- I am back in action!
After five and half months since i shattered my femur in a avalanche, while skiing...... I am back!
I documented a lot of the progress from incident to today.
It has been a heck of a ride.
@orbea @norrona @GoPro - Sport
If anyone could pull through an accident like that, it's you! Honored to have you as an athlete. 🚲
That means a lot to me.
Thank you so much.
Honoured to represent such a strong brand.
The hardest and trickiest feature to handle on the trail to recovery…I know how hard it gets sometimes…in 2011 a stupid and slow crash “gave” me a broken tibia&fibula (and also an additional “valuable titanium kit” 😅) and today, with 55, I’m still sending it… so you still have so much time to ride and shred!! 💪
Love to hear that dude. Good on you!
Getting there day by day!
Super hard being patient but you need to listen to your body.
I got some nice titanium upgrades also hahaha
True champion
Thanks brotha
You're a warrior buddy!!! Thanks for sharing the process; excited to see you back 100% and shredding!!!!
Thanks brotha!
Appreciate it
Let’s get out soon here
Gret mental fortitude to be patient, positive and getting back out there to ride again!! Much Love!! Stay STOKED!!
Thank you so much!!!
Awesome watching the recovery! Cool idea to document it in video like this.
Thanks dude! Been a hell of a journey
Dude, You are da man... You went through it like BRRrrap!
Hahaha thanks man! Felt like forever
Glad to see you back in action and recovered well Geoff !
Thanks Stuart.
Appreciate the message
You’re very strong and patiently, congratulations Geoff !! I admire you
Thank you very much!
brilliant dude so happy to see you back doing what you love..... that new rise looks sweeet 🤘🤜👍
Thanks so much dude
Inspirational, you always have a great attitude! Also great to see how much the ebike helped your recovery! 🙏
Thanks so much!
Seriously. Those bike sped this process up big time
Happy to see you recovering so well. Keep it up.
Thank you so much!
Happy to hear your recovering well Gully! If I ever injure myself and have a long road to recovery I could have this video to look back on to stay positive.
Thank you so much!
Really appreciate it
What a strong recovery. Proud to know you Geoff!
Thanks ma brother! Look forward to riding with you again
Rides Bobsled on a broken leg faster than I do with two unbroken legs! 🤔 Glad to see you're back on the bike.
Hahaha thanks brotha
God I can relate to this, I’m at 12 months from a tib fib fracture. The joy of getting to 90 deg with the knee! The rehab is hard work, great video
It’s hard work man.
Keep pushing it as hard as you can. Need to make your exercises a priority
@@GeoffGulevich yeah definitely, the muscle atrophy in the quad is the hardest thing rebuilding. Back riding though
@@ChippyTim just need to keep working at it eh
Oh shit Gully !
Best wishes amigo, hope your back on soon.
I watch the BlackCanyon trail video often, heartwarming to see the OG shredders on Az dirt !
Appreciate it brotha!
I’m back baby!!!! Been a hell of a recovery
Very stoked for you and your recovery! I spent most of last year rehabbing a badly broken shoulder and the scenes from your PT sessions really struck a chord with me. It's amazing that our bodies can recover from such savagery, but it's a brutal process getting there!
Appreciate the kind words ma man. It’s no easy task to come back from these things.
How’s everything going with you now?
@@GeoffGulevich Things are good now and I have about 90% range of motion. Doesn't impact on the bike at this point. Turning 55 this year and recovery takes time.
@@lgrankin that’s great to hear. Keep pushing!
Gully you're a beast bro 💪 still being in recovery myself from breaking my Scapula as well as a couple of ribs for good measure 5 weeks ago... You're a true inspiration man! I'm 43 years old (no spring Chicken 😂) accidents and surgeries take a lot longer to heal up to get back to where you were! But not you my friend! You Stomped it bro ! 💪👊🤘 Keep the content coming dude and glad you're still with us shredding.
Thanks brotha.
Definitely takes real commitment to get back to it!
How are you’d sling after 5 weeks?
