Season 9 Episode 13: Trading Places
Outro: Frog Swamp - Amber Waldron - Zábava
“I don’t understand why you’re such a freaking martyr all the time” so real
Donna said it best. "I'm a mother. We're never as busy as we say we are."
@@GetYourChicken17I mean, being a mother and having to work is hell. But being mother and a housewife? Ridiculously easy
@yurilouback6331 I wouldn't know. I'm a male with no intention of becoming a parent.
When Lois does laundry she waits with it to finish.
To be fair Peter has WRECKED the house in the past
The "I did it in like an hour (....) it's a house, it's a finite area. I'm not cleaning a town." Really stuck with me, especially when i moved out in my own.
The mindset matters.
You want to clean the house, clean it
I get it when I lived with my mom as a kid cleaning the house took all day and the whole family at my apartment it takes and hour or 2.
This is so true people act like it takes a long time but max amount of time it takes to clean a house is like hour, hour and a half
@@RealXylon I think having a balance works too, not every part of the house needs cleaning on the daily, you think a laundry nook sees a lot of "looks like a tornado went through it" action? I sure don't, do people eat bowfuls of snacks and watch the academy awards in a dedicated home office? Not likely.
I need to tell my dishwasher that line
I always like when Stewie is on Meg’s side. Wish they did it more often.
While I agree that it’s nice I honestly think it’s more the fact that they are judging something so hard without giving it a chance that bothers him rather than it being Meg they are judging.
@@mihaimercenarul7467 You didn’t even try.
@@mihaimercenarul7467 ironic how you're saying they're taking it too seriously despite it being a simple "I like this and wish they did more of this" sentence....
@@laundrewashington3734 because he hates seeing meg being made fun în a comedy show. So he Wants To see more positivity and love în a dark comedy show. So where is the irony, again?
@@mihaimercenarul7467 the person simply said they liked seeing Meg get more wins every now and then (hell it doesn't even have to be in a "positive" way if you desperately feel that takes away from the dark comedy too much).
And I say it's ironic because you're taking it so seriously to projecting this whole snowflake narrative from a simple "I like this" comment. Just because I simply say I like waffles doesn't mean I have a strong political level narrative on how I love waffles more than life itself does it?
Lois and Peter act like idiots already so it's no surprise Meg knows how to behave like an adult right away
Chris got his part right too.
They don't act like idiots, they are idiots
Chris and Meg would be a better parent than Peter and Lois if they both have balls big enough to cut off and live by themselves. Chris a bit slow, but he’s a decent worker and probably the same as early Peter - goofy, laidback and caring. Meg, well let’s put in this way: whoever have one hell of an appetite and not so picky in shagging someone would hit a motherlode of jackpot marry Meg
@@CCJ243until he got depressed and mad and got a heart attack due to overworking himself
@@SkylarThompson-mu1qs even before that, he did much better than peter to where he replaced peter to his job.
Lois' upperclass upbringing is showing. She actually thinks cooking and cleaning is hard because she only learned how as an adult. Meg's been doing it all her life, and knows how to be very efficient.
She also doesn't have the impulse for everything to be perfect that Lois's upbringing instilled in her- this is where that "if the baseboards aren't scrubbed then don't even bother because you suck" attitude comes from. The house probably wasn't SPOTLESS, but all the major things that need doing every day were probably done.
I legit forgot Lois came from a rich family. That explains everything😮
right. growing up, lois probably had all the housemaids and butlers do all the work for her
Also Meg just might enjoy cooking and have time to do it you can make pretty awesome stuff
Whenever Meg is given a chance to do something, she’s always great at it. Lois and Peter probably clown on her because they know that she’s better than them, and they can’t stand it.
Or maybe because it's a comedy show and you Take it too seriously. That's the gimmick, kiddo.

