Queens Way (Melbourne Tram Vlog 10)
Queens Way is a fascinating tram stop in Melbourne's inner south-east. Located in the centre of what feels like a freeway, it is only accessible from one side by a somewhat haphazard staircase. Hope you enjoy the video!

Gardenvale (Melbourne Railway Vlog 222)
zhlédnutí 288Před 21 dnem
Gardenvale is an unfairly maligned station on the Sandringham line. While it does have somewhat uncomfortably narrow platforms, recent modest upgrades have really made a difference in improving the aesthetic of the station. Hope you enjoy the video! Morradoo (Melbourne Railway Vlog 220)
zhlédnutí 473Před měsícem
After nearly a decade, I've finally returned to the Stony Point line! Morradoo is an extremely basic and quiet station towards the terminus of the line. It was formerly just a Rail Motor Stopping Place, but somehow survived closure and made it into the 21st century! Hope you enjoy the video! Narre Warren is yet another station which has recently been rebuilt as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project. While trains have been using the elevated tracks through it for several months, the station itself only opened recently. Apologies about the wind noise in the video. Melbourne's WORST Train Stations | Part 2 (Melbourne Railway Vlog 218)
zhlédnutí 22KPřed 2 měsíci
Melbourne has far too many bad train stations for there to only be one video made about it, so here's part 2! These are the 20th to 11th worst train stations in Melbourne, in my opinion at least. Factors considered include aesthetic, safety, and useability. I excluded V\line stations, Stony Point line stations, Flemington Racecourse line stations, and stations currently being upgraded. Let me k...

Longwarry (Victorian Railway Vlog 33)
zhlédnutí 756Před 3 měsíci
Longwarry is a Gippsland line station which is currently in the midst of an upgrade. It has already had its second platform built, but it is awaiting the completion of the second track, which might not be done until June, despite there being very little work left to do! A Trip on the Bellarine Railway (Victorian Railway Vlog 32)
zhlédnutí 642Před 3 měsíci
The Bellarine Railway is a short heritage railway line southeast of Geelong. It runs along a very scenic section of the former Queenscliff line, although it was converted to narrow gauge to utilise rolling stock from Tasmania and Queensland, which was available at the time of its creation. I had a great time on the railway, and I hope you enjoy my vlog of the trip too! Check out Reuben Silveira...

