Hey guys, In the video we mention that you need eARC functionality on your TV to get the "True Dolby Atmos" Experience. This is true if you want a 7.1 or higher Uncompressed Atmos experience.
Older TVs with HDMI 1.3 and 1.4 won't support ATMOS. Newer TVs with a HDMI 2.0 Dolby Atmos Enabled Standard ARC port may support Compressed 5.1 Atmos on limited apps. The only eARC will support uncompressed Atmos on many external devices such as Roku, Bluray etc.

Compares to sony st5000 and yamaha 5600 which is better?
@@Sky-8646 that's tough, I think it beats the Sony but the Yamaha would give it a serious run for its money. We may need to compare those two
Divine AV Home Theater I’ll be waiting for compares..
Divine AV Home Theater i heard the sono have some bass problems..
@@Sky-8646 not really, it has some overextension that they are going to fix in the software. People need to turn it down a little bit for now. That's the same with most sound bars on the market, unless they are limited with the software, you can obviously reach peaking and Distortion if you wish
Looking forward to getting my hands on this!
Derick with Divine here man!Yours is coming in next week my friend!
I'll get with Warren and figure out the scheduling out for that, yours will be the first one we install;)
Divine AV Home Theater yep he reached out and said Wednesday! Thanks man,
Hey guys, flawless review. I too am running Playbar, Sub version 2 and 2 x Ones. Can’t wait to hear the Arc. Biggest compliment I can give you is that you were in GB 🇬🇧 LIVERPOOL, i wouldn’t hesitate to have you guys do a better set up for me. Your enthusiasm is overflowing and you come across as very humble. Well done guys 👍👍👏
Hey Jeff, It means so much to us that you took the time to write that. If we are ever out there on vacation, we will reach out. The Playbar is still a great unit. It is amazing that it was introduced 7 years ago and is still that good. The ARC is a whole new ball game. Thanks for the support. Take care
I own both and in my opinion Playbar sounds better for music, but the arc is a monster for TV. Amazing sound effects.
you guys are so passionate about these things. i love it.
subbed!
Thank you my friend, that means a lot to us
I used to have a $10k sound system years ago, Magnapan flat panel speakers, Velodyne sub, Sonance 1000w Amp, Yamaha receiver, was a monster home theatre system, but then I discovered Sonos. Bought the Playbar, Sub and Surrounds, sold the old system and have never looked back, I now have a Sonos speaker in every room of the house, and will never go back, amazing system, been 7 years now and zero issues
Great content guys and I just recently set mine up and I’m running to sub at about 4Db hot. It makes a huge difference.
I just bought it next week will be delivered to my place, can't wait.
Great review. I just received this past week, I had the complete Sonos system all I did was change out the Playbase for the Arc. I used a Dolby Atmos disc to demo. Amazing sound quality, my friends were blown away.
Awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It really is a very good bar. It's definitely pretty close to a real entry level Dolby Atmos surround system.
So you don’t need to upgrade the whole 5.1 System? It’s enough to only upgrade the ARC and you get the same quality ? This would be nice as i already own the old system. But for what they changed the play 1 and subwoofer?
Vita S. I don’t know what they upgraded the ones and the subwoofer I don’t see what kind of difference that makes. The arc does make a noticeable difference.
@@Goten.2752 yeah, you can just swap out the bar and you'll have a wider soundstage and better atmospheric simulated surround. Your current subwoofer and surrounds would be just fine. The upgrades are minor
I’m sure the Arc is amazing, but I just purchased athe playbar, with the sub, and two one’s and using it at half volume surrounds my living room with terrific audio. It’s amazing how long the Playbar been around it still sound this good. Credit to Sonos for making great products.
Isn't it crazy how good that Playbar is after 7 years? That's an awesome set up, enjoy
Divine AV Home Theater thanks
That’s what I’ve got brilliant
Returned my Arc and kept the Playbar. Much smoother mids and top end. The Arc needs work, still sounds way too shrill and harsh.
bonedaddy33 really? I’m looking to buy an arc, yours is the first negative comment I heard about it. So you recommend the playbar about the arc? Could you please tell more about your experience ?
Thanks. Great review.
Just purchased the Arc sub and rears. Unreal sound. This thing thumps. Amazing quality.
