- If your bike has a heavy clutch that wears out your hand and causes poor clutch control, the Magura Hydraulic Clutch is a solution that replaces your cable actuated clutch with a smooth pulling, responsive hydraulic clutch lever system.
Magura’s Hydraulic Clutch operates on the same principles as your hydraulic brakes, and with a built-in fluid reservoir and slave cylinder, this hydraulic clutch makes your lever pull consistent and predictable throughout its range with a pull that’s up to 20% easier than a cable actuated clutch.
Installation is fairly simple by mounting the components, routing the lines, and bleeding/adjusting the system until it works well for you. The new hydraulic clutch lever will pull easily and smoothly with no pressure points but improved feedback. This makes the Magura Hydraulic Clutch great on tight technical terrain or for use with heavier than stock clutch springs.

My KTM 1290SA uses mineral oil too. I actually use unscented baby oil, which is 100% mineral oil. It gives a really nice feel, and is very cheap. I first put it in when I was 65 miles from home and the clutch felt funny. I saw the level was low, went to the drug store and got a small bottle, put it in just to get home, but I’ve used that same oil for 15 months...I expected it would leak again through the slave, but it never did. Great emergency product that some people also use permanently.
I recommend using microwaved butter from 7-11. Have been in similar situation, has been 3 years and it’s only caused 4 accidents. It’s awesome.
@@WestHaddninI have cable clutch and it has 0 accidents withing 10 years and a few times to set the cable slack which is a few minutes work.
Except they feel numb and have fixed throw and engagement which may not be to your liking
Care to elaborate on that? So the clutch will engage when you move the lever a little bit or it won't engage untill at least over half way in to the handle ?
I need this, I have trouble clutching in the air and I get arm pump easily
Junk. Save your money. Buy an easy pull stunt clutch from eBay, does same thing.
Yes, i have used both and will never buy a magura again.
@@Fuck_Tarentum_Boro just saw your response, I checked ebay and the reviews were bad, breaks after s few adjustments , is yours still holding up? Sende a link to a good product if you can, thanks
@@codprocamp4690 i have been using these easy clutch adapters for years! On more than 1 kind of bike, also have many friends who use and love them.

@@Fuck_Tarentum_Boro thanks for response, the magura is almost 600$ and apparently a real pain to install properly.
Nice video, I would suggest installing 2 or 3 softer clutch springs from a smaller bike to see if that works before spending the money on this unit. I put 3 WR250f springs (which I purchased from RM MC) in my WR450f clutch and it reduced the clutch pull a good 25% with no noticeable clutch slipping. This works great for me as I do not race and just ride with friends on weekends. The modification only cost me about 6 dollars and 15 minutes of my time.
How about two stroke like DT and RXT it is comportable
Hey, would this fit a 1981 GSX1100. I can not see any reason why it won't work as long as it would fit on the engine end. I have a number of old bikes and I would like to try one out on one of them.
Dumb question. Can I put this on my pit bike semi auto?
do they make this system for older bikes? i would love this on my '78 gs750
Magura doesn't list a hydraulic clutch kit for your bike but you can email them at powersports@magura.de with the model and details of your motorcycle to see if they have a system that would work for you.
Why will brake fluid not work?
Do they make a kit for a 2007 xr650l honda? And when the slave cylinder does go bad, is it also a replaceable unit?
i have 450 2012 conversation kit and the cable broke. can i replace and how do i stop the handguards from breaking it
Will this work for a replacement for my 2009 polaris 525 outlaw?
Is the slave cylinder the only thing that makes these specifically applicational? Do they screw on and off?
Yes the slave cylinders screw on and off and the slave cylinder is the only difference between applications.
Can you put qny other kind of clutch lever on the magura perch or only a magura lever?
Yes, just depends on the brand. Some companies offer them and some do not.
@@rmatvmc what about the Asv or Streamline
Hey, can you get one of these to fit a 1978 Z1R Kawasaki or is there a conversion that make it compatible with these old bikes.
I have a ktm sxf 250cc I have clutch fluid am I better putting mineral oil in
If you have a Magura clutch you will want to use the Magura Hydraulic Clutch Blood Oil. You can check that out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/magura-hydraulic-clutch-red-blood-oil-p
is there any hydrolic clutch’s that fit a crf 250r 2022
Sorry for the delayed response. We were digging into this and making sure what kit would word for the 2022. You can click the link below and enter your bike's year, make and model to ensure you get the correct one.

