If both Ouran and Black butler's wonderland OVA's were to be put together then it would be so accurate to Alice's adventure's in wonderland~

    I LOVE both “Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland” and “Through The Looking Glass”! I’ve read both books and both are marvelous!! I have Asperger’s Syndrome and to me it seems like many of the denizens of Wonderland and Looking Glass Land do too. Alice interprets their mannerisms as strange, insane, nonsensical and rude-the same way many non-autistic people often interpret the mannerisms of those of us on the autistic spectrum. To me many of their mannerisms were perfectly sane and made a lot of logical sense. Now about them being “rude”........well, let’s see.....Alice follows a perfect stranger (The White Rabbit) right into his house. Most people would say this is not only rude but frightening because this is basically stalking. She walks into the Duchess’s house without any invitation-so to speak, breaking and entering, she snubs the Caterpillar by walking away from him in a huff simply because she didn’t understand his logic (Oh and by the way the Caterpillar is smoking presumably pot or opium which is one way some people with Asperger’s deal with this disability), she doesn’t even consider the Mother Bird’s point of view regarding her eggs and never even apologizes for the havoc she’s creating for this poor creature, she crashes the March Hare’s tea party and then leaves in a huff declaring “That was certainly the stupidest tea party I’ve ever been to!”, she looks down on all the citizens in both lands because their mannerisms are different than hers, she thinks HER way is the ONLY RIGHT WAY to do things and that everybody else’s way is “strange”, “absurd”, “curious” and downright INSANE..........so who’s the “rude” one NOW?

      2 PC games were made with Alice in Wonderland. Both have gothic horror themes, the 1st game kinda sticks to the story & it does feature Alice fighting the queen & the 2nd game is a sequel where we are told Alice's family are dead & she is put in a mental home but as the game progresses, you learn the mental home has a side job dealing in child prostitution & the head doctor is also a trafficker. Alice kills Dr. Bumpy when she finds that out. (Yes, that is his name)

      @@labelledamedumanor4876 If you're talking about American McGee's Alice (and the sequel, Alice: Madness Returns), her parents are actually dead in the first game. The opening cutscene of the first game shows how the cat knocked over a lamp during the night when Alice was seven years old, and that started a fire that burned Alice's house down and killed her parents; Alice was the only survivor. The fire left her traumatized and catatonic, so she was sent to a mental hospital. The first game takes place ten years after the fire, when Alice is 17 - she'd been in the institution the entire time since the fire and her parents' death. The second game actually takes place after she's been released.

    I don't think it was weird or creepy that he didn't like boys at all! He was teased and bullied as a child and back then parents didn't jump in like now, most kids had to deal with it on their own. Little girls back then were taught to be kind, caring, and loving, compassionate little caregivers, in preparation for their future roles in life as wives and mothers. Given his childhood and his insecurities, he probably didn't care for "society" , especially if those who tormented him in his youth, and was somewhat immature emotionally, finding himself comfortable and relaxed in the only company that has never made him feel badly...Young girls. Besides,not ALL men are out to attack children, and during that era it wasn't uncommon for an unmarried family friend who was done of children to devote themselves to the friend's children, taking the role of a favorite aunt or uncle. I, for one, have never believed the innuendos made about Dodgson's relationship with children, especially Alice....I'm not saying such things didn't happen, I know they did, but I don't believe it to be the case here.

    Jon, this excursion through Alice's adventures is a true E ticket (Disney reference for you). I always thought the reason Carroll's books are timeless is because they are 85% conversation, which read aloud beautifully to young audiences. The descriptions and imagery really just set up the characters and their colorful discussions with Alice, who holds her own in return. I'd wager most of her dialogue are things that Alice Liddell actually said during those riverside picnics with her siblings and "Dodo" Dodgson. And yes, the Cheshire Cat may get all the love, but the Caterpillar's advice is where Wonderland gels best.

    Have you considered that Lewis Carroll might have been born with moderate to high functioning autism? As he grew up, he would likely find the boys a bit too rough and might gravitate to girls who were not so boisterous. As he grew into adulthood, he may have been confused by adult relationships and adult social politics. Hence the continued relationships with young girls - they would be easier to deal with - and the retreat into the somewhat ordered and understandable world of academia.
    (By It he could just have been a paedophile too scared to actually put his feelings into practice.)

    • @meinich4794
      @meinich4794 Před 5 lety +112

      Hmm, actually that's a pretty neat theory.
      And it would fit in what Jon Solo explained about him.
      I agree with you that girls usually are easier to deal with ;)
      But on the other hand, actual pedophilia might be an explanation too.
      For this, it is important to know the actual meaning of it.
      Nowadays, pedophilia seems to be used synonymously to child abuse.
      But that's not the same.
      Pedophilia (considered as a mental disorder) is the attraction/love towards children.
      And if Lewis Carroll would actually have been a pedophile, he might have also been a functioning one.
      Jon stated that he was quite intellectual, so he might have known about the consequences if he would let himself go.
      But. Love is not all about sex, right?
      He might have put his feelings into action.
      Through befriending girls, entertaining them and making them happy.
      All that without any sexual interaction. Because he knew that it would hurt them.
      And none of us would want to hurt a person we love either. Right?

    Liking girls is not odd, it's perfectly normal. I don't think Lewis Carroll was a deviant. He could have just enjoyed the company of young girls. I think children suffer when not exposed to adults socially so it could have been a very positive relationship, evidence points to that. I'm cutting Lewis Carroll the benefit of the doubt.

    • @andrewflores12

    • @emmaelisha1339
      @emmaelisha1339 Před 5 lety +6

      @@andrewflores12 technically paedophilia is just the love of children, not all of them act on it and become child molesters and some even go into therapy etc. To get help. Do I excuse it? No, but if they don't act on it at all then am I gonna berate them, no.

    • @Irene-zb1zv
      @Irene-zb1zv Před 5 lety +13

      Emma Elisha, I can disagree with that. pedophilia does not mean the love of children, it means feeling sexual feelings towards and directed to children. it's not normal for a man to have a liking towards little girls in this day and age.

      @emmaelisha1339 Před 5 lety +4

      @@Irene-zb1zv yeah THIS day and age that wasn't now and he even said that then and now is different. We can't call him a paedophile cause we don't know if he was sexually attracted to women

    • @Aspenowles34
      @Aspenowles34 Před 5 lety +5

      I agree. Also, children are usually a lot less judgemental than adults, so maybe because Carroll was so self conscious about the way he looked, he preferred to surround himself with children because they didn't 'make fun' of his appearence and stutter.
