    Every farm, any farm, all farms large and small anywhere on this planet produces food. That is the essence of farming. Farms feed and it is as simple as that!! Love how you, Adrian, farmer P, and all other farmers on youtube educate as to how difficult it can be but how rewarding it is. Keep it up farmers please. I'm hungry daily.

    Old building rubble is the job for soft spots, concrete blocks and the like. It’s cheap/free and you can dig out as big of hole as you like and horse it in. Acts as soak away then too, old yard concrete is also a great job for making a base

    You could have a spring in that corner water boiling up stick a length of land drainage pipe out towards the pond alongside the 4-inch waste pipes
    water running down from the house side could be doing a job on it either

    Well done, Farmer Phil, on uncovering potential sites that were left abandoned and utilising what raw materials that are in abundance around the farm in solving parking issues for your farm machinery. Gives a good feel factor of dedication to looking after your business on a day to day basis. 👏😊👏

    We early this year coated our yard with stone chips, bigger than chips without the dust so the water can drain away through the stone. The dust was holding the water and pot holes were appearing so this year was a great test and no puddles yet.

    Good stuff Phil, getting a gutter put up on shed will help dry the yard up but if you’re planning to alter it all further down the line probably not worth it for now. Worth keeping farm parking separate from customer parking when the shop get’s built. The two don’t mix. Keep pushing on, some big development plans ahead 👍

  • @declanfarmerjoyce7639
    @declanfarmerjoyce7639 Před 10 měsíci

    Well ware on the newest parking area Phil.👍
    You never have enough parking space around a farm yard. Especially when there's a contrasting business involved aswell. Earlier in the year, when you did the video abouts improvements on the farm. I thought to myself that ye might be better to build a new shed for grain or the likes at the other end of the yard. So you can get an artic in to unload or even for ye to load it yereselves, if ye ever sell grain. As you never know when another year like 2016 will happen again. As much as you don't it to happen either. Have it big enough to do the drying in it & the likes aswell. I'd used site of ye're grain shed now as your work shop & parking area. As you'll have access to both side. Going by your plans in the video you could be better off building a completely new A roof shed, not a leantwo shed. Also think about a new roadway into the new parking area & the farm yard. As hopefully when the next generation comes along. It'd leave the area around the house alot safer for them. Ye don't need to do it ASAP. Ye could plant it & mark it out before ye start the new shop. Nothing's cheap to do, the sooner you can do it, the better & cheaper it'll be in the long run.
    Good luck with it all anyway's. 👍

    Your Grain should be stored in an Aerated Bin - not an open shed. Build a Bin and you will free up alot of shed space.

    • @paullynch277
      @paullynch277 Před 10 měsíci +2

      @@walterhartwellwhite402 they already have a grain bin that is not in use. Far cheaper for them to pour a new concrete foundation and replace the lower ring and add aeration, than to start building bays of new shed.....
      More importantly, a bin will keep the rats out of the grain....the grain which is being fed to the cattle - that are destined for human consumption.

    Great job Phil and crew. You'll definitely have no shortage of parking space out the back now.
    When you are talking about putting up a mass concrete wall, would you think about increasing the height of the overall shed that is already there. Like if you near matched it to the height of the half round roof shed beside it and give it a bit of a run off, it would give you the extra ceiling height for the new lean to sheds.
    Well just a thought. Best of luck

Only one piece of advice, build it high enough for the trailers to tip when you do get around to building it. Are there any grants available for farm buildings in southern Ireland?
