Watching these two guys pickin and yackin at each other really shows just how long they have known each other and how strong their friendship is. What a team.
Seen the video it was amazing and very educational, If I ever need anything for my 05 F250 6.0 Turbo Diesel they would be the one's I will call definitely. Thanks for the link.
What size bolt are you using as the nozzle puller?
I'm sure Area Diesel loves the shout-out at around 1:04:02 when Mike says it's hard "to find anybody with less knowledge" 😂
I noticed that also, had little chuckle when Mike didn’t correct himself!😅
camera nerves @@jerrygoggins5663
You know Mike, you have one of the few channels I will take the time to watch an 1 hour video on and stay interested. Thanks. Keep on smiling.
if you do something like this again put grease in the flutes of the tap it helps capture the filings when cutting the threads
Nice work. You can move dirt really well and you haven't lost any of your mechanic skills. This was a fun watch.
👍👍👍👍👍👍 good class on working a Mack injectors, engine brake
Good job guys, the jake is going to be extremely beneficial for hauling all of the heavy equipment that you deal with, especially if you are moving in less than hot dry conditions. Thumbs up fellas.
Mike when you're explaining how that Jake brake works you can tell that Aaron has no freaking idea what you're talkin about LMAO
Yep, he had the exact same look I had on my face. No freaking clue.
You have to learn to know
@danielcochran1084 Indeed, is MBTS a Diesel Mechanic? Nope! Is MBTS a Welder? Yep! I've been watching DP for a number years and MBTS has come along way as a sidekick for DP.
And that's okay! He is a mighty fine welder though and at least he is going to learn. I'm very mechanically inclined but stop trenching over 40 plus years ago and like empty MBTS, I haven't a clue. Maybe if I watch this another time I might catch the drift
@@billvandorn5332 yeah probably not.. LMFAO jk jk
I’m going to have side with Aaron this time DP.
Direction: forward - back(ward)
Location: front - rear
God bless y’all.
👍🏼👏👏👏 people need to understand that STOPPING, when you NEED to stop, is more important than moving‼️ BTW, NO need to grind shorter the tap. They do make a 'bottoming' tap.
Excellent NO LEAKS. Sounds much better 😊
brilliant work I the lines you did a fabulous job well done you and arron work well cheers Jill Australia 🇦🇺🐨
MBTS's safety chat reminds me of the one I used to tell the guys when doing safety checks on the railroad got the same reaction. great channel!
I do think you secretly enjoy anything that breaks down so you can figure out how to fix it. 👏 👍. Good job
Thankyou for a decent session of DP! Cheers Yaall .
Love to hear that Bulldog growl!!!. Nice work guys. 😎👍
I worked with my dad for 8yrs working at a Mack dealer. I left before they were Volvo’s, but he always told me never want to work on a tough job on Friday cause if you get hurt or sore it screws up the weekend. He mostly did wrecks ( cab swaps) and he or I did most of the Boogie trees and Frame rail replacement which were always fun
You and mbts make work look fun thats not easy to do lol
Mike the boulder wall at the river campground is looking good.
Thanks
Great job to Mike and Aaron!
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
FACTORY!!!!! VERY NICELY DONE, SIR!
Excellent video and education on that engine. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Jake breaks are definitely needed for tractor trailer transporting. Jake breaks come in mechanical, hydraulic and exhaust. They are pucker up relievers that assist in breaking. 😂😂 There’s probably nothing worst for a truck driver than lousing their breaks coming down a mountain looking for a emergency controlled stop exit. It has to be like riding a runaway skate board. A great educational video for the viewers.
Hopefully the jake BRAKE doesn't break
Very good explanation on the Jake brakes
Matt at Diesel Creek gets so tickled when he gets a Diesel engine to start!
Yes his Excitement is precious! Such joy
Considering the state most of his are in when he gets them, I'd say a little 'happy dance' would be in order.
Great video thanks for sharing I’ve seen guys put a little grease on the tap to collect the metal shavings in situations like this just a thought for next time
That “10 min of aggravation” was the funniest banter I have seen on CZcams in a while! Thanks for the laughs!
Great upgrade great job great video thanks Mike and Aron
DP you guys dun good!👍👏👏👏👏👏
Hi DP and AAron, great interesting vid guys! Those pipes still bring a smile to my face.when they start growling! Jerry..UK
Nice work. That certified Mack mechanic comes in handy sometimes. You and Aaron are comedy gold. Jate he wasn't there for the finish. He could've told us how he fixed it!
Aaron is it so wonderful that you are sooooo helpful.
Enjoyable, informative, and funny video. Well done.
