      I liked how both Shannon and Lil Wayne were able to both clearly state their views with respect. Racism is a touchy subject no matter where you stand. If you talk about it, you risk pushing people away; if you don't, you risk not bringing truth and light into a situation.

    As a black man I love hearing this… I have NEVER ever dealt with Racism IN MY LIFE! Some of the closest friends/brothers I have in this life and the next are white… and you couldn’t tell any of us that we aren’t family. I have never been treated differently by any of their family members if anything they have treated me as one of their own. I’ve been privileged enough to go to private schools and colleges and I can tell you my blackness has never precluded me from doing ANYTHING that I put my mind too! Blaming racism is so much easier than blaming yourself for being unable to have a vision and chase it. All love! And I hope all that read this have a blessed day!

      These guys outworked all their competitors.
      That being said, there is a slight element of luck that they did not receive any injuries that would had ruined their careers. Just because you are a certain color or sexuality, you MUST feel this way or that way....and if you express a different opinion thats contrary to the largely held view of your particular race/creed/sexual preference etc. you will be told durectly or indirectly that you are wrong.

      Lil Wayne has said in so many of his songs that he's experienced racism. Like in his songs "Georgia", "Hollywood Divorce" and "Misunderstood". In order to discuss racism it's necessary to acknowledge that it may exist beyond your own interpersonal relations and that's what the other black guy is trying to say. Just because you don't see it, don't automatically think that those that do see it, are lying.

      +Bob Virtually no one living today contends that racism exists. The question is whether or not it is as prevalent as so many are willing to make it seem. When you assert that racism not only exists but it is *systematic* and *enforced* in a top-bottom system, you're going to need concrete evidence, not basic anecdotes and race-baiting in substitution of actual arguments.

I love Lil W, he not only stuck to his opinion, but 1. He confirmed he grew up in a situation as bas as it gets 2. He gives specific examples against this narrative! *where he grew up. *Shot himself v young, white cops ran in, more concerned a lil kid was shot & saved him *Confirmed how can there be racism when a guy like him, where he came from, became so successful? “Half my fans are white, love me, & made me successful “? He’s never seen it & he wasn’t always famous! I don’t see or know why there’s a color, to him he is successful in and as an American!!!!

      it’s called prejudice most of the time not racist. All people have been pre judged because who they are or appear to be! Everyone has dealt w experiences of it, including me... I experienced a different race picked over me plenty of times, from HS FB , being a coach, being overlooked,not picked on a team, etc....... Someone said it, it’s not always about color it’s about who we are & what we do! He grew up just as rough as anyone, he did something about it he says....

      @cwdrock Před 3 lety +2

      I don't say I don't see color, of course I do. However it is not something I factor in when assessing my first impression of a person. The reason why is that every race is labeled with stereotypes and knowing that every individual is unique puts thier racial makeup at the bottom of the list in terms of the criteria I use for assessing another human being.
