I have tuned my Mavic Pro to the same settings as you have explained on this video but I was wondering what type of ND filter your using? What Grade of ND filter do you mainly use? great video, thank you... I am a seasoned photographer just venturing into the world of the Mavic.
    What ND filters do you find yourself using most?
    Also, do you use polarizing filters for any of your shots?
    I see some others asked about manual focus and manual exposure in the thread on FB -- something else I plan to look into.
    Appreciate you sharing and look forward to your gimbal video!

    • @AttilioRuffo
      @AttilioRuffo  Před 7 lety

      Thanks a lot Bryan! I use this Polar Pro ND filters kit... amzn.to/2mXj0Cu and the one I use the most is the ND 16. I am not using polarized filters as I think you have good results with those, only when the sun is perpendicular to the subject...and if not you can have some weird dark spots in the sky....
      The gimbal settings video will be ON next Thursday! ciao

    Hello my friend! That was a nice video! I have the phantom 4 and i could not find the "second menu: as you said for video size. Could you please tell me how you switch the video size for example 1920x1080 50frames etc..? Thank you!

    • @AttilioRuffo
      @AttilioRuffo  Před 7 lety

      thanks! I believe the phantom 4 uses the same DJI GO 4 app as the Mavic Pro...so once you are in the settings, in the first screen will find ISO and Shutter Speed, then on the very top, click on the camera icon, it will take you to a different menu and the second item, is the video size, where you can select whatever you prefer. I hope this helped. ciao!

      In my opinion auto-ISO will NOT increase your video quality...better to stick with ISO at 100, otherwise you will see more noise in your footage...

    Shutter Speed Question: I set the shutter speed at 60 but everything was so overexposed that I couldnt see anything. I had to change it to 1000 or 2000 before it looked better. Why do you recommend 60? I dont have an ND filter so what would you recommend then?

    • @AttilioRuffo
      @AttilioRuffo  Před 7 lety

      Hi Sean, using the slower shutter speeds will give to your footage some motion blur, making your images look more cinematic. But in daylight, you can only these slow shutter speeds with the help of ND filters...
      You could try to use these slow shutter speeds before sunrise or after sunset and see if you like the effect, and then if so...it would be good idea to get a set of ND filters! have fun

    • @AttilioRuffo
      @AttilioRuffo  Před 7 lety

      well, I would still shoot in manual, keeping ISO at 100 and the lowest shutter speed possible, without overexposing...

    You never want to use negative 1 for sharpness..
    If you use anything that 0 and below the automatic Mavic DJI noise reduction will be on and it's not very good because it makes something sharp and some things blurry in really sucks..
    The only way to be running your mavic if you're doing post-production IS +1 SHARPNESS AS DJI SAYS THIS SHUTS OFF THE AUTO NOISE REDUCTION.
    Because it's much easier to use noise reduction in post-production and do it the right way without sketchy sharpness and blurry parts then using the noise reduction inside the Mavic
    ;)

    Ciao Attilio, intanto ti faccio i complimenti per i tuoi video che sono molto esplicativi e mostrano quanta passione hai per il tuo lavoro. Volevo chiederti una cosa: ho un mavic pro e l'ho impostato secondo i tuoi parametri. A volte i video (ed anche le foto) mi escono disturbati con linee orizzontali nere . Mi sai dire il motivo? Grazie in anticipo.

  • @muzikmon2267
    @muzikmon2267 Před 6 lety

    And FYI you do not need ND filters if there's nothing moving in your picture meaning if you have no action shots of cars, people, things going across the screen it will make no difference you're better off just using a higher exposure to fix the light manually..
    The only reason to need the cinematic blur is when you're filming an actual movie scene with people in it and things moving all over the place with a video that you're showing right now you do not need to double the shutter speed of the frame rate..
    ;)

    • @AttilioRuffo
      @AttilioRuffo  Před 6 lety

      And also as far as it concerns ND filters, it makes a huge difference in my opinion to lower the shutter speed, the drone is actually moving.. so there will be motion blur!

    • @muzikmon2267
      @muzikmon2267 Před 6 lety

      Attilio Ruffo
      I understand what you're saying but this has already been proven in side-by-side tests online that it doesn't make a difference..
      Only if you have a lot of action in the middle of the picture like someone running, jumping up and down, it's a different type of movement..
      It's also been proven if there is no movement like action shots as I mentioned. You can actually get better results not using the ND filters..
      This is been proven with expert professional photographers...

    • @AttilioRuffo
      @AttilioRuffo  Před 6 lety

      Yes, I think that the problem is that you get an overexposed image, using the settings I talk about and no nd filters. So if you want to use a lower shutter speed, you do need nd filters! I am preparing a video about this... :-)
