- This is a very long very nerdy review. SORRY lol. But I hope you enjoy it. Very cool device but its not for most people considering it's Price. But it was a pleasant surprise and I really enjoyed it. But for the price i would buy a #steamdeck or #switcholed #aynodin
Check out the Logitech G Cloud here.

Not noticing anyone on here letting you know that almost all of your issues have been addressed as of this point. There's now proper key mapping, the Fat32 limitation has always been a non issue simply add an SD card and set it as system storage, done. Lots of options for front ends now as well for emulation (it's been made a lot easier). Video out is also now possible. Finally, there's an app that is better than the standard Xbox streaming app that allows the games to be played at 1080p instead of the standard 720p. Nice. All told I love this for streaming and emulation capabilities, it's still overpriced, but there are tons available on ebay's bigger sellers that sell open box versions now for around $200, well worth it at that price, period.
I picked up the G Cloud over the weekend from my local Best Buy for $299, and I already love the device. The screen is big and amazing, while being lighter than the Switch Pro. It runs Emulator, and I LOVE streaming via Steam. It's shockingly good. I've been using it to go through Final Fantasy VII Remake on Steam, and like, save for some home router nonsense, the experince has been stellar.
I really am glad I didn't listen to reviews, because all of them told me not to get this, but.. IDK.. I guess I am the audience for this.
for 299 and if you need a tablet, best deal out there. Glad you love it.
@@notquitenerdy No not beat deal batter off buying a AYN odin base for $279 which outperform the g cloud has screen mappings.
I have both the g cloud and steam deck and find myself using the g cloud 8 out of 10 times. The battery life is amazing and streaming PS5 is much better than anything else I have tried. It’s so good that I think it’s funny that this is marketed with Xbox but is best at streaming PS5 thanks to PS play app. Def worth $300 to me. Also PS Play actually works well outside of your home and tethering to my phone in another state felt similar to being at home on Wi-Fi. Pretty awesome stuff.
But shouldn’t the steam deck be more enjoyable because it has basically everything console game?
@@Mope333720p SD vs 1080 is pretty noticeable.
Why not just stream to your steam deck?
I also had both returned my g cloud, I had no complains that thing is great in Wi-Fi but with the new steam deck oled. The SD wins everytime, g cloud only good for streaming & remote play but if you have no Wi-Fi or bad hotspot, the g cloud is worthless. You can’t do anything with it, my SD oled rocks!!!!!
Great honest review..thanks

Rhino you for watching and commenting!! Appreciate you.
Can’t underestimate this device its more than just a streaming device. You can emulate a good amount of ps2 and gamecube games on this. Its advertised as a streaming device but its more than that.
Agree. I’m calling it my favorite Android a tablet. Lol. If you call it that it’s the best one. Price even makes sense too.
You can use an SD card as internal storage and download any size roms. All android devices have issues with apps in portrait mode there are easy ways to force rotation lock. There's a update to this device that adds screen mapping and joystick sensitivity control.
Thanks for commenting this. I’m glad they made updates to all that.
I just purchased the G Cloud for streaming from either an online service (I have GeForce now and sad to see Stadia go because it works great on this) and to stream from my PS5 and PC to play in bed. For its use case as a streaming device it’s amazing. I kishi (I have) and backbone and small screen on phones make the playing very undesirable. I have a switch OLED and I like it too. But the quality of a game streamed from a ps5 is way better than switch can do. Anyway, I think I’ll keep this as the ultimate remote play and streaming device on the market.
Thanks man for using and suggesting my app PSPlay. Glad it works so well on the G Cloud. Nice video, thumbs up 👍 Florian
Hell yeah! It’s awesome. Are you the same Florian that made the Linux Chiaki app for the steam deck to remote play? I’m making a video about that now. Love your app. Worked great. Appreciate you.
@@notquitenerdy Thanks 😁
No, this is a different Florian, but I've been working with him in the background to figure out how the general remote play protocol works. I contributed some small things to Chiaki as well but mainly in regards of new information and improvements. We found each other by coincidence on web (turned out that our names are both Florian ^^). Chiaki is definitely an awesome open source project.
I agree. Thanks to both of you for making the app that Sony won’t. Lol. Appreciate everything you do.
