    Hey Snowtrax! Could you guys do a video comparing trail, crossover, and mountain sleds? How do mountain sleds handle on the trail? How do trail sleds handle off trail? Can crossover sleds actually keep up with mountain sleds in the mountains? I've looked all over and I can't find anyone comparing them. Tons of videos comparing mountain sleds to mountain sleds, or trail sleds to trail sleds, but I can't find anything comparing them with eachother! Specifically, I would really love to see a video of a crossover competing with a mountain sled off the trail! Thanks for all the videos you guys put out. Cheers!

    I’ve ran atv screws on sleds before. They worked alright. I wouldn’t recommend these on high horse power applications, but for the mxz sport it’s a good fit. Pro tip: dip the screw threads in weather strip cement before installing, they will hold better and you will have less rip out. Also when it bottoms out don’t spin it and strip the hole out.

    Finally woodies came out with these, I put iGrips in mine and my dad's sled. Basically like an ice ripper now, without the fuss of changing out a good track for an ice ripper, and good trail safety with the controllability and playfulness of non studded

    I'm going to spring order an Expedition Xtreme and this is the route I think I need to take as far as added traction goes. I think the Xtreme has the "silent" track which doesn't allow for conventional studs.

  • @MasaCheez

    How do these compare to a studded track? I'm going to assume the studded track wins out, but by how much? Of course it depends on number of studs, but just curious if there's ever been a direct comparison. I ride hard and always stud my track for safety purposes (99% trails and ditch). Just curious if these would ever be worth changing over to on a future sled.

    • @nickdesbiens4028

      No. Real stud are better .

    • @GotThrottles
      @GotThrottles Před 2 lety +2

      Yes studs are still better for ultimate traction, but it depends what you want. If studs offer 100% traction I would say the screw in type get you 70% of the trail safety. Also studs add 10lbs of rotating mass, cost a lot more, and take a lot longer to install. I’ve had good luck with iGrips over 100mph and none have come out.

      @@GotThrottles ... one thing you missed is this.... a typical 137" can take 96-112 studs up the middle.. IGRPIS at 1/10th the weight you can install around 225--288... so all those extra points of contact make up for anything a traditional stud setup can do. We have compared this side by side with identical sleds.. literally no traction difference in all conditions.... its why we all switched.... honestly we were shocked... but it is what it is.... we saw it and tested it and know the results we experienced...... nothing but igrips for us ...... between the 4 of us we have probably 50-60 thousand miles on them in the last 5 years... never lost one.. no damage to any sled ever.. and ZERO issues.

  • @rockettman2025

    Seems like a backwards way of doing things. The ice ripper tracks have the studs molded in not screwed. I could see these flying out and damaging heat exchangers. Hopefully they work but studs with nuts are still best.