Thank you four the super review 👏👏👏👍😉 Monday I order my Samsung 55-90T with the Arc and New subwoofer
Awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you haven't already ordered your Arc you can give us a call and we'll help you out. TVs are a little too expensive for us to ship so unless you're local I'd say it's better to get that where you're at. Take care buddy
you might need a 65" as the 55" may look too small with this sucker if on wall. however i guess i wouldn't care cause the beam is not my favorite SB. I am jealous of your new system...
@@BTheInstaller I agree with you man. Ours in our shop is an 82", a 55 inch TV is only going to clear the Arc by 3 or 4 inches or so but if your room is small or you're sitting close its still going to be larger than the Arc and will still look very sleek. But yes I'd still say bigger is always better!
Great vid guys. I'm stoked to throw it in a room and finally get something with an actual ARC from sonos cause the Beam was a little weak. I wish they could package a sub in for sub $1500 right?
Thanks for sharing....ARC 👍👍
I've never gotten doing videos of listening to speakers, but the music listening part was one of the most impressive videos I've seen / heard. The SPACE and soundstage the ARC has over the Playbar was HUGE from the word GO.
We are glad you enjoyed it. We have some really cool stuff to come. Going to use an even better mic next time. Stay tuned my friend.
Great video! you guys made my decision making much more easier, once I saw that bow you had me convinced Lol and also to subscribe..
Yes very good unit, some people are talking some smack about it but honestly it's pretty awesome. It could definitely use a subwoofer but that's the same with any soundbar. Enjoy it
didn't expect you guys to even look at soundbars. cool demo. What I'd like to see, the oomphage of soundbars, can you guys stick a SPL device to the camera positioned at the emperor's position, to "see" whether these bars have enough juice to fill any given AV room.
Yeah, we do thru house installation as well so we thought it would be worth it. You know what's funny, we actually had a meter set up at the time. We should have put that in the shot like you're saying. Not really enough juice in my opinion. I mean it sounds good but it was only creating 84 to 87 decibels which is fine and all but I have to use a spectrum analyzer to see what frequencies we are producing peak Db at. I was left wanting a bit more "juice". But still pretty good for a soundbar. There's a couple more units coming out soon from other brands. They change my friend. Take care buddy
@@DivineAV Divine AV Home Theater cool! 80+ is plenty loud! I never watch movies at reference level, dialogue @75dB is what's comfortable for mostly (due to) my family. that's plenty juice coming from a little bar. I would definitely consider a soundbar in my living room to replace all the speakers and wires.
Installed an ARC on Thursday. Leaps and bounds better than the Playbar. Absolutely impressed.
This is my first one ever! It comes tomorrow, I can't wait!
I have the Arc, sub and surrounds. The Arc is amazing, it really does create surround almost making the conventional surrounds redundant. Only hear them actually working 10-20% of the time
In the application you can actually manually turn up the surrounds if you'd like to hear them a bit more. Pretty awesome system
Divine AV Home Theater of course but I think trueplay has it dialled in pretty close was more just refering to the arcs ability to deliver usable sound in place of the surrounds if you disable them 🙂
@@DivineAV you can turn up the rear surrounds just as before but i have not found a place to adjusted the new Atmos upward firing speakers
Wow thank you
I got both at the same time to do my own comparison and decided to return the Arc. Although it sound really good, I could not get the lip sync down. It was off no matter what I adjusted. The Playbar honestly sounds really good for it being over $250 less. Took that difference and got a pair of One SL’s
Right on, the only thing you're really missing there with the playbar would be dolby atmos. The Atmos content that the Arc reproduces is incredible (for a sound bar that is). But yeah I totally get it if you were having lip sync issues, that can be a real pain trying to get synced up perfectly. Happy listening and holidays my friend!
The play bar better
Good video guys 👍
Thanks, we appreciate the support
I just got the ARC yesterday, and it’s a monster! The packaging is equal to Apple products, and be warned that the ARC is a bit heavy. I did have problems connecting it to my subwoofer and surrounds, but fixed it after a lot of trial and error. Connecting an Ethernet to the ARC helped, because the ARC called for an update on my app. After the update, the ARC connected flawlessly. The sound will blow your mind!
