The difference between Medvedev's game and every other Next Gen star is that his game is adaptable and unique. This is what gives me hope for his future. Not that he has more talent than those other guys, but he has an X Factor. That and this summer he has been so remarkably calm and steady-- not freaking out or letting the moment get the better of him like so many of those other guys.
I still think FAA has the best game of the young guys so far, but Medvedev seems to have the best brain.

      J Ton,
Medvedev may have one more than most tennis players. We have to notice that he is a Russian and his country's last Winter Olympic team was 100% on something. Even lovely and beautiful Maria was caught.

Medvedev is good and may become a future #1 player. However, not that I am overly suspicious of his background, it is hard to believe that any athlete came out of Russia is clean. From weight-lifting, Winter Olympics, to tennis, their test results are extremely deplorable. Hopefully, Medvedev is an exception but we have to wait and see.

Quite interesting how Medvedev seems to play much more apathetically even in highlights, compared to his fierce most aggression against Nadal in the final. I feel the tennis players really need this skill to relax when they need to, considering the long season with inhumanly frequent tournaments all around the world as well as the long two weeks of the majors. Only players with super-human physicality like Nadal can fight for EVERY point.

Not to take away anything from Medvedev for a well deserved win, but Stan is ever so inconsistent in his matches. However good he is, you can never be sure about him - on his day, he can beat Djokovic at his absolute peak which seems undoable for everyone else including Roger and Rafa at times and on other days, he can exit the GS in a first or second round. As for this match, he should have won the first set but seemed to falter on big points. His unpredictability and inconsistency is one of the reasons that he hasn't one many Masters like the Big Four. But then again, he is a delight to watch when he goes into 'God Mode'.

Medvedev was shit in the finals, and even when he got his game together, in the 5th set, he still let it slip, Stan would have stopped Nadal, for sure, had he been in the final, he would have peaked in 'God mode,' and stopped Nadal getting in the groove, and hitting winners, such a pity, I hope Nadal wins nothing else now!
