  • This is my 2011 Honda fit that I have been working on turning into a small traveling camper. I built a platform bed and bought a foldable mattress online and so far everything is turning out good. Won’t be going on a road trip for another couple weeks. Trying to find tune everything.
If you guys are car camping yourselves please subscribe. Thanks

I bought a Fit last year with the idea of camping. You've done a good job. Are insects or animals able to get through any gap between the tent and the car? And where do you get those window coverings? Thanks

Can you provide a link to the tent you used? I’m looking for one just like that.

That looks awesome! My mom has a Honda Fit. Do you have an Amazon link to the tent? She is trying to find one that would work with her car. Most seem to be made for bigger vehicles.

pleeze excuse me if this is dumb BUT how to you keep hatch open without draining battery? I want to do this as I also own a honda fit and love it so much.

Ran into the same issue and thought about just taking the bulb out the little light in the back. That might already fix it. Didn't try it yet thow

Trigger the latch so that the car thinks the hatch is closed. Then, when you’re ready to close it, pull the handle like you’re opening it, and the latch will reset so you can close it.

@@BeccaTheBoring how do I trigger the latch? At the handle on the hatchback? Or at the part that is connected to the car? Thank you 😊 💓

@@michellelaclair no, the little claw looking part, usually one at the bottom of the door, or one on each side. Use a screw driver to push up on the finger to “close” it. There are sensors in the door which will read that as “door is closed.” The, to open the little finger again so you can actually close it, pull on the handle. There are videos here on CZcams which show you how to do this.

Where's your spare tire for plan B when you're in the middle of nowhere with a flat?

I would highly recommend getting new good bran tires in that case. I have a 16 CRV which I also remove the spare tire but I have bran new tires with almost yrs yrs of life left..

@@youaskedforit7973 Bran tires don'r sound too practical. Any particular brand that may be good though?
