UPDATE MAY 31: Chloe will be wearing the "weansie" (weaning onesie) on and off to help her milk dry up faster. Her body needs to recover from chronic pregnancy, and we would like to begin stabilizing her kidneys and getting her healthy enough for her dental surgery as soon as possible, but we can't do that until she stops nursing kittens.
UPDATE MAY 11: Aura got a checkup today. Amazingly, after 140 tube feedings her lungs are still clear and Dr. F was blown away by how good she looks. We still have a long road ahead, but she doesn't seem to mind the tube feedings and is happy and extremely adorable otherwise. Chloe, Ramona and the other kittens all look great as well.
UPDATE MAY 2: Aura went to the vet today for a checkup because of her stuffy nose that has been forcing her to breathe through her mouth, and her lower lip is developing a sore. The good news is that her temp is normal, her lungs are clear (yay), her respiration rate is good and she remains a feisty little fighter. Prognosis remains guarded, but every day gets us a little closer.
UPDATE MAY 1: Chloe is being treated for mastitis, which is quite uncomfortable. It is helpful for kittens to nurse on her. Aura's nose is stuffy, so she has been breathing through her mouth from time to time. It may look alarming, but it is the same as when we get a cold and can't breathe through our noses.

UPDATE APRIL 22: Chloe gave birth to five beautiful kittens this morning. Four are doing well so far, but Aura has a significant cleft palate with two large holes. We have a specialist advising us, and while the prognosis is guarded, we will continue to tube feed every 2-4 hours around the clock and do everything we can to get her big enough for surgery in 16-24 weeks.
Chloe Ramona are ferals raising their last litters of kittens in safety and comfort. They will be spayed and we will see if they are receptive to socialization. They come from a colony of more than 230 feral cats, where 90% have been spayed/neutered thanks to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts. Our volunteers provide daily care and feeding to the cats who remain at the colony, regardless of rain, snow or face-spider season. Meet their colony friends and family: TinyKittens.com/happyforest
UPDATE APRIL 3, 2018: A third pregnant feral named Rula has joined our feral caternity ward. She is also from the Happy Forest.
UPDATE APRIL 2, 2018: Gwen "accidentally" trapped a pregnant feral cat, so we are going to see how she does sharing a room with Chloe. Chloe (ginger + white) and Ramona (pure black) are from the same colony, so it is likely they know each other.

I saw "two flashing lights" in the carrier, and took a moment to realize,, "Oh1 That's Ramona!"
+Velvet Cyberpunk - Perfect names for black cats (my favorite "flavor" BTW with tuxies running a close second). I know a family that got a black kitten on Halloween years ago, who got named "Pumpkin" by the kids. He grew into a HUGE cat with a purr like a heavy engine.
My significant other found them and their brother at only about two weeks old. We raised them by hand, and we kept two and the third went to my step-daughter. Black cats are my favorite too. When I was living in California there was a neighborhood cat who was a tuxedo. He was so sweet and smart, but he was also a nomad and didn't like staying inside much. I called him Charlie Boots.

I just have to say that Chloe looks so beautiful here. When we first saw her come in from the colony she was already pregnant and while we watched her get a bit more healthy her body was still under the demands of pregnancy and then nursing. Now that the kittens are weaned and she's recovered from her spay, there's a look about her now that I've never seen before. her coat is sleek, her eyes just glow. She's so ready to start her new life as a lap cat and companion to someone. I'l love to see her and Ramona go to a forever home together.....

OMG...that Torti at 9:20...beating the snot out of his/her sibs. YOWZA! Talk about letting everyone know who's boss ! Kittens are endlessly fascinating, watching them socialize and interact. One minute they are acting like serial killers, the next they are all kisses, cuddles and baffs.

Shelly has repeatedly stated that she can not take on another cat, in regards to Aura. However . . . We talk about adopting 'bonded pairs', I'm pretty sure that Aura is rather bonded to Shelly, like big time. So, whomever adopts Aura is probably going to have to adopt Shelly, too! LOL :p :p :) :D
I think several thousand people feel bonded with Aura already. The hard part will be making the choice among them. :-)

He's a beautiful big boy! I wondered if that was him. I wondered if anyone heard a medical update. I think he has slow kidneys, but I bet he goes a long time with them! Thank you. :)
Mason is on his special diet, he is fed his medications, which he doesn't like. Shelly has to feed him from a syringe to make sure that he's getting all the calories he needs. He's been there for a while now, much longer than I think Shelly expected him to survive. Insofar as we know, he's in a relatively steady state, he gains a little weight, loses a little, but always seems right about 8 pounds or so. He still doesn't like to be petted, unless Shelly can do stealth pets while he's with the kittens.
For his diseases, and everything he's been through, I'd say he was doing really well.

