they used a similar design all the way up to 2009 with the dc29. and the dc29 was still being sold in 2017 so that just shows how futuristic the dc08 was

Ok so, serious question: what would be the benefit of a canister vac over a modern upright "lift away"-type machine? Most of the canisters I see perform worse than uprights and cost a bajillion dollars more.

Uprights generally have stretch hoses which make the machine fall over in use, a cylinder vacuum has a longer non stretch hose so they’re ideal for above the floor cleaning like cars
