  • So I’m really making this video for the people that are having trouble with their BMWs or Audi’s or any foreign car really. This video will help you save a lot of money because you will be able to fix your own car now also if your car doesn’t start but it has power then it’s probably not your battery check your alternator. Also if your car keeps dying I suggest you just take the blow to the mouth and buy a new battery because the more you jumpstart your car you are risking to fry a module or kill your alternator which then everything will be even more expensive if you have any questions leave a comment down below or you can reach me on Instagram or Snapchat.

You don't need Autozone. You can easily check your battery with a multimeter. Also you need to register your new battery even if it has the same exact rating specs as your old. You have to do this so that the DME knows this is a new battery and won't overcharge it.

Alvarez, just to give you a heads up and to all your subscribers. BMW cars have a big load on the batteries, you must keep the battery charged especially if you don't drive it often or drive long distances. Best way to do this is to purchase a trickle charger to keep it maintained a little over 12 volts, you need a cheap voltmeter to check this. I have a 128I convertible and with this clapped up virus and quarantine, I haven't driven it for a while. Yesterday, I went to start it and the battery was completely dead, I didn't know why, the battery is almost 2 yrs old and I live in Florida so I don't have the cold weather to contend with. Fortunately I have a battery charger so I charged it back up, and then I did some research and found what I am saying here. I hope this helps someone out there. I enjoyed this video. FYI. You do need to register the battery after installation.

I figured if thats the case, then as soon as I turn off the car, There won't be enough juice to get it going again. Sure enough, thats just what happened. Some new batteries are faulty from day one and will not last as long as the same battery next to it on the shelf. After 10 days I luckily thought to test it at pep boys while there only had 183cca. Exchanged it and next one had correct amount of cca, over 900cca.

You don’t have to unless your car requires it like the new ones. But most 2015 and down are ok with just replacing it. Id suggest though you eventually just take it to Bmw or who ever and have them program it. Butif you get the exact one for your car you should be fine to just swap it out. What’s going to happen is when you take out the old battery your car will lose its memory setting like your saved radio station and saved seat setting and Bluetooth. If you don’t mind just setting everything up again just do that.

The reason negative comes off first is: If you put a wrench on the + and the wrench touches some metal, you’re going to short 12V to ground and BAM!!! So loosen AND remove the negative connection, and then it’s safe to loosen the positive, even if your wrench accidentally touches metal.
