Just a warning; the new bill which Johnson put forward and which is now in the senate for passage... one of the new provisions they added apart from making some of the money a loan instead of aid (8billion or so) has to do with long-range weapons specifically-- it basically says all a President has to do is say "oh I'm worried about national security" and they can cut-off supplies of missiles and long-rage weapons unilaterally without having to ask Congress. They undoubtedly know how important these weapons are so they slipped this in to make sure that if Trump takes the whitehouse again, they will be able to terminate re-supply of ATACMS and PATRIOTs immediately- and they will. Trumps' chief of staff this time would probably be neo-NATC Steve Bannon, who is a SELF-described Leninist (just more proof of what I've always said that Leninists and Stalinists have always been reactionary deviants!) and true believer in turning the USA into Putin's RuZZia. So, alas, the struggle is ongoing....

@@brianlowther5929 I am honestly impressed. People tend to downplay the figures, but look at the reality. Aid as a % of GDP helps clarify a bit. Needless to say, the UK has given more than the US as a % of GDP even though the numbers are wildly different. In these trying times, it is far more than even that looks. I am kinda shooting my country in the foot a little, but it proves an important point.

- The bridge construction is so massive that even the hottest shit from west would have trouble completely destroying a whole segment
- The weapons delivered are desperately needed to keep the status quo for the next year
But who knows - Ukrainians are known for the craziest ideas.

And you know, russia has a lot of security in and around this bridge for a reason. If they believed it to be indestructible, why waste those resources?

@@alexanderlehner1849 It could be possible if they target the base of the bridge rather than the road like last time. Once the foundation is compromised it’s a nightmare to repair and could render the bridge obsolete if it’s hit in multiple locations. If they are going to target it, they will do so before the completion of the new railway in order to gain a strategic advantage. I think that’s why people are saying it will come down soon because there won’t be the same strategic advantage in 2025, once the new train line is complete. I could be wrong, but we shall see. 🇺🇦💪
First the S400 systems are cleaned up and some surface ships are converted into submarines so that UA has the airspace for itself. Then it is a matter of throwing enough at it, but it is important to take the track out of service but keep the road as an escape route. Fleeing must be a better option than fighting UA. The more life returns, the more the RUS population hears what really happened.

I adopted the new guy last September from the Oregon Humane Society which is a wonderful operation.

There is absolutely no point in trying to reason or negotiate with a bully (such as Russia) as a bully would see this as a sign of weakness. Moreover, if a bully did agree to negotiate then this would be a result of losing the conflict and would in no way prevent them from repeating their hostilities at a time of their choosing. Therefore, they must be confronted (and preferably soundly defeated) by the innocent party (such as Ukraine) which should also arm itself to the teeth so that any future occurrence might be avoided.
We are also very grateful Anna, and will never forget how Ukrainian people so bravely defend their homeland and fight to defend democracy and freedom. We are so proud of you!

I saw the US flew 12 long range bombers as a flex against Russian nuclear threats. Our bombers are, unlike russian bombers, well maintained and kept ready to deploy. Also im a new subscriber.

Indeed. This aid should have passed in October 2023, so another bigger aid package could have passed today.
You misunderstand the problem: There really are a LOT of Republican VOTERS infuriated by the inflation in the US (which the Biden Admin. simply lies about), our national debt is just completely out of hand, and Biden's own FBI is expecting a major terrorist attack, likely through operatives coming through our southern border. Plus Russia can play major psyops with these issues. HOW do you convince the public these issues do not take precedence?
There ARE good arguments to support Ukraine, but Biden seems incapable of making them. Nor did you just make one. Granted that half the arguments would scorch Biden. "Weakness invites aggression." Oops.

I think single shot ATACMS are better for bridge destroying than GIMLRS. Storm Shadow would work, and their double warheads could go through the bridge deck & detonate on the supports below. However they’re bery useful for bringing down command bunkers too so it depends how many are available 😻

Ultimatum Ulta-mate-um. Russia only responds to force. That is reality. Russia was always going to attack someone, hindsight is 20/20. If the baltics never joined NATO, things could have been much worse for them instead of Ukraine. It would have been nice if the past unfolded differently, and somehow Ukraine could have gotten pre-war membership. This is life, we must do what is needed to make up for past failures.
I hope soon, it's time to end the occupation from Crimea.

Anna, I'm glad that the legislation funding additional aid that was sent from the House to the Senate passed today. I hope that Biden has signed it already. I'm furious that it has taken so long. I'm glad that the UK has approved additional aid. I'm grateful that our European allies have stepped up support while Americans were taking a nap. But THIS American couldn't sleep.