Thanks for the hook up with UpState Brush Control. He's loving it. Keep working your magic. Maybe one day Arron when he grows UP he'll be as tall as you.
Well that went well 😅
Eventually a robot will do that for you 😂😂😂😂
The big green Puppy Dog gets some much deserved love and attentionq. I have to say from personal experience it really kinda sucks to drive a truck with weak/non functional Jakes especially if hauling any sort of a load.
What a sound if you put the engine break on.... I hope your neighbors are into heavy machinery as well. It's great to be able to do those jobs yourself and it makes nice educational videos as well.
Good morning sunshine! I love how you explain everything so simple for us to understand & MBTS just looks at you with a blank stare & says yea I got it! Lol! Great video! Much love from Henderson Ga
Lol
A&M comedy team back in action! Have no idea how you get serious work done.
I've got compression brake on my Ram 3500 with the 6.7 Cummins. LOVE that feature. Saves the truck brakes like no get out.
Good job sounds like it's working, love the old Mack trucks drove them many hundreds of thousands miles over the road pulling long combination trailers. The engine break was a pain in the ass bringing loads off mountains. Looks like you have it worked out 👍👍
Think I understood the Jake break more than Aaron but I still love shop videos. I learn so much or understand so much more about you equipment. Loved it laugh a lot just what the doctor ordered
Awesome fabrication job fellas..glad she's working better than ever...would definitely call that a win.😁🇺🇸🔧🚜🛠️😇🚛
It's good to know that I was hearing what I thought I was hearing ( a slight miss ) BTW , that was a countersink and not a counter bore that you were using there .
Oh so were finally going to see the side tipper working. Sweet!
I like to hear Jakes when you jam gears. Nice job DP 👍
Mike and Aaron great video, the way you explained everything was good! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Shop Days are so much fun. Aaron really loves getting under your skin Mike , but it's all in good fun. Mmmmmmm something shiny..... can't wait to see what that is all about. Keep up the good work Mike.
Nice video Mike,Thanks and peace to you and yours…
I'm no Jake brake mechanic, but my understanding is that it basically makes the engine an air pump or compressor. Without the brake engaged and no fuel to the engine, the air in the cylinder is compressed, but then the compressed air helps to push the cylinder back down as it expands, essentially recovering all the energy needed to compress the air. With the Jake brake engaged, the exhaust valve opens, exhausting the energy of the compressed air. Then the cylinder has to re-compress then next stroke again. So instead of the engine recovering the energy needed to compress the air, it is exhausted and all that energy is lost. The engine starts from scratch to compress more air, and slows the engine in the process.
Thank you to the crew @ Area diesel
I love the sound of "jake brake" in the morning!
So glad to see the jake supply hard lined...
Fall coming dark when watching your videos now dang it dark time saving coming to
You guys looked like a couple of surgeons. Great job ! Long live Jake Brakes! Keep on Trucking!
Hi Mike,
Awesome video! I get such a kick out of the joking between Yourself and Man Behind The Scenes"
But on the opposite side, the content of the video, and your detailed explanations of the project that your working on!
And of course a big shout out to Area Diesel!
Alright! The ole Buddha Puppy got some TLC. He's a good old truck. I'm sure many years are still left under his belt with your capable support. Enjoyed! Thanks again for sharing.
Boy O Boy Mike, you and Arron make a pretty good team when you're wrenchin' in the shop.
The comedic banter really makes these shop episodes entertaining.
I've always loved the sound of Semi's gearing up and Jake breaks kicking in.
I onky drove long haul 7 months before my ex made me find a regular job which ended up being a mechanic/technician on Arcade and pinball games, jukeboxes and pool tables and other coin op equipment but I loved those 7 months on the road.
G.I. bill paid for my community college truck driver course.
G.I. OJT my amusement vending training.
Now I wish I'd have gotten into operating excavation equipment.
It's been a long strange trip but I'm now enjoying retirement watching CZcams channels.
You mentioned a couple of them.
That old mack sounds good she's got a good bark. Jack's sounds good to
You've got clearance Clarence.
Put grease on your tap and it catches the shavings.
Excellent, you accomplished your goals. Sounds a lot better & Jake break works at low rpm.
It sounds just right. “Nothing breaks wind like a bulldog”
Your going to need to have Arron spray off the engine with a little bit of diesel gas. Because it won't hurt nothing & it will look much better.
Look out the boys are back in the shop September 12th local time 7:01 AM Tuesday👍NC
I think I saw Aaron’s eyes glaze over in that explanation. Lol
Many ways to skin a cat, I would have run a riser from the filter housing and installed the T above the manifold. Yes requires a new turbo line but so much easier to work with. Just me. Nice job, like the OIT and the hard line under the cover. Thanks for sharing.
