That is beautiful footage that Drone does! Your able to do what you love....That Drone is a work of art in appearance also. A kid at the beach had one I looked it over. What really amazed me is how heavy it is w/ battery.

Five days under nine feet of pond water, and my first Mavic Pro, Skip, still flies great hundreds of flights later! I added a second one and love them both, especially with the DJI goggles! I call the Mavic Pro the A-10 of the drone world! I really like your channel!

Thanks for your content! I've had two Mavic Pro 1's. The first Alpine White lasted 5 years before it threw a prop and crashed onto pavement destroying it utterly. I immediately went to eBay and bought a Fly More Combo grey one. It needed only a compass calibration and once I needed to tweak it's gimbal. I carry it with me everywhere and fly it often. It's still a great bird and maybe someday I'll upgrade to a Mavic 3 but until then, I LOVE this Quad!

Finally, I found a review about mavic pro for 2021. I like this video because I also own mavic pro and it can convince me to continue using mavic pro. Indeed mavic pro meets my needs in photography and videography for my hobby..nice bro!👍

I "upgraded" from the Mavic Pro to the Air 2 two years ago and have been using it ever since. Today I flew my Mavic Pro for the first time in two years and I really forgot how good it is. It's super quiet, flies smoothly, and the sensor/lens combination is superior to the Air 2.
The only drawback is the DJI Go 4 app compared to the DJI Fly app for the Air 2. I like the menu system on the DJI Fly app a lot more, and it's nice to have Quick Shots. But for a good pilot the original Mavic Pro is still a great tool.
Heck yeah the mavic pro is an amazing drone. One of my partners has the Air first generation and he is so ready to upgrade. lol. He flys my Mavic 2 pro and hates his drone more and more. Just because the the mavic pro or the mavic 2 pro fly so good. Don't get me wrong though. The Airs are great drone. Just a little different.
I have a Mavic 2 pro. But a few days ago I had the opportunity to buy its previous version of the Mavic Pro 1, I'm pleasantly surprised because this drone is still good recording equipment. People like to buy newer and newer ones, because it's such a fashion and they don't want to get to know the possibilities in the previous versions
Yeah I totally agree with you on that. The only reason why I ended up upgrading is because they stopped selling batteries for the Mavic Pro. So when your batteries get bad you cant get new ones. So that is unfortunate. I ended up purchasing the Mavic 2 pro only because it is supported still. I use my drone a lot for my job so I need it to work and if something was to happen I could get it repaired. Thanks for watching :)

I bought a Mavic Pro last year and love it. It does 90% of what the M2P does for half then price. I was gonna get the MA2 but figured a original pro and a mini combined are the same investment as a MA2. Made more sense to me.

I buy one in 2023. Not the first drone I fly, I actually had the Mini and the mini 2. Just wanted to see how this hold up and you can feel the difference when it to keeping up with the winds.
It still suits my needs. For me, it’s about nailing exposure, composition, and camera movements. I use the goggles also. Bulky as hell but gets the job done. I won’t need to upgrade any time soon.

My Mavic Pro hasn't been told it's "long in the tooth"... so it just keeps flying well, not producing any issues, and recording great video.

Hi, how you can prevent the batteries to swell or go bad?
Thank you for posting this. Built a whole MP1 with new DJI replacement parts, flew first time on Jan 1st 2021. Slapped on a Decalgirl 'Dystopia' wrap & some quiet blades and it rocks. Very stable & reliable. Bit of a beast really. Noticed some of your pro tricks in the vid, the quick twist after the reverse catch. I'm guessing you are using sport mode to stay with the fishing boat, such precision flying!

totally agreed. as an amateur, i guess i don't need more higher performance than mavic pro, i have. there are so many brand new models come out and never considered. if the batteries get old, so the fly time goes down under 20 min, i should consider to buy new OEM batteries though.

Hey thanks for reaching out. It has been a really busy week. Sorry for the late reply. Yes I would get these filters. amzn.to/3vZwtKV If you are just starting out. Just shoot in auto. It will do great for you. Also I use Premiere Pro to edit everything in. Ive never flown rc planes. I think drones are a lot easier than that. Pretty awesome stuff. You should make some videos on that. I would definitely watch :)

Yes it is truly an awesome drone
My 3rd party Enegon battery from Amazon popped out bringing down my Mavic Pro. I had the gimbal overload error so replaced the ribbon. No change so I replaced the gimbal motor and switched over camera but same error message. I was offered a Mavic Air 2 at a great price so I took it as a replacement but I am very disappointed with the flight experience, flight modes etc. I miss the reversible POI, Tapfly, Course Lock and the smooth Cinematic mode. The video and camera on the MA2 are not a great enough difference to buy it. I will try and repair the Mavic Pro and get back to using it as I honestly much prefer it.

