@@noahx.classic retired refs have talked about it. Not this play specifically, but just the nba in general. It’s an entertainment business and it’s better for the league for bigger fan bases to win. 🤷♀️
This makes me respect CP3 so much for keeping his composure at those 3 stupid fouls called on him. I woulda lost it at the offensive foul when he just got the rebound
That is the rule, it’s stupid tho cuz it’s not always passive aggressive like here with Tatum, but what Lebron does certainly is, typical pandering NBA
The foul at 6:13 is a good call because cp3 kinda jutted in front of jalen which forced him to make contact so that is according to the nba a offensive
No because the person with the ball can have a path. The goal of Chris was to catch Brunson off guard which he did which is a foul on Brunson. In no world should it be on Paul.
@@wermz Players are not allowed anymore to stop in front of a player or change direction anormally during a drive to initiate contact with a defender going in a straight line Plus, we know cp3, that was clearly intentional, and you can't draw fouls like that anymore. Good call on the refs for once
There could have been a weak foul called before the double dribble. But at the level of the nba it is expected they can take that kind of contact. Players and coaches are just so use to bitching about calls for no reason, right or wrong.
I'm looking NBA as a Laker fun from Italy and let me tell you in NBA there is a clear problem on Referee quality. Sorry guys but in Europe the referees are much better. In NBA in same matches there is no contact and they call you foul always, even for the intention, then the next match the players fight each other like warriors and the referee don't whistle anything. This sometimes is happening in the same match, with on referee whistling everything under the board on a side and then on the other side of the court the other referee doesn't whistle anything. It is not easy to look NBA from this perspective as the referees made a clear impact on final results when the match is balanced. In NBA the payers don't know how to defend against 3points as you never know how the referee is going to whistle. Results? Like Luca, many of them when attacking simulate foul play as they know potentially they can get the foul. This is not good quality basket, this is a show.
for the mavs and clippers game, theres some random rule that allows backcourt or something like that; i didnt fully understand it, but i remember there was a really random rule that allowed it
When I was given 2 free throws for a foul called that never happened, I would miss hard and wide to show "I don't want to abide by bogus calls". It takes the fun out of it. Coach would bench me, but it is what it is.
I understand most of the missed calls, the game is so fast. By and large the refs are pretty damn good. But the technicals are just too random. One guy is hit for a facial expression, but some other dude (I'm picturing Draymond, but there are many others) has a mini seizure on every other call & it's no problem.
well during the game we all can see those episodes shown from the best angles almost immediately why can't refs have phone/tablets and see exactly the same thing to make quick and clean decisions?
Many rules in Basketball that make NBA players are not too overpowered. But can they make some kind of rule for the referees so they don't get too overpowered too?
