KC - I am a fan who grew up in Dallas. I was a Cowboys fan until the got Terrell Owen's.
For years, I did not claim to be a fan of any NFL team. I would follow the teams that drafted my former Texas Longhorns.
That brings me to the Chiefs.
I loved the history with Priest Holmes. I loved Jamaal Charles and Derrick Johnson.
I found .myself being invested in the Chiefs. When I found out their history originating in Dallas, I became a Chiefs fan.
With all this being said, the Chiefs should always be THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS!!!

The Chiefs are more likely to move over to Kansas City Kansas than Dallas. Johnson county already offered to pay for their stadium.

The governor of Kansas wants them too. So maybe KC KS. Could be a good option! They wouldn’t have to change their name and the drive is good relatively.

While Dallas is closer to me (easier to attend games) I think the Cowboys have cemented their spot in Texas. I mean there was a reason we moved out. If the vote was for a raise in sales tax, wouldn’t that increase wages paid to hourly employees in the state? (I’m a little dumb)

Big subject. I believe KC is and should remain with the Chiefs. The history showed quiet work with Mayor Bartle and Lamar Hunt for this KC team. Jackson County issued 43 million bond deal to build Arrowhead. In return Johnson County ( better off side of town) gets 43 % of season tickets. Only 25% of season tickets went to Jackson County. Money gravitates to money. Who knows what or where this ends? Since the no vote on tax issue, Chief ownership says it will no longer work with Jackson County. It seems clear a realignment will occur. Kansas City is out. This is a real kick to the guy. To those of us from Jackson County it leaves a hollow feeling. This is what the citizens of Baltimore felt when the Colts moved to Indianapolis. It is what happened in Houston when the Oilers became the Titans. It seems obvious that we will now speak about the Chiefs not the KC Chiefs. This is real. I will cheer for the KC Chiefs to get the three peat. After that it will be single season by single season rooting for the Chiefs. Maybe Clark will take the Chiefs to Texas , Oklahoma, Louisville, Leawood, and get a whole new deal. Clark’s business entity has had a good run in partnership with KC. I hope he well remembers that the partnership was special. The special flavor of midwestern charm is not unlike that of the barbeque. It was unique and helped define the Chiefs team. When they do leave, please don’t expect all of the present day fans to move with the team.

First the taxes will go up. Then ticket sales will go up. Not to mention the private investors are not even paying half. They charge 20 dollars a beer, 15 dollars for nachos. They must really be hurting for money if they need 500M out of the 800M for renovations. I love Rice as a player, and young adults make mistakes, but he has to held accountable. The chiefs should suspend him if not cut him from the roster all together. They did that with Hunt and he got another shot with the Browns. Rice deserves a second chance, but the Chiefs need to hold the players accountable on and off the field.

If there’s any other city in the country that is eligible for two NFL teams right now it’s Dallas or Chicago because of how large the markets area.
Secondly the CEO of the chiefs lives in Dallas and Pat mahomes has a a mansion in suburban Dallas.
And the chiefs used to be the Dallas,Texans long ago.
Dallas also has an extra NFL stadium that’s used for recreational events.
So it’s not a far flung idea

The Johnson county area have long wanted the Chiefs.(B4 CZcams). Chiefs have long been a regional team. They wont move far. Jackson County does what Jackson county does. Stupid stuff. The Royals are a small market, minor league for top tier BB Teams. Most people could actually care less if the Royals leave.

It was public money and excessive support from KC Mayor to get it done. People don’t like new taxes. Bad timing with public. It was Missouri that paid the freight and Kansas folks gobbled up season tickets. Get Trump singing praises of this tax and it might pass. I say this a bit ironically.

Chiefs need a new state of the art stadium period. No Dynasty should be relegated to an old dusty stadium. Negotiate to get out of that 2031 contract and move to another location in Missouri or Kansas. Chiefs are constantly getting terrible ratings for their facilities.