Awesome!!! Yea its quite a product. Thanks for your input. Love it.
Well put my friend. Ive noticed the same thing with the Playbar over the years, it really likes its hardwired ethernet connection to operate flawlessly. Glad you got yours set up, enjoy your system man!
Side note if theres ever any future problems Sonos love its soft resets, simply unplug it and plug it back in.
Rock on man!
Divine AV Home Theater Thank you for the side note 📝👍🏻
Thanks guys for the awesome review. Are you planning to demo a Sonus Arc with Dual Sub Gen3 setup?
Hi guys, great review and enjoyed watching it from the UK. I have just sold my playbar to upgrade to the Arc. Looking forward to it, especially after your review. I was wondering how this compared to a true 5.1.2 set up via an amp and in ceilings speakers?
Hey buddy, thank you so much. A full set up with actual in ceiling speakers will definitely be better but it doesn't discount the fact that this is a very good bar and will be quite enjoyable
To be honest Matthew it really doesn't compare at all.
You guys convinced me to buy the Sonos ARC. This review is fantastic... thnx for it...
You're very welcome and you won't regret it
Great video. Lots of questions about earc it seems. Streaming apps will work with arc for atmos in some applications such as netflix ( list only 52 shows in canada for atmos)
from the TV. ( at least you should from a more modern TV). Consider these audio tracks compressed much like mp3 ares...LOL. But if you have other devices going into the TV and then sound out from the sound bar, you will want to check on that device for what you get. Example Apple Tv requires earc if you want atmos. This is one reason receivers excel for auto quality. Everything go into a receiver and picture goes to Tv and sound goes speakers. Formats such has DTS-X work whereas those formats don't work on Sonos. Then again most don't have a dedicated room they can wire up. Sonos is very limited on sound formats. In fact new S2 only supports Hi Res from local content and can not be played through streaming services such as Tidal, etc. If I were being honest I get more enjoyment from my rear speakers then from atmos. I only have a 9ft ceiling. I moved my Playbar to another TV in a spare room. I equally enjoyed it with a the sub and rears. I have a feeling the next couple of years will be interesting with tech with hdmi 2.1 becoming more common as we push for 8k tv ( despite no real content) and of course wifi 6. 8 k Tv sales will get driven by have hdmi 2.1 support I think. I could be wrong. Not sure if and when sonos will support wifi 6 in their gear.
Great comparison. I just sold my play bar to buy the arc. I’m sure I made the right choice
You made the right choice
You certainly did I have the Arc it’s amazing I used to have the Playbase.
Thanks a lot for the video. In my view the playbar has a better price/quality ratio, you get the Playbar very cheap at the moment. Obviously ARC sounds a bit better, but does one really hear/need that? Thanks again for your great video. This is just my own view about thi.s
nice job guys from sweden here i wich may do you recomend this bar on the wall up to the tv or in same place you have on the video?
It's a pretty good experience down at your level but it definitely looks nicer and gets the atmos overhead speakers a bit closer to the ceiling when you mount it on the wall. Either way will work great
Great review guys. Question I subscribe to VUDU but can’t seem to find the sound test “Unfold” please advise
Unfortunately that was removed a long time back. Anyone who downloaded it before, still has access to it. You can find a lot of the discs on eBay. You may be able to also download them from the Dolby website. If you have an Xbox one s, you can download the Dolby access application and play many trailers from there
Great video. Can you link the Arc up with play 1’s like you can the playbar and sub or do you need SL’s?
Yes you can. Thanks for watching
this help solidify my decision! is it possible to record these tests with a mic that does binaural recording? I don't know if that would help in giving us listeners a better experience with the atmos effects?
Good suggestion, we are looking into doing full 5.1 recordings as well
Hey guys, great video, i know this is a few months old... But i had a question about compatibility/functionality. Doing a home theatre setup I want to use a projector and screen. Will the following work fo? Optoma P2 Cinemax 4k UHD (has arc), using a HD Fury to convert to eARC and using a Shield? Will that work?
Excellent review ! Can you give me a little comparison / advise with the Samsung HW-Q90R ? thanks !