@@GeoffGulevich doing good bro, got out of the sling a few weeks ago and started doing lots of physio and training to get all healed up, got about 70% movement back already 🤘 mentally keeping busy and positive and focusing on getting back in the bike and healthy again 💪 just gotta chill and take it as it comes but I will get there man 💯 it's great to see you back and healthy bro 👊 it fired me up seeing you in this video man and thanks for replying bro 💪💯👊🤘
@@highlandtraildogs heck ya!!!! Keep on crushing it brotha! Patience is very key to healing too.
Took Mt a while to accept it
All is good Geoff 🤘
Thanks dude!
One hellava story. Glad you’re back on 2 wheels where you belong.
Thanks brotha! Me too!!!
wow, tough recovery journey but you are strong and dedicated. so happy for you buddy! inspiration!
Appreciate it!
Been a hell of a journey
Dude, it's been twisted honour to watch you bounce back like a beast! 10:07 gets me every time. I thought foam rolling hurts but this makes my hair curl!!! Hacia adelante hermano
Thanks so much man! Yeah. There was some weird stuff lol
Stoked to be getting back to it
Amazing to see your recovery Geoff! You are truly an inspiration behind what hard works does and the importance of mind over matter. Congrats to you!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Means the world to me and helps me continue pushing!
Congrats on your recovery, Geoff, great to see you back out and getting it!
Thank you so much! Appreciate it!
Hey Gully keep it going bro! Hope you found the fairway on Thursday, course was playing mint.
Thanks Phil
Was a round. That’s for sure.
How was yours
@@GeoffGulevich a few mistakes but a solid 83. Really enjoyed that course, will definitely be back.
@@philjepsen good lad
Keep grinding. I too am facing an issue w my right femur. I had an AVN (Avascular Necrosis). My femoral head was not getting enough blood and the joint was collapsing. On meds for 18 mos but it is still not right. Go to find out if I should get a hip replacement next week. The only good thing is I have been able to ride w limited pain... just had to dial things back. I just can't walk or stand for any extended time. Nothing will keep me off my bikes.
Damn dude. I’m sorry to hear about the complications. Keep pushing and staying positive brother.
I know it’s hard but all the effort and patience will be worth it
@@GeoffGulevich Thanks man. Doc says I can ride w the hip replacement if I have to that route.
You have inspired me to not be afraid of the surgery. The chronic pain is more mentally/emotionally taxing than physically disabling. Still rippin though! Gotta keep positive like you have done.
@@petedog9581 positivity will keep you thriving my friend. Best of luck
@@GeoffGulevich I have a great support group in my wife and kids. My teenage son and I have logged many miles this Summer, but mainly around town. Need more dirt. Cheers! Proud of your dedication and recovery. Keep the dope content coming.
@@petedog9581 nice work dude!
I will definitely keep it coming
Super happy that you've fully recovered and you can shred again! Would love to see a video on your new Orbea Wild! Is that the M-TEAM? Which colour is it? Looks awesome. And congratulations on your amazing recovery!
Thanks Brendan
Not fully there yet but I’m close
I’ll be making a video on the Wild soon enough
It is the M Team with custom colours
Oh man it's amazing to see all that progress. I had a nasty accident three months ago where I broke a vertebra and had to spend three weeks in the hospital bed unable to move, waiting for surgery. Luckily everything went great so now I'm on that trail to recovery myself. And after being in that danger zone of not being able to walk again, to now working towards healing and awaiting for that first ride again it's definitely a crazy feeling. But the every-day progress can really keep you positive. It's great and truly inspiring to see you pull that off Gully after all that you have been through!!
Holy smokes dude!
So great to hear that your recovery is going well after that scare.
Keep pushing and remember to rest. That’s my hardest issue
Appreciate the kind words my friend.
Best of luck!
@@GeoffGulevich haha yeah it's definitely hard to take it slowly, especially when you start to feel good again
@@NicolasScabuzzo big time
I’d be going the bankruptcy, or they probably let me die, considering I can’t afford health insurance.