Thank you for saving Xbox remote play as well, I’ve downloaded both of your apps
I have the console and I use it to play through Geforce Now, and it's honestly impressive. When traveling, trains with 5g Wifi are perfect for this terminal. I am happy with the purchase and for my part if they find it for €250 they will understand it.
That’s the thing. It’s incredible at the right sale price. Totally agree.
The psplay mention is money! Thank you!
I got you! Haha. Thanks for watching.
Tablet mode makes this even better. Also you can unlock the device in tablet mode with the controller.
Tablet mode is what makes this even worth buying. If you couldn’t switch into it it would be a pretty week device.
I got the G cloud instead of a steam deck. But I don’t know if I’m satisfied yet, if I had gotten an steam deck in the first place I would spend way more money than the G cloud. The base steam deck cost $399 and I would have to start building my game library since I had never had one. On the other hand I can play PS5 games on the G cloud but I still notice some latency on some games. Like for example, I was playing Kena the other day and I was missing the jumps, it took me twice as much to pass a level. I don’t know I just wish PlayStation would just release a proper handheld device.
The steam store has sales with epic low prices and you can find all kinds of games that you missed out on from the last few years. An SD card is cheap for more storage. The steam deck is the better devoce in every way but yes more expensive. It streams all the ways the GCloud does. The issues with latency are more to do with your internet setup at home if you are missing jumps and it’s that bad. Look into videos to give that device the top priority or even how to upgrade your router.
You definitely want tablet mode for multiple reasons. I have no issues with xcloud. I also have non-issue with ps5 remote from anywhere on earth with at least adequate cell signal. Also the gcloud cannot really play any games natively that would be larger than 4gb. With very few exceptions. I really logitech would have found a way to sell at major loss. This console would sell like hotcakes at 199... the new Sony remote device would have had to change their approach in one way or another. Dang it logitech!
By far my number one gaming device. And i have them all. This is the one. Definitely worth the $299. Actually makes android games feel like actual real games. Definitely amazing for remote play.
I’m glad you like it but it’s not normally $299 and if you have them all I’m amazed you think this is the one. Steam deck blows this thing away on almost every account accept resolution and weight for me.
@@notquitenerdy steam deck is better for local gaming. But if you fit the use case and you stream games remotely, steam deck is inferior. I like my deck. But its not a requirement to play off the hardware in my hands. I actually prefer the ergonomics on the g cloud as well.
Think it might be perfect for me. I have game pass but don't enjoy playing it on my phone much. I love certain android games like pubg but also not as fun on my phone. Even using those controllers your phone goes in. All my efforts have basically been trying to recreate this.
Expensive af for sure. But it's 50 bucks off and I just got an Amazon gift card so looks like I might be ordering it
Now that’s exactly how I would recommend buying it. Lol. Perfect. If it was $250 I would say it’s the dopest thing ever. But it’s never that cheap. You’ll love it. Just remember to switch back to Tablet mode when you want to do anything normal that’s not playing a game. Haha
All his complaints about cloud streaming were not there with stadia. So sad google didn’t make a better effort with that platform because the tech was impressive. I hate gamers reviewing cloud because they have clear bias. They obviously do not want cloud to be the future even though it is.
Geforce now was better anyway
I love cloud gaming and have tried it in every form since inception. Just not as good as playing local.

You buy this for streaming games, and if you're good with that it's awesome. I got it for gamepass and got it on sale for 300. Better than gaming on an ipad
It’s really awesome as a dedicated PS remote play and game pass machine. It the price is too high for me. But I did have a great experience
I had an odd experience where I ordered the G Cloud, cancelled it, bought a Steam Deck, and was then sent the G Cloud by accident anyways. I’m glad I got the Deck because streaming on G Cloud was a lot blurrier for some reason. The Deck streams Xbox Cloud Gaming through a desktop web browser, so I’m wondering if the G Cloud is using an upscaled mobile app that streams at lower resolution.
Maybe. But it could also be that it’s streaming in 720p on both and then looks sharper on the steam deck. But I also thought the Xcloud was blurry in all ways. Who knows. Steam deck is the better bet. Appreciate you chiming in. Thanks for watching!!
