    It's not often commented on - Stan may not be the fastest around the court, but his footwork to get into position is beautiful. Very light on his feet when doing that.

    I just admire this guy stan so much he was a beast in his prime had the guts to defeat Djokovic in grand slam finals he is aesthetically pleasing to watch has one of the best backhand's in the game ❤️

    Medvedev's movement skills are unbelievable at 6'6". He's like Gumby, he's so flexible and can dig anything out of the corners.

      Medvedev is not 6'6. Believe me, I seen him play live multiple times and he is just a slight bit above 6'3. I don't know why but ATP has this weird obsession with inflating players' height. Shwartsman is not 170cm either, the dude is barely, and I mean barely, touching 160cm.

    when Fed hits a few backhands in a row you know he is going to make an error soon but Stan is so so solid. Wow
    Happy that he won majors in an era of the big three.

    A lot pros hit off the backfoot, jump into the shots, hit open stance etc.
    Stan hits text book ground strokes!
    He gets the racquet back early, does a unit turn, head down, and moves FORWARD into the shot.
    He's my favorite along with Tsitsipas.

    Wawrinka in the 5th set was Non Stop full throttle. That combined with his fuller game especially net approach and execution. Wawrinka all day over Med.

    Something that never gets talked about is Stan's net game IMHO. It gets overlooked bc he's not a "volleyer" in the Federer-sense where he would actively try to rush to the net to end the point quick. But when he is there, he rarely messes up. I mean, you never really see Stan just straight up botched a volley.

      Not only does Wawrinka have good volley skills, he has powerful groundstrokes with depth and angles that set up into them, as Federer in more instances approaches the net at some awkward times but makes it up with great feel and anticipation (sometimes). You could consider Wawrinka to be an effective volleyer in this game because he can finish the point at the net and knows when to execute it as well as how it fits into the whole scope of his game.

    Epic match you can see the quality and level of both these major champions. Medevdev now won the 2021 Us open and Stan had already won 3 major opens.
    It's kind of unfortunate that the way the tennis draw work when you get 2 high quality players clash over 5 sets however good they are the winner often will risk defeat if they have any trouble recovering in time for the next round.

      I think Thiem would have been his only major stumbling block. Obviously, beating Djokovic would never be an easy ask but Medvedev has handled him fairly comfortably on a couple of occasions.

    Love Stan . Like Dani. He is so painfully thin. Maybe why he moves well. Watching this. It reaffirms how much more beautiful the one handed backhand is compared to a 2 hander. No comparison. Medvedev is a great defender. Not a bomb thrower. He wins with a lot of defense . Stan more offensive , not as good on defense.

      Stan may look stocky but he's not fat. His stockiness is what gives him his power cuz he's got a lot of muscle. I feel like if he loses some pounds, he might be a bit faster, but he'll lose some power.

    Poor Medvedev! I came to watch this match after Medvedev lost the 2022 Aussie Open final to Rafa Nadal in which the Australian crowd was so rude to Medvedev. This 2020 crowd was not exactly neutral either. I wonder what Danil Medvedev did to deserve this.

    Djoko lost to Stan in the first time they met in 2006. And then from 2007 till 2013, Djoko beat Stan 14 straight times!! Brutal!!