Hey there, we're not big fans of the Samsung Soundbars because it seems like their development is lacking a bit. High frequency response is definitely better on the Sonos Arc. Also the Sonos application architecture is definitely more advanced and seemless.
With that said, the Samsung may have a slight Edge on the overhead sound reflection experience and that's probably because they are pushing a little bit more power to those upward firing drivers. Thanks for watching my friend
@@DivineAV Thanks you very much for your quick and complete answer my friend ! ;)
Arc sounds nice and bright but the playbar seems to have a better lower end. Imo the highs are much cleaner on the Arc. You can always add more lower end with the sub.
Totally Agree
Great video! I am considering getting the entire bundle (the Sonos Arc, the sub, and the 2 rear speakers). The package goes for $1,865 on the Sonos site; would you be able to do better on the price? I am in Illinois. Thanks in advance.
Hey boss, please send us an email to divineavinc@gmail and our office manager will have an estimate prepared right away
If you have and old Sonos bridge or sonos play 5 generation 1 online they are giving 30% coupon at Sonos.com thats about 550$ savings if you order the bundle you stated and upgrade your old Sonos items .. there are other items that qualify for the upgrade coupon as well just look online for the list .. they are also doing this at Best Buy but you need to have 3 separate items to get 30% off each item.. if you don’t have maybe look on marketplace for a used one and take to Best Buy.. I am picking mine up tomorrow from Best Buy very excited especially for the 30% off..
I just purchase the Bose 700 Soundbar and about to buy the sub. I'm thinking of returning and swapping out for the ARC. Can you let me know which one is better? Will you have a Bose 700 vs. Arc review?
We don't usually sell the Bose bar but will consider it. The ARC is definitely more popular. Doesn't mean much though
I have an existing Sonos system with playbar works fine but looking to upgrade to the arc is over priced in Australia but I'll get there
Hi,
I’m thinking about “upgrading” from the playbar to the ARC, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it since my Samsung tv only supports DD+(ARC). Is it going to feel like it’s actually surround sound? (which I think my playbar is lacking)
I chose the Playbar when just listening via my headphones very surprised.
Nice ...
I have an Epson 5050 Projector ..
and i have a play bar with two sonos one and a sub.
for media i use a fire tv,
will i see a major upgrade?
Hi, great review. I have a Sony TV (arc only no earc) which can put thru Digital Plus and have a Bose Sous bar 300 with Sub and rear speakers. Thought of selling it and getting the Sonos Arc with sub and rear speakers. Would this be a better sound? Or maybe getting the senneheiser and connect Apple TV 4K for Atmos? Thanks for your advice
Hey boss, as far as sound, yes I think the Sonos would be better. There's a few threads out there people saying they encountered some issues with the drivers and that sort of thing but we haven't personally experienced any of those and ours sounds great at all levels. Even MAX volume. As far as your TV goes, it should pass Dolby Atmos to be a Dolby Digital Plus through arc port with in built apps. You may encounter issues with external devices passing Atmos through that TV. You'll have to do some testing
@@DivineAV thanks. Indeed. A local store here as a good offer for the Senneheisser Ambeo and would be same price as a Sonos Set with sub & rear speaker. But worried of not getting full Atmos feeling of the Sonos as Digitial Plus will compress what I read. so having a Apple TV4k with Atmos connected to the Sennheiser will be for sure Atmos... pity Sonos did such a great product so limited. thanks for your reply have a great day
Really struggling to get some sort of list of TVs that have Earc port built in ??
Can comments on differences strictly of voice articulation and clarity on sound-bar vs Arc during TV & movie ..thanks
Regarding the Arc, what about rooms with very high ceilings? I currently rock the Playbar, but I’ve wondered how the Atmos would fare in a room that doesn’t have typical dimensions.
Great Vid, Thanks!
Hey my friend, rooms with high ceilings will pretty much negate the Atmos capabilities of the ARC. If I were you, I would just stick with the play bar.
@@DivineAV
Greatly appreciated!
How do I find if the Samsung Q7F has eARC? I don’t believe it does and therefore probably not worth upgrading from the playbar.
Thoughts?