I didn't have this experience at all
@@claytonyoung1351 That’s interesting. The only thing I’ve learnt about game streaming is that different people/places can have very different experiences. It was just surprising for me since I’m in the same place and on the same connection comparing them side by side.
@@claytonyoung1351 I do love playing GeForce Now on the G Cloud though because I can turn it up to 1080p and it’s stunning
@@travisr9839 very odd. But as an avid cloud gamer i can say i have tested xcloud, stadia, ge force, etc. On many devices. For me it was definitely crisp and clear. But as you said, different for everyone.
So some the negatives have been fixed now with updates
- no key mapping
- no hdmi out
I’m so torn between keeping the g cloud or getting the steam deck, if the steam deck feels better in the hands and the ps remote play works just as good then I might have to get one
That’s my opinion. Steam deck is heavier and bigger. Keep that in mind. But it does everything the GCloud does but also can run games and be used as a computer. PS remote play works just as good. I made a video about it with GOW ragnorok. Check that out. I just think the steam deck is unmatched in so many ways
@@notquitenerdy I ended up with the steam deck and had it for about a month, I do miss the g cloud a little bit for the 1080p screen but I don’t think enough to go out and get one. However, the abxylute and the rumored ps handheld are something I’m still considering
Nice yeah the screen in games doesn’t seem to Mayer to me at that size. When I watched CZcams and Netflix it made a huge difference but I don’t do that often on the steam deck in real life so I don’t miss the better screen at all. If Sony brings out a new handheld be sure I’m buying that. Lol. That’s gonna be awesome.
Can i play Enshrouded from steam on this without actually owning a pc? I have a steam account
Debating getting this for my shadow pc
It might be a match made in heaven.
I miss plug n play, and I think I always will, but those days are long gone. I'd pay the extra $50 for a Steam Deck, even though I might not put much on there other than Stardew Valley for a while. I tend to play on console instead of my PC, but I can see the Steam Deck changing that.
Love this. It’s just incredible how much the steam deck CAN do for the money. Better to have the option than not. Thanks for watching. Appreciate you and the comments.
I had none of the issues with X Cloud that you had. Feels native for me. I have 50mb and 15 mb up. Stable but not fast. Your internet sounds like it has poor stability.
I have a fully built out Wi-Fi G beast mode setup and Xfinity that is mostly very consistent. 600down and 25up. I have zero issues with Nvidia and the overall mushiness is pretty normal.
@@notquitenerdy may be the distance to the data centers then. Not sure. Again, i have great experience in my personal play sessions. Actually dont use my local xbox any more.
Which Batman game is featured at 11:11?
Gotham knights.
Ah-super helpful! I thought it was a Gamecube title...@@notquitenerdy
I would have prefered if logitech design this to be a pure console than a streaming and android device. Dont get me wrong it does look good and see its potential but i may try it but i like to wait till they lower the price and make improvements to it.
I wouldn’t buy this for more than $249. It’s just not worth it with that mod tier processor. If you’re not looking for an android tablet and also a way to game handheld I just don’t get it.
@@notquitenerdy Hopefully nintendo releases something next year, its about time for new nintendo console. Hopefully they make major improvements on the switch if their making a witch 2.0
Steam deck is great, but it has it limitations as well. Try taking a 5 hour flight with one........ I think they are on to something here for people in my use case scenario. I am 51 and occasionally game. I have the Nintendo Switch as I am partial to the Mario and Zelda series since they were the kings when I was the average age of gamers now. Nintendo ported the Sniper Elite series over and I love it! However, SE5 isn't available yet. So to be able to play it, I'd have to get either an Xbox or Playstation console or invest in a gaming computer. Not a smart option to play one game. The G Cloud will be cheaper soon enough to accomodate that need. Plus you do have the bonus that it is a mini tablet.... Streaming will be the future as the goal of the green community is to reduce waste. Powerful consoles will not be needed to produce a quality gaming experience.
i love my g cloud it replaced every emulation handheld i own
Nice!!
@@notquitenerdy i own all the anbernic handhelds and all the retroid pockets and mulltiple android tablets and i still choose the g cloud
But what about that d-pad? Is it as bad as everyone says it is? Thanks
Yeah the streaming experience has never been as bad as you are saying for me
It all depends on perception. If you’ve been a wired PC gamer with a 1ms monitor and everything for decades then streaming is a terrible experience. Latency is monstrous in comparison. For the average person I’m sure streaming seems great.