Hi. Does anyone know if PRO TAPER XPS is compatible with HYMEC?
Is the grab point adjustable?..Sometimes I like barley any lever pull to disengage the clutch, sometimes I like a little more play...
You can adjust the reach of the lever, but not really the "grab point" of where the clutch engages and disengages.
@@rmatvmc ok cool, cheers 👍
@@rmatvmc so how far do you have to pull in the lever before it engages the clutch .. half way? A quarter way ?
Can you please do an installation video for a crf150r. There is 0 information about it and have no idea if im missing parts
Do u have to get the fluid for it or does it come with some in it
Some models come prefilled and some have a bottle of hydraulic fluid in the package. So if you follow the directions you shouldn't need to get extra oil but of course it's never a bad idea to have!
If I get the 2018 yz125 model one do u know if it comes with the oil already in the clutch itself or if there is a separate bottle of the hydronic fluid does it come with a blender many thanks
They are to cheap to include the oil at 260.00 , ggg
Hi, is the clutch unit made to fit all bikes? I have a 1978 Honda 400/4 will i require a different unit than then one you demo ?
These are bike specific and you would need to have the correct fitment. We don't carry one for your bike and you would need to reach out to Magura to see if they had one for your bike.
Hi guys I was wondering if anyone knows where can I get a hydraulic clutch for my 2014 Can-Am DS 450?
Will this thing work on a Speed Triple RS with a quick shifter? I absolutely despise cable clutches and something like this will be make or break over the purchase of the Triumph
Magura has an application chart showing all the bikes they make the HYMEC clutch for and only list the Speed Triple until 2015. Your best bet would be to contact them directly and see if they can figure out something to work for your bike.
Dear Magura,
I got a kit for my 2021 crf250rx. Why is the wires on clutch safety switch to short to reach factory connections and wrong type of connections? I did specify what model my bike was when ordering it. The installation instructions needs improvement for buying something that cost around 300$. Thanks!please return my message I left on voicemail. I’m not mad just hurt I have to wait to go ripping today.
Did you get it working? If yes, how do you like it, as I'm considering it for my 2020 CRF250RX.
I just installed this on my CR500. Is it normal to hear a little bit of air hissing out of the slave cylinder when I pull in the clutch? It seems to work fine but I hear a little bit of air purging in and out of the slave cylinder as I work the clutch lever there's just normal is it just breathing? It's coming from the brass nut on top of the slave cylinder
Yeah, as long as everything works like it should and you have no leaks, it sound's normal. My bike made a similar sound, I think it's just air going past the boot. -Charles
why too use mineral oil?
won't attract water, not harsh on paint when leaking, generally safer.
Could you adapt it for a left hand rear brake?
You mean actually use this as a brake instead of a clutch?
Hi ... got magura hydraulic clutch problem on my 2012 crf450r ... when I squeeze clutch level and keep it squeezed after few seconds the clutch arm on the engine goes back to neutral position... any idea... ? Thanks for help
Never had one of these before but to me it sounds like you may have some air in the system and need to bleed it. Air in the line is what makes your brakes mushy and could also be what is not allowing for the hydraulic to hold. Or maybe a small leak. Look for a a place where fluid may be leaking when you squeeze the lever.
I have a 2018 kx450f but not seeing where to buy and exact fit, will the 2017 fit ot do you all cary a 2018 fitment?

I cant find where to buy this for a 2021 yz250f
Maybe try finding one for a 2020 or 2019 they should work
Can I use this with a 1999 Kawasaki kx250?
*Bikelife75* Looks like we don't carry one for your machine. Sorry.
Hi... is this universal ? I’m riding Honda Cb300r 2018 with Abs front and back... can my bike fix on this?
You will need to the enter your bike's model and year on the product page. They are NOT universal.
I have a crf250f and i need the smoothness of a hydraulic clutch for hard enduro. Is this system compatible with the crf250f??? Thanks guys!!!
Unfortunately, Magura doesn't currently make a HYMEC hydraulic clutch for the CRF250F.

Does this fit on a cr85rb

I looked it up online and it says it fits on a kx 85, but not a 100, how come?
Broxon Dean kx is trash thats why
It should fit on both.
Hi, i have question,
I installed this slave cylinder, but the travel space inside is short and doesn’t provide enough space to pull up and push down the clutch hammer,
What do you think I should do?
Did you ever diag and fix this / i.e. find a solution?
I had the same problem, I bought a bigger cylinder, the problem was not solved, what was the result?
my magura clutch is still leaking after rebuild
my leaking too and cant find a repair kit
Ebay. "Easy pull clutch" $12 and does same thing. My magura also failed
I feel like cable clutch just better for racing
I have a Buell XB 12S lightning, Do you have a kit that suits my bike, and is it available in Australia? If so please reply with a link or phone number etc. Thanks Mate.
Magura does not have a kit for the Buell bikes but they do have a slave cylinder for the Buell XB range, OrderCode#: 0 120 624
I suggest you contact Magura to put your own kit together so they can advise on a lever/master cylinder & line to go with the slave cylinder.www.magura.com/en/components/powersports/hydraulicclutchsystems/productdetailpage/?p=1853
www.twinmotorcycles.nl also did a hydraulic kit for Buell XB so drop them a mail and see hat they say.
Do ye ship to Ireland
Some manufacturers have restrictions on what we can ship out of the country but we do ship to Ireland. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.
please your product in to malaysia
Magura blood bullshit. Just use pure mineral oil, much cheaper and exact same thing
It only makes it 30% lighter really not worth it
@@enduringpursuit haha your missing the point it's not worth it because you can get feather wight clutch cables for about 15 £ from venhill cables that do the same. compared to the magura 250£ when I bought mine I've still got my magura clutch but I put it back it the box after finding out about these cables
@@enduringpursuit I have a husqvarna the clutch is so light..so I get you there. but if you are fitting a hydraulic clutch to a bike that is designed to have a cable for some reason it makes no real noticeable diffrance and I've tryed it on most bikes other than a suzuki
Its not compulsory to buy a hydraulic clutch ? If ya happy with a cheap cable " well knock yaself out and bulk buy some cable 👍👍