True fact. I hunted and caught one of those elephants that are now painted pink and stuck on the roof of the Windsor Castle hotel. It’s actually an Asian elephant that I got in Thailand. The other one is an African elephant from Tanzania or something.
I lived near ruthven for 5 years and it takes thus long just for an upgrade?
Tottenham station is as spursy as Tottenham the club lol😂
The bit of road that stop is on really is called Queens Way, from St Kilda Junction where Queens Road runs underneath St Kilda Road, until the intersection with Chapel Street where it becomes Dandenong Road.
Maybe the sand is more evident because no other vehicles are dispersing it as they would on a normal roadway..?
They clean this spot less
Wow, those are indeed horrid.
Great video thanks for sharing
Gives me america vibes
Hahaha yeah. It must be all the road infrastructure.
Those platforms look very narrow.
They certainly felt that way too!
Love your content, great job. My son and couple of his mates are coming over to Melbourne shortly for a weekend of chasing trains and exploring anything railways. It seems you would be the guy to show them the best places to video. I have shared your site with him so he will be touch. He also does rail videos on youtube www.youtube.com/@tommymortimer8026
Boronia is dodgy asf. Notice there's not much graffiti? They could "beautify the trench with murals? *shrugs*
i have an issue with craigieburn, solely because it took me 90 secs to reach p2 from p1. add a footbridge or something? also general motors. it hardly sees any trains stop there and the structure is old and unusable
It deserved a -10 out of 10.
Doncaster, is pitiful. Oh wait we don’t have one. 🇦🇺👎🍺
I feel like Officer station should get a position in the 3rd or 4th list. It has no public transport nearby aside from the very infrequent 926 bus, there are some businesses nearby but if you're going to them, you'll have to walk down Station street, along Bridge road and up Siding avenue just to get to them. If they allowed better access to those shops via a second entrance, it would definitely be improved.
Even Perth has trains to connect airport, what the 'help' does VIC do?
Electric Tilt trains between Brisbane & Rockhampton started in 1998 & the record of 210km/hour during testing maybe still the fastest in Australia. Mel & Syd have more people than Brisbane but what did VIC do to update the rail network?
Top 10 worst stations Broadmeadows Craigieburn Coolaroo The end
The worst are not the stations, is the rail network in VIC. QLD has the largest electrified rail network in Australia. Decades earlier, all suburban passenger trains in SE QLD became electric & now electric tilt trains service as far as Rockhampton. Diesel V Lines still live in the last century.
VIC is the slowest Australian State on the East Coast to electrify the rail network. Instead, VIC banned new residential dwellings to use gas.
I don't see why the two are related. Banning residential dwelling from using gas was an excellent move given the climate crisis!
@@melbournerailwayvideos 2 are related because this is the proof of double standard. VIC does not ban their own diesel trains which I think the emission standards are lower than Euro 3 buses.
VIC loves to force individuals to invest for new change but Melbourne is the ONLY Australian East Coast capital city that does not have any train line from the airport.
Diesel trains emit lots of smoke due to incomplete combustion but gas clearly not that bad.
ABC disclosed the air quality of Southern Cross Station. VIC loves diesel trains. How can Melbourne surpass Sydney or Brisbane in terms of trains.
Southern Cross Station must the the worst Station in Australia. It has the poorest air quality with biggest single shelter. Lots of diesel trains drive into CBD, sit & wait with smoky engines ON! Sydney & Brisbane are not like that.
As someone who's severely afraid of heights I unfortunately have problems with a lot of train stations but oh my god Flemington Bridge... Full panic attack every time I used it (ironically it was the easiest way to get to therapy when i lived in the area). Skyrail before they figured out how to build skyrail. Just shifting your ordinary dodge inner suburban station 10m up and hoping for the best.
How the heck is Watergardens not on the list... Place is a freezing wind tunnel...with nowhere to hide
I don't understand why Arden street station has such a big above ground footprint.
I'd say it's probably just cost savings. Why put all those shops underground, when you can put them at ground for much less?
@@melbournerailwayvideos I feel like a bike / walk path or road over the top and shops in taller buildings to the side would be a more effective use of space.
I agree. I do think they will adding lots of tall buildings to the side, though, with the Arden development plan.
Thanks for the video. Very informative 😊
Glad you liked it!
2:35 Yeah, my favourite, Africa station!
Would be nice if they widened it a little for people in wheelchairs
Indeed. It's pretty narrow, and difficult to get to the first carriage where they're supposed to board!
Brighton Toyota is actually in Elsternwick, Gardenvale is in Brighton as you said, the suburb Gardenvale is on the other side of the highway with only 1000 residents in 2021 census, brighton is the bayside. Gardenvale is actually quiet interesting as the cost of building the station was funded entirely by the local residents. I am not sure on how this line was built but must have been interesting how it was pre nepean hwy becoming the stroad that it is. I wonder why its narrow as it was only built for 3 cars and cheaply extended for 6 car trains.
Ohh right. That is interesting that the locals funded the station. There's no way that would be affordable these days, even for the residents of Brighton!
"even Ange Postecoglou would struggle to fix this joint" lmfaoooo
I'm glad someone got it!
would be good for me to do some spotting and riding on other lines (other than craigieburn)
Flinders street is alright but it really needs a lot of maintenance and cleaning.
I grew up using Boronira Station through high-school and university. I can still smell the pee. 2nd place! I'm so proud! 👏
Hahahaha. What fond memories!
That corrugated iron is to stop gronks dropping things, and each other, onto moving trains.
Very true
I have seen altandi railway station neat and clean
Iam about to come again brisbane I must enjoy railway from altandi
Hope you have a great trip!
@@melbournerailwayvideos thank you very much
its a very interesting video i lived in melbourne for two years three years ago .during the renovation train line railway they did a really god job its fantastic im very very happy its a modern and cutting edge city 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😇😇😇😇😇
Boronia is very green & quite pretty with the mountain views, but yeah some unsavoury types/druggos around. my brother lives near the roundabout, he always has stories about the crazy stuff going on. drug houses, housing commission in the area too
ITS LAY-LOR!!!
I've always like Ripponlea station, and the Orthodox Jewish community in that neighbourhood really gives the whole place an interesting and unique vibe
I'd be really interested in seeing an updated video reviewing the second platform, bus shelters and new amenities when the station reopens end of June!
It appears the upgrades to the station are complete and the second track is in use!
I'm definitely planning on heading down there again. Stay tuned!
sandringham cant really cope with 10 minute services as it has no turn back points and only 1 platform at sandrigham, somthing needs to be done but everyone is kind of blaming everyone else. Ripponlea is possibly the easiest to add a third platform given the lack of space at the others, other than perhaps reusing brighton beach but that is a bit too far down the line. I am also SHOCKED at your lack of mention of the LACK OF SHELTER, when it is sunny here there is about 4 seats that are covered, you have ripped into other stations with far more shelter. I am deeply disappointed in your inconsistency.
Yeah I got wooed by all the beautiful gardens, so I definitely didn't give the lack of shelter adequate consideration. At least there is a decent amount of space in the waiting rooms on both platforms. They could definitely add one more shelter on each side of the platform though!
@@melbournerailwayvideosyou should do Pakenham East for your next video station 222 clog 222
I'm definitely planning on getting down there soon after opening, but I probably won't be able to get there within the first week or two because of uni commitments.
This used to be my local station. I missed the train at least once as I was not quick enough to cross over that bridge. Ripponlea house is amazing. It features in Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. If you live in the City of Glen Eira you used to be able to get a card that allowed you to visit the gardens for free.
Ripponlea House and Gardens are on Hotham St and open every day. Well worth a visit
my former home station, brings back memories 🥺
Ripponlea Mansion is well and truly extant, owned and run by the National Trust! Also the home of ABC TV Melbourne studios within the same grounds.
ABC no longer there, shutdown and sold a few years ago. Riddled with asbestos demolition started a couple of months ago. (I drive down Gordon St a few times a week)
A gorgeous station. My favourite on the network 👍
Yooo you got me on video😂
Ayyyyyy I'm glad you found it!
Did you notice that there are no line signal lamps at Tecoma? Is that common?
Kanny mentioned!!!! To this day, Kananook's main stated purpose is "skip the franga barriers" lol
Hahaha that's gold!
The Macauley Rd bridge next to Macauley station has the narrowest bike lane in not just Melbourne but the world,!!!!!!!!!
