  • Montmorency was once a single, curved and pretty basic platform, but now it couldn't be any more different! The line was duplicated from here to Greensborough, which necessitated the construction of a second platform. My previous video here gives an insight into how they pulled it off, and this video shows you the finished job.

    The pedestrian crossing should’ve been an underpass, all the others are either over/under passes.

    I thought there was not allowed to be any new at grade crossings?
    Also why all the duplication for hurstbridge line, but no plans for upfield, Lilydale, Belgrave or Altona loop

      Perhaps that only applies to road/rail crossings, but not for pedestrian crossings.
      And you're definitely right. The government should really be prioritising duplication projects!

      ​@@melbournerailwayvideosthat's interesting, because I was told it wasn't possible. No connection exists between huntingdale and Oakleigh, unless you walk the 20 minutes between stations to cross the line.

      Maybe they simply changed the rules for this project. They have the numbers in parliament, so they can basically do whatever the hell they want to.