Again i love my mavic pro i bought in 2017.. i have a Mini SE.. i might strap the SE on the bottom of the mavic to show it what it's grand daddy can do!!! I have 2 "powerextra" off brand batteries i bought off amazon from 2018. They are down to 80%. Neither have swelled.. but my dji ones have. I bought the DJI googles, and there is nothing like flying with those and being able to look and the camera moves while your flying. I sit on my back poarch 3x a week and still fly it. I even fired up and gave my 2016 hubsan 501s a few flights last night.

i agree, i have mavic pro and mavic mini. i feel more confident to fly the mavic pro and i sold my mavic mini.
Not a bad choice. I have to keep my mavic mini around just incase something happens to my mavic pro then Ill have a back up to get the job done. I can't offered to not complete a job. Like most people. Thanks for watching :)
Just got it today. My first drone. Maybe once I am used to flying then I'll upgrade. Thought it seems a good drone and got a good deal for it, got filters for it too and goggles added to it.
It's a great drone still. I fly mine all the time

@@makhoDutch I tested mine out in 20-25 mph wind and it didn't skip a beat. I kept it under 100' though.
I just bought one used for 300 bucks. It's my first drone. Hopefully it's turns out a great buy

That is a very good price. I just sold mine for $650 and I used mine about a million times lol. Just upgraded to the mavic 2 pro. But the mavic pro is a perfect drone. You should definitely get it if you can.

I've crashed mine a few times in the power lines trees etc and I've managed to rip off the arms the camera brake propellers etc and if you're able to fix these things yourself repairs are pretty cheap. I've done all my own repairs and I've never sent it back into DJI for anything. That was a while ago when I was still learning to fly and I haven't crashed it in a very long time but this thing is very sturdy and is underestimated a lot.
Yes it is definitely underestimated. Definitely a great drone. I am about to replace one of the landing gear feet. I didnt crash it but I had it on a boat and because the bag is soft someone stepped on it and broke the leg. Like you said very easy and cheap to repair. @@MichaelJohnsonProductions mine's having an issue where the gimbal just doesn't respond to the controller in any way whatsoever. I've replaced the ribbon cable with a cheap Amazon one and I've tried resetting the firmware and doing absolutely everything I can over the last couple days but nothing is working. I've even tried a different controller. I didn't want to but I've ordered a whole another gimbal and I'll install that in a couple days when it gets here.
Oh wow that is a horrible situation. Sorry to hear that. I am about to sell my DJI Mavic Pro. I finally upgraded to the Mavic Pro 2. My brother sold it to me for a really good deal. I couldn’t pass it up. But I was perfectly happy with my Mavic pro but I dont need both. I already have a Mavic mini just for back up. Honestly back to your situation I’ve never heard of the gimbal acting up like that. Let me know if you get that back working.
@@MichaelJohnsonProductions my new gimbal should come tomorrow hopefully that solves the issue. Otherwise I'm wondering if it's the control board for that. Beyond those things I don't know what else it could be cuz there's literally nothing else I haven't already tested

I need to buy a drone for security recon at night over our rural area, i won't need to see details, just any movement, there is some ambient light but also pitch dark spots , but my budget is strict and i basically have 2 options a new mini 2 flymore package for R10 000 or a 2nd hand mavic pro flymore kit (says 68 charges) for R12 000.
The guy at a drone shop i contacted said i can mount lights on the mavic pro but not on the mini 2, I'm not too keen on the extra funds for a 2nd hand drone.
Could someone tickle my brain on some other pro's and con's between the 2 and opinions?
Reliability and long-term use is a very important factor as it will basically be used every day/night.
The Mavic Pro started it all. It’s built pretty tough. Plus dual compass, dual IMU and a processor error checking the numbers to prevent glitch failures. It’s something that DJI no longer advertises on most of their drones.

Yeah there is a lot of mixed reviews on those off brand batteries. Luckily when I purchased mine B&H still had some and I was able to purchase.

I think I was one of the last people that purchased them from B&H before they stopped selling them. Freaking sucks they stopped selling them

Wow I just looked and couldn't find any either. I purchased mine off of B&H but it looks like they are no longer selling them. That sucks. I never purchased the third party batteries and the reviews are mixed so purchase with caution.

Do you think it'd be worth it in 2024 (non professional use) if I can get one for $280 with hard case and two batteries included? I see people trying to sell them from mid $300's to $600's and DJI is still selling them new at $999 which is crazy!
That's a good deal still. Yes, newer drones have better cameras and features..... But that doesn't mean the mavic pro sucks.

I love my MP1, but honestly, if you're really into videography, the dynamic range and 8 bit color sucks 🙂 pushing 4k cine dlog on a 60 Mbit bandwidth is not ideal. But, sure, it depends on the use case. It's still great of you simply shoot vivid profile on your vacation. Normal people just get blown away by the photos and videos. Depends on whose behind the drone 🙂

Yes it does. It works pretty good as well. Not as good as the Mavic 2 pro. But definitely will get the job done.

All I know is, I bought mine in 2016, still like brand new now. The only problem is, the app is absolite, so the drone flies sketchy, and loses connection with the controller and making you fly blind. They purposely want you to be limited and buy a new one once the grace period runs out IMO.....

You can get third party batteries that will work pretty good. But me personally never like using third party batteries but they will work.
I would Never sell my Mavic still fly's just as good if not better than some new release models and very easy to Replace Batteries and parts

Awww I’m sorry your computer or whatever you watched this on much not have enough juice to power this video in the resolution you was trying to watch it in. It does that when the device is not powerful enough. Audio sync is perfect. Try lowering the resolution buddy.
Nah it’s old, waiting for the dji mavic 3 pro. It will be released this year.