The arc clearly has better highs..but definitely needs a sub in comparison to the playbar. I couldn’t hear the bass that well but of course I’m listening through CZcams 😂
Question concerning the hard line ethernet connection. Can the Arc (or any other Sonos product for that matter), get software updates without an ethernet connection via wifi? I'm looking at building out a new Sonos system with an Arc, Sub, Ones (x2) for my den. Any thoughts on the Move?
Hey my friend, yes they can be set up and updated without ethernet at all. All of their newer products are designed that way. The move is an awesome product, I carry mine around almost every day. Check out our review on it. Feel free to shoot us an email at Divineavinc@gmail and we would be happy to get you the best price on your full sonos system. Thanks for watching

I am sold
Its a good product. The Playbar also held its own though
Just what I was looking for good not sponsored by sonos review
Thanks my friend, yeah they didn't pay us for the review or provide us the product. We paid for it ourselves. We love that thing. It's now on display in our showroom.
Yeah nice to see an unbiased review. Plus best choice of a comparison gives a real good reference to the new device.
What’s the cost for Epson 4050 if I have to buy it from you guys ? Also I am looking at cost for EPV screen ef100h pst. My friend has same combo and I like it. I live at Houston so I hope shopping is free. I am looking at installer to install everything once i have all the stuff. I guess that way I can save some money. Thanks !

Just like you switch speakers, is there a demo you can do for amplifiers with same music track playing? Perhaps 4700, 6700, 8500 Denon?
We have some test videos coming out very soon. We will add that or something similar to the list
Hey guys !!! I purchased the Arc and the gen3 sub but I got only the sub and they have no idea when would I get the bar , and it really pissed me off and now I’m thinking to cancel the bar and get the playbay. What’s your concern wait for the arc whenever it comes or since not much a different so get the playbar instead????!!!!
Which sound is better for movies Sonos arc with the sub gen 3 and 2 one sl or Bose 700 with bass and 2 rear speakers?
how gonna compare with the NAKAMICHI soundbar? seems that one does work without eARC TV ...
Can you combine the Arc with any (active) sub? I have a REL S3 which i would like to complement this speaker?
Unfortunately it is designed only to work with the Sonos sub. Technically you could get a Sonos amp and then group the two zones together but it wouldn't be a proper LFE signal. We are experimenting with various adapters and audio extraction units. You may be able to use an arc compatible audio extractor and low-frequency crossover to make this happen but once again it's not a proper LFE signal. Thanks for watching
What would you say is better for atmos, the arc or the playbar + two play ones in the rear?
The Playbar doesn't support Atmos. The Arc is definitely quite improved over the Playbar. The Playbar has some positive attributes like a very nice mid-range frequency response. Arc with one's and a sub. Great combo
Hi there.. Great video👍 Between Sonos Arc and Bose 700 Soundbar, Which one would you recommend?! Am pulling my hair out unable to decide which one to go for?! Thanks
Sound quality is about the same, technology in the Sonos is more advanced. The application is better, the surround sound effect is better if in the proper environment. The Bose may have the slightest advantage in mid-range frequency response
Divine AV Home Theater Thanks.
@@gowthamb7271 Bose doesn't have earc and so will never do atmos. I expect their next version soundbar will be updated to include it. Sound for sound it appears bose sounds better from other reviews I have read.
Richard Humphrey Can atmos be included as a software update or Does the sound bar need to have earc port with it?!
@@gowthamb7271 Soundbar will have to have earc. I won't hold my breath that the chipsets in Bose will support earc. Other words I would not buy anything unless it was documented to have it, if that was what I wanted. I should also say sonos has earc and Tv has arc. Steaming apps such as netflix may work through Tv but it is also compressed audio. MP3 are also compressed audio, if you know what I am saying. Yes acceptable maybe.
Depends on the microphone, but I thought the soundbar far exceeded the ARC. The Arc didn't seem to have much colour? and definitely; lacked bass. Could work well with the subwoofer? But not sure where mid-range lies?? As said, the microphone is important, best to check it out in person.
Yeah it's definitely lacking mid-range but the bass is pretty decent. It's still a soundbar, audiophiles should avoid
Great job guys. Question? My tv has Arc but no eArc. So what are the connections with the AppleTV 4k since the Sonos bar has only one HDMI?