Nice to see Stewie being protective of Meg.
In his defense, the parents were just dissing her before even knowing what to expect from her. I mean, how would they like it?
@@cyberlord1922 Exactly. He was giving her the benefit of doubt.
He’s usually the most supportive, though I realize that’s a relative statement
0:53 She's right y'know. There's "working smarter" and then there's "working harder"
(I doubt it takes just one hour to do ALL of the housework, but still)
Well you don't have to do everything everyday.
@@ano_nym Part of my original point but yes
Take cleaning the shower, for example. I have been told that it isn't a daily chore, but more like a once a week to once a month sort of chore
I mean Meg is younger and more energetic. Plus there probably wasn't that much of a mess, Lois does have a habit of making things look worse than it is.
@@alpha5664 Not only that but what house chores exactly needs to be done? If it every chore a house needs to get done then yeah it's gonna take all day, but for chores done everyday the most I'd think of is washing dishes, organize, sweep/dust, and maybe get one load of laundry done for one of the family members.
The untouched bombshell here is that Lois is so terrible at cleaning (an act that should take 4 hours at most (over the course of an entire week, if I am being exceedingly generous) that it occupies her whole week and takes her attention off of child care, meal prep, and any hobbies she could taken up, given her privileged position as a white stay-at-home mom who it can be seen puts her youngest kid in pre-K, if she wasn't such a terrible mother and horrific housekeeper
Stewie saying "give her a fucking chance"is kinda like when he was defending her from quagmire "Stay away from my sister😡"
Pretty sure the line you're thinking of is Stewie talking to Herbert about Chris, not Quagmire about Meg
@@Galimeer5read the original comment again, then reread your own comment. Slowly
Lois surprised by Meg being able to have time to cook shows how much of a mess Peter probably makes on a regular basis due to his shenanigans.
Tbf Peter wasn’t at home during this time because he was at school so Peter was pulling his shit at the school instead of home most of the day! Tho I do think Meg is clearly really talented and hardworking to do Lois’ job so easily
@@helenlibby751 Megs grows to fill all her roles, whether it be housewife or convict.
@@DKNguyen3.1415true Meg’s my favorite by far
Actually Peter has to go to work and spends most of his time out so his shenanigans doesn't always affect Lois. Lois is just horrible at doing chores.
Bueno chicos Lois no era precisamente una chica comun recuerden que es hija de una familia de clase alta probablemente no tuvo que hacer quehaceres hasta que se casó con peter probablemente no son tan duros pero para ella lo son
Pd: saludos desde latam
The line “I had all day to do it” was the most savage roast in this entire scene, in my opinion

Damn Stewie
He took the words right out of my mouth!
He's right though.
Yeah I agree with those words. Like who hate's meg that much I never hated meg to begin with I felt sorry for her pain she got for no reason
Stewie and Brian are the only family thay cared for Meg. Chris sometimes bullied her, but he at the same time, he loves Meg and will help her when she needed it.
Glad Stewie was humane to back Meg up
I once knew a guy who when he was in college made a deal with a frat house. He would do all the cooking and cleaning in exchange for free room and board.
Mind you we are talking about a dozen college guys.
He said he got all of his work done in about two hours.
So...yeah Lois, stop being such a martyr.
Cooking and cleaning a frat house with a dozen guys in exchange for free room and board sounds like a good trade-off
Wow 😯

Cooking for 6 people is not bad.
The issue is cooking for yourself
How is that hard? Genuinely asking
This is actually true. It is harder to cook for yourself. (I understand why but don't know how to properly put it into words)
I eat a lot so if the meals I make come out as a large quantity then it wouldn't be a problem.
@ToonyTails you can justify having dirty plates if you Cook for more than 3 people. But making a full corse meal for yourself seems like a waste, when you can make a sandwich or cup of noodles for half the effort and less dishes
having the same sandwich you've had since you were 7 is easy. figuring out what you want for dinner is the real challenge.
I clean at an airport. Meg is me coming home to find out that my roommates haven't picked up or cleaned any of their messes.
I love how Lois and Peter got taken down a peg in this episode.
Since I have my own house now I'm completely on Meg's side. It doesn't take much time to keep it clean, my mother was just exaggerating a lot.
Keep in mind that for many years she was cleaning up after you too??
Fun fact: people shouldn't have kids of they're going to whine and complain about "cleaning up after you".
Yeah, that's the point. A 10 year old can't do all that much and will make mistakes.
It amazes me to this day that Boomers and Gen X act as if having kids was forced on them. Kinda glad millennials and Gen Z actually ask themselves if they want to have kids before just producing 3
respect your mother’s work
Well to be fair it kind of was. My dad was talking the other day about how his generation didn't get to perceive a choice. Also you have to clean up after kids multiple times a day. When they learn to crawl or walk it's really hard because you can't even drop a dime on the floor with out them sticking it in their mouth and theyre faster then you'd think.@luxinvictus9018
Living on your own ≠ taking care of your family and yourself. Cleaning after yourself is easy obviously I don't get the point you're trying to make here?
Just think: Adulting is easier than your family makes it appear to be.

