  • POP SUCKS! and here is prove of that. I understand many of this people are rapers or whatever you want to call them, seams like they are just pretending to be singers.
On the first part I got a lot of comments saying how stupid my video was but I think some people are more stupid for listening this sort of music, everything they talk about is "wet p*ssy" trying to brain wash you so they make more money.
Lets give a chance to real artists in the music industry. Whatever those artist are and whatever type of music they play.

I think it's just a way to build one's self-esteem. People often feel the need to prove that their taste in whatever is superior and then pat each other on the back within the community. Objectively, yeah, metal does seem to have higher standards when it comes singing, pop and metal music industries are very different, and the former is focused on many things apart from the music itself, which might be partly responsible for that difference in quality. However, saying that "pop sucks" is simply an opinion, taste in music is actually an aquired thing, our brain simply likes the sounds it knows and recognizes, so going "oh, the sounds MY brain likes are better than the ones YOURS does" is um...kind of stupid.

Not to mention that on the listener's side metal being sometimes really intricate and complex requires more than 1 listen to fully appreciate a song, sometimes a song even requires multiple listens to really shine. Its work put into it from both sides, musicians and listeners. In contrast most - not all - pop music is made for easy listening and fast consumption, its tasty like a burger sometimes, but it doesn't compare with grandma's real nutritious home-cooking. Up to that point for me metal was mainly male singers, who were singing well in studio, but very rarely kept the level on live performances. Then started discovering more and more female singers like Anneke, Cristina Scabbia, Simone - women who sound live better than the studio version. And now that we have powerhouses like Tatiana (Jinjer), Brittney (Unleash The Archers) and of course Floor (no need to specify) it's simply a fact that metal has a lot more talent in it than any other genre out there. BUT one pop singer i can get behind, cause she really has the voice and would've done extremely good in the metal if only she started singing outside the US - Fergie. She has the power and the drive in her voice that pop singers usually lack. It's a shame really she sold out to the American market.

I saw Alissa in the thumbnail so i clicked 👍
And I really love operatic-like voices plus metal sounds ❤

Symphonic and Power Metal are very underrated!

Nothing more beautiful than metal singers 😍

Also for extra points: some of these singers have to disguise their accents when they sing because they’re European.

We can win this comparison with just Dutch symphonic metal singers + Marco Hietala. No contest.

There are just too damned many powerful voices in metal music these days but,..my picks are No.1. Tarja Turunen. No.2. Tatiana Shmailyuk. No.3. Floor Jansen. No.4. Alissa White-Gluz. No.5. Brittney Slayes.

Just when I thought that I know all about NW and all their musicians, I hear something of Marco I haven't heard before! Could you please share the song? I would be most grateful!!!

Of course that song is part of his solo album project called "Pyre of the black heart" and I believe the song is called "death march for freedom"

I generally dislike viewing music as a competition, comparing this and that to they and them, but the fact is metalsingers are some of the best in the world. I LOVE Anette Olzens voice, and then I heard she did a collab with Russel Allen and that made my day.

I love Metal with all my heart
But when people make videos like this to disgrace other genres, its soo stupid and cringe

I love Nils Molin in his two Bands Dynazty and Amaranthe. Marco Hitala is a Legend on his Gitar and with his voice in all of his Projects. I'm one of this Persons who never thought Justin Bieber has a special Voice or good singing Training, just too much Autotune like so many other Pop "Singers". Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon with Nightwish are Eras I will miss forever. Anette Olzon and Lauri Ylönen, also Vile Valo, Laura Ylonen and Apocalyptica wanna be one of my favourite Duetts forever. Elize Ryd and Jak E. Lundberg, Andy Solveström not so much in the days of Amaranthe's beginning and Elize Ryd, Nils Molin and Henrik Englund are soo good Combinations of really good Singers.

As long as I know, all metal musicians can do anything. Singers, guitar players, bass players, drummers (specially), etc, etc...They're all so awesome, dude...
I really love when a metal band sometimes add some unique instruments in a song, surely will be great to hear that song...
