Never going to mock a man for trying his best and admitting he is learning as he goes. I respect that, because deep down, many of us are in your same shoes, we think we know more than we actually do. Until you actually put "hands" on and do the work, its alot harder than reading or watching someone else do the work. I do not understand though why cut the bumper as high as you did since there is a metal bar spanning the length of the opening anyway? Why not cut to the bottom of that bar instead? Or did I miss something? All and all, your having fun and enjoying the car. At least you actually drive yours and not just look at it in a garage. Change your AC condenser it is trashed and is blocking airflow to the rad and intercooler that is probably the main cause of your overheat issues at the ring , having said that all the other mods are great 👍 keep it up . I would definitely run a mesh grill over the big new hole at the front 😅 one more thing is you may need a couple of vertical support rods behind the mesh to stop it getting pushed backwards
Hello mate on the issue of cooling there’s one thing that you can do, which will make a hell of a difference and will not cost you any money at all and that is simply if you look at your AC cooler that is at the front and oil, cooler and so on These are radiators and coolers, or heat, exchanges, which have radiators behind them such as your intercooler and your radiator for your car, now with all of these sitting in front of each other, their lies a problem, and that is dirt when dirt gets in all of these, when they’re stacked up on top of each other , the efficiency of them is vastly affected so what can you do about it , is very simple, simply wash the dirt out. I’ve using a garden hose with a spray nozzle on it or a pressure washer at low pressure and you will be very surprised on your amount of shit that’s gonna come out just by doing that you will increase the efficiency tenfold.
Not to mention how destroyed the ac condenser fins looks, that is definitely robbing him of airflow to the radiator and intercooler behind it. swapping to a brand new unit will definitely increase airflow and drop temps.
Mate, I think what and more importantly how your doing things is awesome. Don’t worry about the haters. Heaps of us look for ways to save money. Showing us how is awesome.

You can buy sheet mesh.....it would be a good idea to use sheet mesh.
Friend has a few m3 race cars. Very similar idea to your golf. All run wooden front splitters
Ya could have forked out and had a proper grill made would have looked a lot better needs an airtec intercooler on it now something with writting on it so it doesnt look so bare

If the radiator and stuff was black to would look a lot better to blend in, the sliver behind the mesh stands out spray that black too?

If you don’t have air con get road of the AC condenser. These are the biggest issue with flow. They get beaten up and the bent fins restrict flow.
I fully rate this, looks very aggressive. Doesn’t have to look pretty, just needs to work!

Good modification 👍 . I hope you retain some strength in the bumper probably going to distort at speed.
And personally thicker mesh would be better and why not black out behind the grill with black paint would look better.

You should have cleaned radiators etc then sprayed everything black behind the mesh that will look better very aggressive looking front end but is it less aerodynamic?

Its actually OBD 2 with II representing 2 there is no such thing as obd 11 obd 3 is not out its in line with tesla being AUTONOMOUS OBD4 is where they can physically shut down your car while you're driving so please go forward to make the correction OBD2 not 11 Cheers kid

Needs a rear mounted engine rad like the rally cross cars! Makes plenty of room for a massive intercooler! 😉😂