Spa day for the Mack👍
100% over my head, but a great and informative video. I have, use and drive diesels, but that's where it all ends. I love to learn and that's why I love this video! Thanks Mike & Aaron! Lee
Nice work, Mike. That sure was a considerable amount of work to get those hoses connected and great work on fabricating the metal pressure tubes or whatever they're called. Jakes now operating superbly and injectors replaced. I'd say that was a very successful day. Full-watch. 👍🏽🤠 9/12/23
I would be concerned with robbing oil to the turbo charger. I guess Mack thought about that - NO WORRIES. Always great videos. Thanks
Man behind the scene, you make a good sidewalk superintendent and equals the good humor man
Looks like an operation table with them covers.
What a nice job on the oil lines. Stay safe
Aaron trying to push your button had me laughing. Mike good job on explaning the process. It is always a joy to watch.
Thats why landrover had a butterfly valve in the air intake on the 2,25 diesel engine. The fuel injection pump and this valve were linked together with the throttle pedal. When driving you lifted the throttle it put vacuum in the inlet. This vacuum also went to the brake booster to assist braking.
Are you sure about the exhaust valve operated? I think leaving that closed would be more effective.
What is used for braking, pressure or vacuum? In both ways this needs to be levelled at tdc or bdc.
In theory:
A: piston going up, pressure on top of the piston brakes the engine. If this pressure stays it will push down the piston on the downward stroke so no braking. So pressure relief at tdc to create vacuum downward?
B: Now its opposite, vacuum down and release at bdc?
Do these jake brake pistons make a gap so the valve stay closed or do they open up only on top of the cam for a short while?
Use grease when taping. The steel will stick better on grease on the die than on oil.
When Chris buys a hyundai you buy a vilvo?
Great job 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 19:17
I really enjoy your repair videos, I learn much. It does look however that Mr. MBTS is going to fall asleep during your explanation of the break system. LOL, he makes your channel. Thank you both.
Thanks
After you do that, that modified one thread that you did. Modify for your break, make threader for your Jake break too. That way, you can throw it with a regular one and then use the modified 1 to finish it up a later on if you ever have to work on another 1.
Love the vid... Noticed Aaron is not been happy being blamed for all the mistakes made around you. Be sure to be thankful for what you got.
Your great work makes for a great video Mike but MBTS makes it hilarious lol The puppy dog sounds happier now for sure
MBS, Avery smart man once told me, " You have to be smarter than the tools you work with. "
Well this sure made for great viewing guys and yes a big thanks to Area Diesel, great result too. Safe travels. Ken.
Revenge is sweet and best served cold …..months of frustration released for you Arron ….you were in charge of the camera and made Mike paid the price !!! Really enjoy you two working together great banter 😆😆😆😆😆
Thank you and have a great day.
Very interesting learning new things that i will not be able to use but I enjoy learning it
It seems that the jake brake is more necessary because of heavier equipment .
Ready to be taught more.
🤓winter time is coming more shop time😉
Great as always sir 👏 👍
Now the puppy is jackeing great watch thanks for sharing koodo’s once again to Areal Diesel they sure give a lot 👍👋🇨🇦
Good bit of engineering there DP.
Great job, guys! Awesome video. Keep um coming!
Area Diesel Service coming to the resue once again - skilled knowledge there. Mack sounds smooth - trust all goes well with it.
I like the Mack even more with all the customizations!! I think you went the best route with the hard lines. My only concern is the fittings into fittings but we'll hear if everything stays dry! :)
I’ve seen Area Diesel Work on several different things. They do amazing work. I think you got the jakes working just fine now. Good job bud.
Hopefully you never have to build another steel line like that again but if you do have Aaron or youself weld two plates together on a 3/4 pipe spaced the same width as the line…if the bottom of the plates are same distance as your first bend..You can terminate the first connection and hook on the plates and bend around the 3/4 plate making the pipe repeatable a thousand times..Very nice of job modifying your Jake’s…they sound great..
4.5K+👍's up DP thank you for sharing 😊
Did the batteries get to you Sir 🤔
Thanks for watching
Now it needs tlc in cab ie bloody good clean
got my coffee lets get er done!
Throwing around those hearts like a participant award 😂
Like where you explain about the Jake brakes. Love the way you and Aaron joke with one another. Thanks for the video
You have made a good job of the DP hope it work fingers crossed 🤞 😊
Most excellent video DP aka(Mike)always makes my day when you an Aaron are having fun with everything you do 👍😎🇺🇸NY