Hey boss, you connect your Apple TV to the TV using one of the other available HDMI ports and then the arc port on your TV goes to the soundbar to send the audio to the bar from the Apple TV and smart TV. You may need to go into the settings and enable Arc depending on the TV model. Because you don't have e Arc oh, you won't get full uncompressed Dolby Atmos but you should still get standard lossy Dolby Atmos 5.1
Divine AV Home Theater Thanks for your thorough and prompt reply!
Walt Kuiland .
Great review! I just ordered the Sonos ARC, can't wait, however, I'm concerned I won't get full Atmos experience. I have an LG 60UJ7700 w/ Active HDR with Dolby Vision + HDR10 + HLG and 4 (HDCP 2.2) HDMI Ports.... (I really don't know what any of this means!!!) BUT there is one HDMI ARC port. As long as I am playing a movie from a source with content that was recorded in ATMOS, will I be able to get the full
experience without "eARC"? Does Dolby Vision mean it has Dolby Atmos? Thanks!
Thank you very much, I don't believe your TV supports Atmos via ARC but many manufacturers provided software updates which allowed some of their HDMI 2.0 ports to provide Atmos in lossy format, compressed 5.1. The only way to know for sure is to go ahead and try it out when you get the bar. You can always upgrade your TV later. It sounds fantastic no matter what so don't worry about it too much. Think of it as more of a future proofing of your system
@@DivineAV Hello and thanks for the fast reply! When you say update my receiver, do you mean update my TV? I was afraid of this but at least I'l have improved voice, and probably a pretty kick-ass 5.1... I'm guessing??? Thanks!
Your TV will support Atmos over DD+. What this means is most streaming services who provide 4K with Atmos like Netflix do so over compressed DD+ stream. To verify this play any video from the Netflix app which has the Atmos label and the arc will get object data.
@@stevehall4854 yes, I meant TV. Sorry about that. Yea the 5.1 will be great. Make sure the software is up to date and it may actually do compressed Atmos

How would you compare the Sonos ARC to the Bowers Wilkins Formation Bar?

Does it worth to buy an Arc If you have a Lg C8 without earc?
My Sony xbr 900f has ARC only. Do I still get atoms effect or I need eARC ? Please help and thanks.
There was speculation about a software update at one point. Some people were saying they were able to stream lossy Dolby Atmos via Dolby Digital Plus from the USB drive. I would suggest getting then you sound bar and then trying to play Dolby Atmos content directly from the in built Smart TV applications. Anyone who owns this TV, please comment if you have tested these features with an Atmos enabled soundbar. Thanks guys
Found the Playbar better In the music tbh
In the mid bass frequency response, we agree with you. Highs are fantastic on the ARC and ATMOS actually worked quite well
Divine AV Home Theater i rather have midbase than high
My guess would be this is aimed more to be paired with the sub then an all around standalone beast like the playbar is.
@@appel1800 then get yourself a good deal on a Playbar before they're gone.

I wil sell mine and get arc. ( i also have the sub and 2x play 1 for surround ) i still dont know if i will trade the playbar for arc. What would u guys do ?
The Arc sounds hollow to me in every single instance where you changed the output to the Arc from the Playbar. The Playbar sounds fuller and richer in comparison. I’m using Bose QC35s to listen to this video but I’m sure (I hope) the Arc is much better in person.
Yeah known issue and they’re working on a software fix. Not getting any mainstream coverage unfortunately, but forums are all over it. But bass aside the sound in this video wasn’t great. Oh well, I’ll hear it in person when mine arrives.

it will work fine with standard ARC port. Just lower resolution audio.
Can I get Dolby atmos on my Sony 900f?

Hi guys, I'm a bit confused about the whole arc and earc talk. I have a Sony XBR55A8G that reads Arc but not eArc does this mean that I'm not going to get the most out of the soundbar? I'm guessing I won't be getting the full Dolby Atmos experience?
You should get Dolby Atmos but it will be compressed 5.1 format. If you get a new TV eventually with e Arc, you'll get uncompressed 7.1+. Earc will sound quite a bit better
@@DivineAV I was afraid of that. Thanks for the fast response.
