you can't waste money on some good old hand tools haha but I definatly did on machines. If your shovel ever brakes on these stones, you may take a look at bavarian shovels. They are pretty much forged like 100 years ago, real honest steel haha. pretty flat though. btw, thanks for recommending billhooks, got one from Krumpholz "schweizer Gertel" and it is such a great tool for brush control.
The shovel is a pretty good one, from Richard Carters nearly 300 years old English maker. I also like German shovels, I have used a family members and they good.
concrete is the same everywhere its the qaulity of work that matters. This was an old cowboy cheap pour which is the reason im removing it. Origional Portland Cement was invented in the UK
Ben I have a question to ask that is out of context of this video How a basque axe(no poll) compare to a traditional American axe(with poll) in terms of balance and accuracy in horizontal cuts(felling) . please answer and if you have a video on this topic please say title of the video I'll watch it ❤
I filmed quite a bit of chopping in slow motion with a polled axe versus no polled with oval or flat sided handle and a completely round handle. Left the video long for evidence but essentially poll makes no difference really and handle shape matters more czcams.com/video/oGDxCHjuMWk/video.html
Who needs a jack hammer when you've got Ben on the job! Nice work.
Its not bad in small doses but a 14lb sledge does take some getting used to!
Good work! 💪
Very satisfying watching you tear through that stuff. 💪
Ben, the human wrecking ball!
Nothing like a good old sledge hammer video!!! Also I like your FSS shovel
Actually an irish pattern shovel, very similar to fss though
Interesting video, Ben. If you feel inspired to make a video of it, I’d enjoy watching you install the new floor.
Good honest work.

Hi Ben would like to see what your renovating perhaps a walk around tour.
That’s gist of it. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Great!
those cosco dollies are bad ass
Very handy, i agree
Gotta love demo work! Was there no rebar in that concrete?
None at all
@@benscottwoodchopper nice!
Looks pretty old probably before steel reinforcement.
Nice work man. Are you going to mill the floor boards yourself?
we are going to put in a new insulated concrete floor with underfloor heating
แข็งแรงมากๆเลยจ้า
Sure those tools work just fine over there, but the concrete is much harder over here.

@@benscottwoodchopper thanks that helps a lot
Why destroy good floor?
I wouldn't call 1" thick in lots of places, already cracked and no insulation or vapour barrier a good floor
