The trumpet noise keeps frustrating me. I've took the machine apart many times to see what it might be. I've checked all seals and cleaned them.
On mine the hairs got stuck inside one of the bearings and it caused such friction the heat slowly melted the bearing away over time. What a terrible design....plastic bearings

Hi, can this also be used on laminate and lino floors, please? I live in a house that has a combination of carpets, rugs and hard floors and it's going to be a pain to have to keep changing heads. I want a single tool that does it all.
Hi, yes it can be used on hard floors too, I think the newer ones have a rubber strip behind the brushbar to prevent debris being scattered behind the floortool, if it has this then it’s definitely suitable for hard floors 👍🏽
@@parwaz7861 Thank you so much! The only unfortunate thing is Numatic haven't produced a tangle-free version, unlike Dyson and Shark. If they did, they would annihilate the competition.

I bought a shark duo head power lift away and it didn’t do as good as my old navigator. I’ve been a big shark fan but the duo clean isn’t horrible on carpets
They are good machines but they just don’t seem to deep clean as well as other vacuums

Does the motor spin on its own with the belt off? If so, the bearing or cog will be jammed, if then motor still doesn’t run without the belt, it’ll need a new floortool

You had to go over it , more than some other vacuums. Still a good vacuum.
Yup, the DC15 has a less powerful motor compared to other Dysons and the cleanerhead design wasn’t perfect, as it seems to lift away from the floor slightly when pulling the vacuum back But despite this, it still seems to work quite well! The brushbar is very powerful and brings the life back into carpets
