- The simplest method to make some really cool modern apple boxes for your photography studio. My boxes are a little different than traditional apple boxes in a few ways. First of all, they are not enclosed on all six sides. They have an open side which is easy to face away from the camera in portraits. This also makes them lighter weight and functional as storage in my studio and I can use them to carry things on location. I only cut a hand-hold on one side so I could keep the opposite end solid. This creates a smooth modern look in my portraits while also having an easy way to move them around.

As my disclaimer, I do not pretend to be a professional carpenter and I know there are probably far more accurate and detailed ways to make these. But if you’d like to make some cool boxes for your studio that are simple, affordable, and don’t require a lot of specialized tools then this is the video for you! - Jak na to + styl
I so much enjoy watching Nicole, she’s as a very very fluent ascent in explaining stuffs.

This is good. I was going to make some apple boxes but I was not convinced that the standard dimension would work best; plus I was not crazy about the wasted space inside since I do

Hi Roger! Thank you :)
Great video! Do you have a video of your self portrait branding shoot? I’d love to see you lighting set up for that.😊
No, not yet. But I should make a video showing that lighting :)
Helpful video. What is the source of those marks at 7:02 ?
Fantastic DIY video from a photographer's POV, too! Can you estimate how much it the total cost would have been if you hadn't had some materials on hand?
Thank you Ginger! :) For the wood, screws, paint, and poly finish, they come out to about $50 each.
Hi Nicole, great contents and very informative. Thank you so much for sharing. I always wanted to build my own apple box since they are quite costly. You definitely have inspired me. You are multi talented dear. Keep up the great work!!!!:)
Awe...thank you Nasroullah for sharing this with me! I'm so glad you liked my video! Yes, you definitely need to try making your own :)
Which wood shop did you use for cutting the plywood?
Hi Martin, a friend of mine has a shop in his garage who let me use his equipment :)
U the best darling
Awe...thank you so much for the feedback!! :)
DIY if you have access to a wood shop
Or you have a saw and a jig
You can have them cut them at the hardware store. Lowe’s and Home Depot will cut the sheets for you.
