    Finally! A woodworking video with good music!! (And a great video on making crisp condor tails to boot). Thanks

    Ah, to finally watch a Roubo build video without hideous background music! Great vid, great music.

    Nicely done. I did my tails on my Roubo and while they came out pretty good, they didn't come out as beautiful as yours. I wish I had waited and seen your videos before doing mine.

      Thank you! I got a little lucky, but also took my time and watched several videos before starting.

    This video is a great complement to Jameel Abraham's fine article on condor tails in Popular Woodworking Magazine. Schnekkern follows his method fairly closely. The video can be found at www.popularwoodworking.com/techniques/make-condor-tails/

    Are you applying the glue only to the finished joint at the surface where the endcap is slightly proud, assuming it cappilaries into the joint? or did you apply to the joint before rapping it home with the soft hammer? thanks

      @Schnekkern  Před 3 lety

      I applied glue to the whole joint before putting it together. The extra glue was to swell the joint more and hide the gaps :-)

    I wouldn't keep my plane on the floor for any reasons....lovely job with the dovetail!

      Thanks! Was my plane on the floor? 😳

    Was that epoxy you initially laid over the joint? That’s a great idea to keep from seeing any gap

      G Bez Actually, I just used pva glue. There was a lot of squeeze-out, but I think that helped swell the wood, and made the joint tighter. Epoxy would probably fill the gaps well, but would I am not sure it would have been better.

      Which videos did you find most useful to watch before building this bench. I plan on building one myself!

      Thanks! It is the Festool OF 1400. I don't remember exactly which bit I used, but probably a 1/2" pattern bit (I.e a bit with a ball bearing with the same diameter as the cutting part)