I remember watching this episode as kid and being like, "No way it's that easy." And it is that easy. Seriously, what's so hard about going to work that I don't get? House keeping too, It's not that hard. Time consuming? A bit yeah. But totally manageable.
Meg is amazing and she’s right.
Lois is a martyr
It's a comedy show snowflake. Meg will always be the butt of the show.

More a “victim mentality” than “martyr”
When the kids are doing better than the adults, that’s when you know you’re bad parents.
Or be proud of your children
I can relate to Meg here. It never takes me long to clean up my apartment and cook food for me and my roommates while having a job.
She martyrs herself to make the job seem much bigger and harder than it is because she wants to feel more important than she already is.
"How hard it is to cook." It's called being able to read, lady, it's not hard.
Yeah I don’t know why so many people complain it’s hard to cook. It’s so easy when you know what you’re doing and it’s not like you always have to make some crazy gourmet meal.
I figured out you can cook, clean, and work out all at once by walking in place while you do the other stuff. When I couldn't it took the other five people in my house more than twice the time to finish half the chores I do by myself.
Bro, that gets me so mad, especially at my job.
My coworkers get so surprised when I handle something by myself in record time.
My dude, if it takes you two hours to finish something that I tend to finish in half of an hour, am I just that good or are you just that bad?
@@GhostGuy99 the answer is usually both, at least based on how often it happens at jobs my brother has had.
Honestly the ending of that episode was kinda contrived you could tell they genuinely had no idea how to return to the status quo.
How did it end?
Honestly Meg saying “its a finite space” has somehow really helped motivate me to keep my space clean lol
The sad thing is that when kids are neglected, they usually learn to be adults as kids so this is pretty accurate for meg
And chris
The funniest stewie was the evil genius mixed with infant problems. As soon as they turned stewie into essentially a grown up with vulgor behavior and insults they lost the character entirely
I love the addition at the end of Stewie eating toys. Meg is bragging about a successful day, but "her" baby has spent the day eating plastic.
It’s funny how Meg and Chris actually won this fight…
We’ve seen this plot being done by other cartoons but it’s always the parents that win.
What’s more gratifying is how Meg actually won using logic
While Chris is already outperforming Peter at Peter's own job on the first day.
School Is so much harder and depressing than "the real adult world" lol
A wise man once said that those who fondly remember childhood were never children.
Based on my first year at Northrop by May, 2024, after 4 years of college. I actually really, agree with your statement. I wouldn't say 'depressing' but school was definitely MUCH MORE challenging and harder than adult life.
Not really
They both suck. It's best to be born rich, honestly
@@GetYourChicken17...
Damn, that explains why I found being adult is harsh... I am way too well behaved as a kid because I don't want to burden my parents.
Should have gone wild once or twice...

Meg: Here it is, gang.
Me: 🤤
Me: Meg this is SO good! Better than Lois and your stupid family except for Stewie
Meg threw a Bomb to the legendary and martyred Housewife Life! 😂
An hour to clean the house is crazy. But Meg destroyed Lois 😭
Well action figure guns are pretty tasty and good source of protein.