@@DivineAV im confused. a standard Sonos tv set up is 5.1 the Sonos Arc only has 2 upward firing speakers. the Sonos Arc standalone would be 5.0.2 with a sub it would be 5.1.2 with either the ARC or eARC. ( is it still 5.1.2 when you seperate rear speakers such as play ones?) not 7.1 or is this terminology interchangeable? from what i have been able to find is that the Dolby atmos though HDMI ARC is lossy like a MP3 file and TrueHD Atmos is lossless. could you please clarify. Thanks
I have high ceilings...will the sound still reach the ceiling and bounce back to me for atmos with this?
Honestly, not very well. That goes the same with most reflection technique speakers. The directional sound basically disperses and dissipates. It will still create a good soundstage but don't expect too much of an overhead experience. I would do something like a small floor-standing speaker with a more powerful upward firing driver. The higher SPL should give you a better result. Not to mention with an AVR, you could dial in your overhead drivers significantly more than you could with a soundbar. Not as clean of a look if it's a family room environment but the result would be improved. I would say ceiling height of about 10 to 12 ft Max would be ideal for this bar
I have 9 ft ceilings and am left under whelm from atmos tracks. I get more enjoyment from my rears than from atmos.
Can you use a sub from a different manufacturer, ie . Bose , with this soundbar?
Unfortunately its only compatible with the Sonos Sub. Sonos Amp can be used with an external sub and speakers
So I just bought this and love it but have one BIG problem. I get the mounting bar isn't included, but why didn't they throw in the two knobs for the screw holes in the back? I have a universal mount (even more important since their mount is currently on backorder for over a month) but don't know what screws I need. Does anyone know what size/thread pitch the screws are so I don't need to carry this to home depot today to find out?
I'm not sure exactly on the thread size because I haven't tested it out yet. I may have one Sonos Arc mount left in stock. Shoot me an email at divineavinc@gmail
@@DivineAV Thanks...I just took the whole thing to home depot today and got it. It's a metric screw, 5m
Love the old one
Are there any open box arc.
How can I connect the Arc to my existing surround sound system? Would I be able to connect it directly to my Amplifier?
@@TylerTron21 Thank you
Tyler is correct. Some TVs will output Optical and HDMI audio return Channel at the same time. You could test that but you may have to use the lip syncing features within the receiver to try and sync things up. The Soundbar is truly designed to be play it on its own with a TV as a simple solution.
How does the bass of the Arc compare to the Playbase?
The play base is better due to the larger chamber. Not by much.
I have a Playbar and sub that I purchased from Best Buy back in February. Is it really worth upgrading for someone in my position? I mean, is the difference really worth all the hassle and expense? Lol for what it’s worth, I’m still rocking a 720p 43” Samsung plasma that’s almost 10 years old. At some point that will be upgraded, but not just yet. What do you think?
Hey my brother, honestly since you just bought it and your TV doesn't support the highest resolution audio, I would stick with what you got. The Sonos Playbar is an extremely good product. Eventually, you can probably upgrade to a new TV and Sonos Arc and then put the Sonos Playbar and TV in a different area of the house. Thanks for watching, my friend
I still got my playbar
I think the play bar sounds better!!!
What’s the song called playing during the demo?

I have playbar, sub and surrounds. Can I just add arc to system?
You can add the sub and surrounds to the ARC. The Playbar can go in another room and be grouped with the new ARC and surround system
Where can I pick up the Sonos Arch Soundbar at??
Divineavinc@gmail
For the life of me they have an amazing product but with all their innovation "WHY" cant they make a Truplay for Android mobile phones. I have just ordered the works with the ARC ,Sub and sonus One SL
Hi, will the sonos arc intergrate with a samsung qe65q9fn tv ok?
Originally it was not supporting Dolby Atmos but you'll have to call Samsung and ask them if they've provided any software updates for lossy Atmos or will be coming out with a new one connect box that supports the eArc and uncompressed formats
can blueray player play Atmos by tv passthrough to Sonos Arc?
That depends on your TV, make sure that your TV has eArc. It will literally say on the back of the TV near the HDMI port.
Will it be ideal for a large room ?
For Atmos surround, small to medium room ie 13x18ft with flat walls. It will do fine in a larger space for normal music or TV volumes
A Q900r 8k tv Samsung will work ?
How much does the Sonos Arc Dolby ATMOS cost????
