Good showing! I can already see your style of tech at play at certain points. I do like that her b 1+2 knocks down on CH that was a surprise when I did it in practice. Oddly its still -17 on block inspite of being +3 on hit now. I'm still feeling Zafina out in this game a bit but havent had alot of time to get real deep with her yet. Did a brief stream on my channel earlier. I got to stop playing Tekken 7 with her lol. I def took some notes from this though.
Listen….. she’s definitely nerfed. Terribly. Her nuetral is abysmal and you have to hurt yourself to protect yourself. Scarecrow 2,1 for example gets u safely out of scarecrow but it takes life. However… Zafina benefits from the heat system because of her pressure. Despite her nerfs she can be plus whenever the hell she wants and the aggressive nature of this game suits her best moves. Her backdash is very inconsistent sometimes she’s able to backdash out if things she always could and the next she can’t backdash and feels the movement need like everyone else. She’s overall nerfed, but her okizemi got buffed tremendously.
Yeah she suffered alot of universal nerfs and probably more than others coming from T7. Managing that health loss stuff with her Azazel df1 stance attacks is the tricky part for me right now but they feel so good to do I forget I need to be going in heat more to take best advantage of them since its no health lost then and they become powercrushes. Her mantis df1 is +6 on block!!! I def need to blend that in more like you were doing. I think they kind of had to go this more visceral route with her having these new Azazel attacks to fit the aggreesive nature of this game. They make the concept of heat make more sense than others with her. Her movement is hit or miss alot like you said but still decent but sidesteps are strong in this game and she always been good at that. It's going to be a fun unique journey with her this time around.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use Zafina's claw attacks properly. So far, her MNT df 1 seems to be the most useful because its a ground hitting mid that's +6 on block, which is great for oki.

I understand your sentiments. There are moments of shine in the game play where we focus on tekken fundamentals and other times… interesting…..because all of your fundamentals can’t stop the 50/50’s. I just got to garyu just to test my skills and… it was fun sometimes and then it got concerning real quick…it started with devil jin.