I never tire of hearing Meg tell Lois how easy her "job" is. She literally just does what any single adult does in addition to a full time actual job.
Stewie's the realest cause he's always got Meg's back 💪
Not really
Yeah, honesty house chores are sooo easy that I don’t understand why full-time housewives or husbands can’t do it themselves
children are what make it hard, you are constantly cleaning, it's not a one time in a day thing, add cooking while watching the children and being interupted by them, plus other chores that people don't think about, and the repetitiveness of the tasks can attack you mentally like any other jobs, but once the kid become more independent it become easier, and people want to go back to work usually
I love seeing Meg's sassy side
0:31 They’re all like damn
Wow, Meg makes a good dinner. I am just as surprised as everyone else
Louis stands next to the washer as it washes clothes. So she literally does one task at a time.
My parents made cleaning our relatively small house out to be such a goddamn chore it was ridiculous. They acted like doing certain chores ate up so much time and that they never had time to relax. They left for a week long trip and I alone managed to get out entirely house spotless in just a couple hours on the first day they were gone, and since it was just me and the dog, I only had to clean up after him which wasn’t that hard. They came home and said it had to have taken me a couple days and I showed them the pics I took of the house before and after I cleaned, and showed them the timestamps to be in the same day.
It’s really not hard to do when you don’t have people squawking in your fuckin ear and making it out to be this horrible time consuming chore.
Peter and Lois don’t realize the Meg and Chris success means they have successfully raised them😂
I love how Meg said what everyone knows, a house doesn’t take much time daily. It really is just an hour of work😂
This episode was actually really entertaining

I think this is exactly why Lois is the nastiest to Meg, as megs achievements are her own hard work not her looks which Peter often disparages as she’s aging, or her daddy’s money. The only thing she has is being a housewife and she’s crap at that, she doesn’t actually seem to really pay attention to Stewie and often Brian is the real parent. When Chris looks after his girlfriends twins he explains he’s seen her do it, and her with Stewie and it doesn’t look that hard, Stewie even says you just shattered her.
In Seahorse Seashell, Meg calls her out for constantly ruthlessly calling out Megs shortcomings after being; a shoplifter, prostitute, drug addict and whore, when Lois says they made her a better person Meg points out they haven’t. Also in Throw it away Tricia’ book says if something brings no joy throw it away she throws her family away showing she doesn’t care about them at all, it’s also Implied when Stewie finds out he’s an oops baby it was pretty much because Lois wanted another kid to justify her do nothing life.
Just wait until it becomes a daily routine, Chris.
"She has no idea how hard cooking is."
Um. What? Cooking isn't hard. It's literally following directions and paying attention. And the only thing that Meg would have had to keep track of was Stewie and Brian, being the baby and the dog that could cause more messes as the day progresses. It's not hard at all. Tiring? Can be, but not hard. Of course, add more younger kids and animals and that becomes more tedious.
yep. if you are fast enough, all the housework can be done in 2 hours.
dishes, vaccuming, cleaning the tub, dusting, washing clothes, etc.
and cooking, including prep, cooking/baking, and cleaning afterwards, all can be done in 2 hours for most cooking items. leaving lois with 12 hours of nothing.
and meg basically showed her how that was done.
It's true, you put all the big tasks into smaller one, mixing some of the parts into steps that would make time more valuable at the end instead of it being wasted...
This scene shows you just how pathetic peter and lois life really are
Meg does well as an adult but chris couldn't cope up with the stress 😂
Cooking and cleaning is easier if you don't also have to drop off or pick up the kids from school. Leaves extra time to get stuff done.
How long would either of those things take?
@@M4x_P0w3r depends on travel times, for me in the Chicago city area, 30min drive one way on the best day. Life isn't hard because it's just "so much work"
It's hard because doing the same damn things day in and day out, day after day, week after week, year after year, wear away at your actual soul. Back before the single minded need for "large scale efficiency" reduced every job to a series of monotonous tasks, we had more variety and enrichment in our lives from doing basic required shit. Now if you need your car fixed or your hair done better you just do what you would have done anyway for an extra couple hours and pay someone else who just fixes cars or styles hair for a living to do that shit for you. Maybe they'll do it better than you would have, but dammit human beings thrive on variation and novelty. We *want* to learn new things, and try new skills, because it makes us feel great when we prove we can.
Yeah, that's what happens. Chris replaces Peter and becomes the family breadwinner and it drives him nuts.
