- The Chinese Take-Out You Can Make at Home - Sweet & Sour Pork | Wok Wednesdays - - Jak na to + styl
Something very wholesome about the idea of using plums in this. Makes me imagine an old chinese sage going out to his plum tree, slicing up some plums, and making some delicious sweet and sour to eat as he sits under a tree and takes in the world in complete serenity
Love that image haha - Chris
when i thought i couldn't love you guys any more, you produce a ketchup-less sweet and sour recipe. heroes
It's amazing! Be sure to try it - Chris
Jeremy... You are awesome. Never cease to amaze me. You take a recipe, break it down into simple components, and then in words we all understand, tell us how to make the dish. Thank you !
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed - Chris
Jeremy is a snack in his own right
Don’t let anyone tell you sweet and sour is “qwailo” or “ang moh” or “westerner” food. I lived in HK for 10 years and Singapore for 15 years and every time I had dinner with Chinese colleagues and ordered sweet and sour, it was always the first dish to be cleared. Singaporeans and Hong Kongers are all wonderful, kind, generous people but they are in denial over sweet and sour.
Wow. What a fantastic sweet and sour sauce, much healthier with the plums and tomatoes, compared to the large amount of sugar, ketchup and vinegar I usually use to make a sweet and sour sauce. I must try that sometime!
What alternative could I use instead of the Hawthorn?
Give it a go! Any fruit roll up works well for this, or a children's condensed fruit bar - Chris
Eating this right now... the sauce is a revelation. Really tastes like in restaurants back when I was a kid.
That's great to hear, thank you for the positive comment. - YOLO
Awesome as always, I LOVE that dish. thank you.
Thank you! Let us know if you try it - Chris
Could you use a fruit roll up (fruit leather) instead of hawthorn?
The fruit snack for kids?
Uncle Roger recommends using chili jam
Absolutely! - Chris

WOW! That looks good!
Give it a go! - Chris
FYI, can you fix the link to the recipe? It ends on the main website now and even looking for sweet and sour yields no result. Do not let this amazing recipe go under!

Biggest weakness for me trying this, I don’t know what to do with the oil after deep frying

Ku lu yuk
Have to playback at 1.5x speed, way too much jibberjabber. This should be a 5-7 min recipe. It’s stir fry!
Yeah, but if you knew content creators get paid double for a video over 10 mins, you would probably say the same X)
