    Who needs a jack hammer when you've got Ben on the job! Nice work.

      Its not bad in small doses but a 14lb sledge does take some getting used to!

    Interesting video, Ben. If you feel inspired to make a video of it, I’d enjoy watching you install the new floor.

    you can't waste money on some good old hand tools haha but I definatly did on machines.
    If your shovel ever brakes on these stones, you may take a look at bavarian shovels. They are pretty much forged like 100 years ago, real honest steel haha. pretty flat though.
    btw, thanks for recommending billhooks, got one from Krumpholz "schweizer Gertel" and it is such a great tool for brush control.

      The shovel is a pretty good one, from Richard Carters nearly 300 years old English maker. I also like German shovels, I have used a family members and they good.

    Nice work man. Are you going to mill the floor boards yourself?

    Sure those tools work just fine over there, but the concrete is much harder over here.

      concrete is the same everywhere its the qaulity of work that matters. This was an old cowboy cheap pour which is the reason im removing it. Origional Portland Cement was invented in the UK

    Ben I have a question to ask that is out of context of this video
    How a basque axe(no poll) compare to a traditional American axe(with poll) in terms of balance and accuracy in horizontal cuts(felling) . please answer and if you have a video on this topic please say title of the video I'll watch it ❤

    • @benscottwoodchopper
      @benscottwoodchopper  Před rokem +1

      I filmed quite a bit of chopping in slow motion with a polled axe versus no polled with oval or flat sided handle and a completely round handle. Left the video long for evidence but essentially poll makes no difference really and handle shape matters more czcams.com/video/oGDxCHjuMWk/video.html

    Why destroy good floor?

    • @benscottwoodchopper
      @benscottwoodchopper  Před rokem +1

      I wouldn't call 1" thick in lots of places, already cracked and no insulation or vapour barrier a good floor