OMG!! This my 1st visit to this page. I'm completely in furball heaven!!! The eyes in the carrier remind me of my sweet Ebone that I lost in '95. 😢 I think I've found a calling for my senior years!!

I knew one of those kittens was going to investigate that carrier. Then I was surprised to see a grown cat in there, golden eyes. A large cast of characters. A big cat on the little couch, one in the carrier, and then one in the right corner of the screen, that first came out of the carrier. I don't know who is who. But enjoyable that the kittens are all different colors. Suddenly, one gets another in a headlock! Wrestling ensues! What a beautiful room they have! And such a lovely view, too! Thank you for sharing this. They're livin' the life! ❤

I had to go out for the day and missed this live. Beautiful watching Chloe joyfully bathing her kittens. Once Ramona settles in, she will enjoy the big windows. 💚💗💛
This is a very beautiful thing to watch. The babies are content with Grandpa Mason. Once Mama's are introduced, and they seem timid, the babies do not instantly rush in. There is a slow, creeping, movement as these sweet little kittens make their way, slowly, towards their Mama's. The whole time Grandpa just calmly waits, watched, and only once the Ginger Mama seems comfortable does he introduce himself. He has such a calming influence it seems. The Black Mama seems very timid, but her babies slowly move in, and that one baby slowly goes in, goes out, goes in... Almost like it is showing Mama that it is safe to leave. What a sweet, little baby. So patient. And then the babies start moving a little faster, rough house, explore. And then to see Ginger Mama move towards the camera, she seems to be more comfortable, cleans her babies.
It is such a beautiful thing to watch. They rely on body language, moment...and the babies seem to bring the Mama's out of their shell. And Grandpa gets to sit back and relax. He has really calmed the babies, so the babies in turn can calm the Mama's. What a wonderful place for these beautiful creatures to be. This is a very pleasant setting.

I LOVE these sweet kittens and I LOVE THE GRANDPA.I DID NOT KNOW IF I COULD WATCH THIS.WE HAD A FEREAL CAT AT MOBILE HOME.WE FED HIM FOR OVER TWO YEARS.I WAS ALWAYS CONCERNED IF SOMETHING WOULD HAPPEN TO KOBY WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE HIM TO THE VET.WE HAD NEVER TOUCHED HIM CUZ HE TOO SCARED.POOR BOY.BUT GOD WAS WITH US AND WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE HIM.HE HAD BEEN HIT BY A CAR.WE PUT HIM TO SLEEP.WE WERE ABLE TO PET HIM.HE EVEN LIFTED SELF TO LET US TOUCH HIM MORE. I HAD LEARNED ALOT ABOUT FERAL CATS.IT IS A VERY SAD LIFE FOR THEM.WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM.WE SAID WE HAVE YOUR BACK KOBY. I JUST WISH WE COULD OF HAD HIM LIVE EITH US.BUT HE WOULD COME INTO THE HOUSE,BUT HE WOULD GET SCARED WHEN I WOULD WALK TO HIM.HE WOULD LATE AT NIGHT AND MEOW.I LET HIM IN AND HE WOULD SLEEP IN THE ROOM OR FRONT ROOM.AND IN THE MORNING BECORE MY HUSBAND GOT UP I WOULD GIVE SOME GOOD AND THEN HE WOULD GO. It's lovely that they all get along. I have several strays that I've been feeding for 3 years. There's a core pack of 6 cats that seem to be some sort of family. They exist amicably with just a hiss here and there, and will all cuddle together. Many have mellowed toward me and will come inside to be brushed and petted.
At feeding time they'll join me in the kitchen meowing like all cats do when they hear the cans being opened. Such a fun sound. I don't know how long they've been together or how they came to be strays. One is a Siamese who is practically like a house cat. I can't help thinking he was a house cat at one time and who knows why he was abandoned to make his own way.
Then there are a few outliers who will only come onto the patio edge where I put the food. Not all of the core pack gets along with them and there are some scuffles now and then.
I'm hoping I can trap some of the original 6 and get their teeth cleaned. That's going to be a wild time. My vet says that since they're semi feral I can bring them in whenever I can catch them without an appointment.

I don't know why but I haven't received any notifications of your videos for months and this Morning I decided to do a search for your CZcams channel and start watching a few videos again. It was great to see Grandpa Mason again and to watch Aura attacking and fighting with any kitten that came within reach of her. She is feisty little kitten as you said.
I haven't seen any updates about her and quite some time so I'm going to see what I can find out in your videos.