@@notquitenerdy That's like saying once you play at 60FPS, 30 will seem horrible. I have played at both and it isn't. This type of gatekeeping is ridiculous.
@@LuisPerez-5 this isn’t gatekeeping. Playing locally is objectively and measurably better. Anyone that thinks streaming is as good is just not being honest. I love streaming tech. I’m a huge fan. We just need the next gen of internet for it to be truly good. Also none of these devices have Wi-Fi 6e yet. That would make a massive difference.
@NotQuiteNerdy Again, my point was that it's not as horrible as you make it seem. If you have a good connection, it is 100% playable. Will playing locally be better ofcourse but streaming is again not as bad as you bake it look. Wifi5 is more than capable of getting a good and playable stream.
I would buy the steam deck but it’s so hard to get right now and I don’t know what website I have to buy it right now
Buy it right on Steam. They ship in 1-2 weeks. Totally available right now.
How do I buy it from steam how do I go to the website steam
store.steampowered.com/
Make a login. Add payment info. Then purchase a steam deck.
You can deadass buy one upfront right now
I got this because i already have a gaming PC. So i didn't see point of getting a steamdeck. Its another thing ill spending money on upgrading and if i want the OLED version i got to pay 550 bucks. Plus it only runs Steam games. I got lot of stuff on Gog and other services. I like that the G-Cloud is laid out like a normal xbox controller. Seriously who needs those Touchpad on the Steamdeck. I hardly see anyone ever using them. Im not going pay Nintendo money to play the same games i bought in 1992. My Only complaint is that there isn't a official dock for the thing. Yeah its 100 bucks too expensive. But i like it anyways.
Did you try the SD card with exfat?
No go from what I know. But I didn’t try it.
@@notquitenerdy because as far as I know Android supports exfat
Uhhh, where's ayn Odin in this? It's on the title...
Sorry. Wasn’t worth spending the money on for me at the time. I still think it’s better than a dedicated streaming device. If you like tinkering
I have no problems with CZcams on this. Unless it was a new update that came out.
It had to be an update. That’s the cost o pay for being an early adopter. Hopefully they watch these videos and make the updates needed. Haha
Xcloud works as well is your internet is
Well that’s mostly true. The device and latency from your router make a massive difference.
Do you have to pay to play your own steam games
You can just stream them. You do t pay for the steam games. It’s a local network streaming.
Remember There's a Lenovo Coming out With Windows 11.
I want to buy one for the channel but I have a feeling it’s gonna be $1,000. I hope not.
$699.00 at best buy@@notquitenerdy
Meh i will rather go for rog ally or steamdeck
Now that's a good decision. thanks for watching and commenting. :-)
This device is great for children because it can keep them focused on gaming and not doing other things with the device that they shouldn't. This device has limits for adults but seems great for those needing limits.
Good comment. And you can switch to tablet mode for those that want to take the limiter off. Appreciate you watching.
Why not just get a switch OLED, plus you get all the awesome Nintendo IP games
Have one. Just for the Nintendo IP. But everything else is better on every other console or PC. Haha.
Game streaming is not good enough yet❤
Stream “real” games? are their fake games? 😂
Mobile games are fake games lol. Nice catch.
@@notquitenerdy mobile games are real TRASH games that have no business existing in the world 🤣
Wow what a negative attitude i could only watch for 6 minutes. Guess thats why your channel isnt very big.
If you watched the whole thing you would have gotten a very fair explanation of my opinion. My channel isn’t big because I stopped making. Videos. The first 1100 subscribers was from 7 videos for reference. I got busy though. Thanks for watching. Try finishing videos before you review them. 😘
I'm not sure about ur pricing. You say it's too expensive, but you recommend the steam deck, which also streams games and is more expensive
The steam deck is a way greater value. It plays games locally. It’s not a “streaming device” it’s a full blown console. The entire steam library of real video games. Steam deck is a full computer too that can be docked into a mentor and make a full desktop. All for $50 more than this device. The GCloud by comparison does none of those and needs another console or service for you to play games unless you like android games, but then most don’t work with the controller built in. My pricing is correct. Steam deck is an incredible value.
