Usually NO cover is ever better than the original song by the original artist. It's pointless to make the comparison. This is absolutely beautiful and David turns every song he sings into something special. He is an amazing artist.
I personally prefer David's version - I think it's his best vocal performance ever, right up there with My Little Prayer, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Postcards in the Sky, and Okay, Alright!!!!! (: (: (:
I've seen many comments from people missing David or just discovering him. I just hope all these folks will spend 10 bucks and support his next album. His voice, his person are so worth it.

He prepared albums for us and more...he loves us all ,but he put God first and hopes you stay by him while he is gone and when he comes back from serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pure love is what he is giving.
The problem with our world today is there so so much fear and so much hate and God told us to love one another. Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself. We need to bring God back to the forefront in our country. Our country was founded by Christian beliefs and we have turned our backs on God. We have been the most blessed nation in the world and we have thrown that all out the door. We are paying a big price because we have not listen to Jesus and we are suffering because of it. But there is a way… God made away for us to have eternal life through his son Jesus. Let’s bring God back into our country before it is too late.
Only David could truly do this song justice. His voice is like a chorus of angels....simply brilliant talent!
The scene where The lady takes off her bag slowly and then it zooms out to her son running into her arms.. made me cry so much
He's on a church mission in Chile until March/April 2014. David said he definitely plans to return to music so we're crossing our fingers that he will tour by the end of next year!

April 2021. This beautiful song by REM meant a lot to me when it came out. First time I’ve heard David’s version. BLOWN AWAY. And the day before he left for his Mission? wow...I cried at the end when that little boy ran into her arms. I know how that feels. I grew up with my dad in the military, so I know what it's like to see that person for the first time in 6 months, or even longer. it's hard...you never know what the military and their families give up until you go through it.
I've been impressed by the care and the obvious humility of this young man since he was on Idol when he was 16. He never ceases to amaze me. May God bless him and keep him from harm. Psalm73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

I love David singing this song. One more year until David returns from his church mission. If anyone's on twitter, David's id is DavidArchie there - I hope you follow him while we wait. He can't tweet or use phone/web on his mission so his manager Kari tweets while David's away on his mission. Occasionally she posts a message from David.

Recently got the horrible news of my pops having stage four lung cancer. Spreading throughout his body. He's doing chemo once a week. I smile and joke around him. I don't sob over his shoulder. But when I get home I can't help but lose it. I just can't imagine this life without my pops. This rendition is beautifully done and helps me through these dark times.
