I'm a HUGE fan of the dump and go Instant Pot recipes! This Dump and Go Pot Roast is one of my FAVORITES! It only takes a few ingredients and everyone will love it!
Your carrots will be VERY well done. The thicker your carrots, the better they will taste. My family likes them well done, but cut your carrots how you like them!
I used a 2 pound roast, but you could use a 3 or 4 pound roast. Same recipe, just add 10 minutes to your cooking time.
Check out my 9 Instant Pot DON'TS if you are a beginner to Instant Pot cooking! • 9 Instant Pot DON'TS! ...
See our other Instant Pot Recipes: • 3 EASY Instant Pot Rec...
Just remember when using the Instant Pot, it takes 10-20 minutes to pressurize!
Be sure to give me a thumbs up and comment if you would like more Instant pot recipes or tips and tricks with the Instant Pot!
This is the Instant Pot I have (yes it is the cheaper one and I love it!): amzn.to/2F3Lznx
If you are cooking for 1-2 people I would suggest the 3 Quart. If you are cooking for more, I would suggest the 6 quart!

I bought an Instant Pot over a year ago, but only used it one time. I had several surgeries, and I was actually physically unable to work in my kitchen for many months. Now, I am anxious to start using the Pot to experiment with a lot of new recipes. I like this one, because there are fewer steps to complete, such as browning the roast prior to cooking, Thank you!

2 weeks ago I subscribed because after watching you i got the courage to use my IP after staring at it for 3 months . You guys gave me the courage to do it by making it so darn easy. .Let me tell you that my pot roast was the best tasting I've ever had! I then subscribed to the recipe page and was pleasantly surprised by the vast number of recipes. The ribs I made were fall l off the bone tender AND my husband loves beans so NO MORE overnight soaking. No pot to watch. OMG Six Sisters Stuff you ladies are my go to for everything IP. Thank you.

Made this last night and it was the best ever (that I’ve ever made)!! One of the things (the only thing) I don’t like about a roast is how tough the meat is. (I don’t love beef.) The meat was actually nice and tender. I didn’t have the onion soup mix so I used a combination of garlic and onion powder, pink salt, pepper, and minced onions. Thanks for a great recipe!

ok - funny story here. When I got married, well actually engaged 24 years ago, one of the first 'meals' my MIL made was 'pot roast'. I grew up with pot roast being done in a slow cooker - low and slow, juicy and delicious. This was .... awful. I was appalled!. But I was the new kid on the block so I was Switzerland. After I was married, the very first 'home cooked' meal I made my new hubby was Pot Roast. The way I was taught to make it. Hubby walks in the door, asks what's for dinner - I say Pot Roast and he gets this look and says - oh ok. So when we sit down to eat I have candle light, roasted potatoes, glazed carrots, dinner rolls and my gorgeous pot roast. Hubby gets up, goes to the fridge and gets KETCHUP. See, with his mom's pot roast they would drown it with ketchup so that, well, it could be swallowed (told you it was awful). I glared at him and said..."With my Pot Roast you don't need ketchup and if you put it on there without tasting it first you better just get used to the couch". So he tried it w/o Ketchup. We had none left - he devoured it. Then he told his MOM the next day - Deena made pot roast - it was delicious. You should get her recipe!!" OMG.

Hmm, you gotta question if the post roast you made was really good or not. I mean come on you gave the guy an ultimatum and the ultimatum was honey put that ketchup away you’re gonna like my pot roast OR your gonna be banished to the couch. Lol!!! The new husband was terrified! Of course he “liked” your pot roast and to top it off he no doubt got extra points and a guaranteed good nights sleep in his own bed by telling his mother about your “delightful” pot roast. Poor guy. 😂😂😂

My late mother used to make it with a packet of Lipton onion soup and a can of brown gravy poured over it. She’d wrap it in two sheets of tinfoil and bake it in the oven. It made the house smell so good!!! Once a neighbor kid came to our house for something, when I opened the door she asked what smelled so good. I started making it in the crockpot, but with stew meat, so that there isn’t wasted meat. Now I have an instant pot and I LOVE cooking in it. I’ll have to try Pot Roast in it.

About a year and a half ago, I saw this video and immediately liked it because I love pot roast. That weekend I made it, it tastes wonderful btw, but I also bought a bunch of Lipton onion soup mix because of this recipe.
About six months later I was going through my pantry and saw all the soup mix I bought and couldn’t remember why I got so much! I asked my kids, my siblings and even posted on fb to see I anyone knew why I got so much soup mix.
Well, I just watched this video and remembered!!
This is a great recipe and I will be making it again, right after my chuck roast thaws out!

This is tonight’s Sunday dinner. We’ve made this many times and after a long time in between I found a 3 lb. grass fed roast in the bottom of my freezer. (Score!). The only variation is we start with sauté and brown all sides of the roast, then we remove the roast and lightly caramelize the onions before returning the roast for the main event! Tastes and smells like Grandma’s house. ❤️

I just love your recipe here and I have had it saved for a while! For me I cut the broth down to just 1 cup. We don't like watery roast. But, the first time I followed your recipe I added veggies and had the rest as beef vegetable soup! I just love your channel!

Awesome recipe...2nd try for pot roast my first in the instant pot was pretty bad (not your recipe and different cut of meat)! It was moist and so yummy! Love your videos!

    Christin,
I love dump and go recipes, especially when I add the extra convenience of the timer function, so the food is ready exactly when we are.
    Thanks
