7.2 seconds is not bad at all. That's only a few tenths slower than my modern 5.0L Coyote F-150 "granted my trucks curb weight 1500lbs more than this one, but still not a bad time at all, that's about on part with the first gen Ford Lightnings.

Greatly appreciate your content! I have a 1994 f150 302 but I just can’t find myself spending money on it since it’s a long bed. I bought it as my first truck but I just really want to get a short bed one so I can mod it similar to what you did.

Maybe you’ll find a good short bed sometime soon. Keep the long bed and you’ll have a good cruiser and also a hotrod truck too.

Gotta love an old 302. Definitely not fast by modern day standards but that Windsor sound is priceless.

What's the 13 degree timing adjustment? You adjusting the cam?

I’m referring to bumping the timing at the distributor. The stock initial timing is 10°. A 3° bump helps throttle response and might gain a number or two. You can research more by looking up a 6liter tune up on a 302.
