to completion.
In Part 4, I discuss the Tesla Powerwall & Gateway installation on this project &, as a a bonus, I discuss how a Cybertruck purchase can integrate with existing or added Powerwall 3's & the new Tesla Gateway to add as much as 10 Powerwalls-worth of additional energy that can power your home!

This has been an excellent and informative video series from start to finish, particularly the attention to the final connections (with drop-line, transformer, circuit breaker, and possible regulatory issues). Any sort of roof replacement is a big deal and often new technologies are not quite cut-and-paste, but the benefits are clear and reveal themselves over time. Thank you, Joe, Debbie, and others for your contributions to help inform and educate.

Thanks Joe and Debby for this detailed presentation on a live Solar installation.

One reason folks may be happy to work with Vikta (rather than directly with Tesla) is that Vikta wants to have contact with and be available to their customers, where Tesla clearly does not. I laughed out loud when Angela from Vikta said at

Good job on interviewing the home owner Joe.

  • @erivaton

    Debby is great.

Large roof over hangs are beautiful and protect the doors, windows and siding from rain and moisture damage.

I am an avid consumer of your Tesla Gigafactory series. have to go through and watch this series from the beginning. One thing I'd like to point out. I have had Tesla solar panels on my roof in Texas for 10 years and they have always been insured via homeowners insurance without a problem. For the first time, this past February, I could not find a homeowners insurance company that would insure the solar panels. This is a HUGE negative for any homeowner. A hail storm or tornado that causes any more than slight damage will put me at serious financial risk. If this becomes an industry trend, potential solar system owners need to be aware of it.

  • @sagecoach

    Great information, much appreciated.

  • @jamesdubben3687

Thank you very much Debbie for your inspiring words.

  • @irfanwaseh

Love the video. I am also the happy Tesla. Roof user from last 2 years nothing to complain about it

  • @bimmergeezer

Debby is a wonderful interview and sharer. I hope you return after construction is finished and landscaping is also done and Debby has had time to experience the benefits of the solar roof. I would love to hear her thoughts,

  • @GntlTch

Debbie is surprisingly knowledgeable about power companies and regulations. Most homeowners would be clueless. (And I specifically said and meant "homeowners", not "women"!)

  • @josepecanocano1587

Thanks you Joe, fantastic video , from Spain

  • @mariusmeyer14

In our country many gated housing home owners associations do not allow visible PV systems. This will do just great (if it complements surrounding architecture.)

  • @georgedoolittle7574

    Nice Anderson Windows.

You are doing great Joe. You have the Huell Howser vibe.
