Great video! More of these showing also us other features would be helpful. As a 35 year plus tech, we been used to other scans tools and jumping into a new scan tool it takes time to navigate around them. Can't wait to get my TOPOLOGY installed!!!!

What can’t the PHOENIX LITE 2 do that the PHOENIX PLUS can?
I’m trying to decide between the two.
For your information,Phoenix Lite 2 and Phoenix Plus don't have many differences, including:
1. Plus has Diagnostic Topology display, while Lite2 doesn't.
2. Plus has ADAS calibration software (requires an additional subscription fee), while Lite 2 doesn't.
However, they have many similarities:
1. Both have 2GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM.
2. Both support online coding for BMW, VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, and Porsche.
3. Both have guided functions for VW, Audi, and Skoda.
Just to test battery you need to purchase a app? My cheaper obd can test battery and alternator
Hello, to perform a battery test on the Phoenix Lite2, you just need to purchase the BTMobile ProS. The app is free and has already been configured on the tablet.
We connect a wire (coat hangar) across both terminals. If it basically smokes the wire within 10 seconds, the battery is pure/worthy.

How do I look at the readiness monitors? With any snap on scanner, you go into engine>general functions>readiness monitors. I picked up most of the general functions but I cant find readiness monitors.
Most info and replies seem to be a year old or close to it! Your has been posted for 2 months with no reply! Report it thought your unit! Scares me. I’m thinking I bought a unit 11/23 that’s already obsolete!with little or no feed back. Nobody is posting any videos using this model lite2 on you tube! Strange!
I ended up calling the support number. I looked it up on google but it was right on the back of my scanner. I have called a few times already and every time I get a person within minutes, or I use the call back option. And I have always had my questions answered.@@user-jv5mx2yj6c

I am about to purchase a scan tool. I was thinking of the Phoenix Lite 2. Literature states it does NOT have Topology. However, some folks have said that when they upgraded to the latest software update, they now have Topology. Can you confirm this for me?

Yes, it is avaliable, $100 fee. But you need to be more concerned if registration/initialization will even be possible, lol.
Excellent review just one question while performing auto scan you stated that once the tool has acquired the vehicle VIN it then connects to the internet does this mean the tool will not function without internet access thank you.
Hi, there are two paths to diagnose a vehicle, AutoScan requires internet connection, it needs to decode and aquire the vehicle info from server. When this is no wifi or available internet, you could enter Scan > manually select the vehicle software(such as Mercedes) >select model, year or make to start diagnostic.

Does this have the power balance and injector cut out for missfire troubleshooting? I realize it depends on the vehicle, but also if the tool even offers that function.

Does AutoAuth work no matter where you buy the tool?
AutoAuth rejects registration of non USA serial numbers of Autels units. Wondered if this is true with Topdon as well.
Hi Dj Wilson, our device doesn't have this restriction, and have obtained the US FCA account login authority, as long as you have registered an FCA account on the AutoAuth official website and bound our diagnostic tool, you can log in to FCA to unlock the SGW security gateway normally, here are some files fyi: we.tl/t-IAUhRarw2H
i have the phoenix lite 2 why does it lose the mdci to much thats a big pain when iam trying to Activate bidirectional controls and yes i try go back and try the fix the mdci it work sometimes only to much money for this to happen
Hi Steven, do you mean the VCI loses control during diagnostics? Does this happen on a specific vehicle or on each vehicle you've scanned? @@TopdonOfficial it happens on each vehicle all from 03 to 07 chevys the light on the blue tooth Dongle stops flashing and then every light on the speedometer lights up go crazy then i have to turn the key off unplug it and do the “fix the blue tooth “

The software update period and hardware warranty period start once you activate the device. The device includes an activation code letter. After receiving the device and creating an account, you will need to activate the device.

Does this tool have the same birectional controls as the phoenix plus? What does the plus do that the lite 2 will not do? I'm a mobile mechanic and diagnosing issues is my #1 reason for wanting this tool and want it to be able to activate all the same solenoids and switches etc...as the phoenix plus. I don't need reprogramming much so if thats the main difference between this and the plus id rather save couple hundred and get the lite 2, any help?
For your information, lite2 is RAM2G ROM32G, plus is RAM2G ROM64G and plus has 10.1inch screen display, lite2 is 8inch. Besides, plus and lite2 don't suport online programming. plus supports ADAS but lite2 doesn't, plus has topology display while lite2 doesn't. They both support bi-directional control.

Awesome do you have a list of which scanner has a lifetime free updates etc. Just wish could get them big scanner with lifetime updates. Cause small 16gb no tfcard is bit small and got delete vehicle in order update it.
Currently among same level scanners, only Artidiag800BT has a lifetime free updates, our high-end phoenix series products have more storage capacity and upgrade subscription fee, but you can still use it without upgarde(the upgrade mainly includes: fix the bugs; add more vehicle model in the coverage list)

Hello, I apologize for the inconvenience, but currently, the device cannot be bound using auto auth. Therefore, you will need to use the 12+8 adapter to unlock the SGW of FCA models

Can you get into chrysler central gateway
The Chrysler models year after 2018 usually have SGW, Phoenix Lite2 is able to login a FCA account(get from third-party) to unlock sgw, here is the link to know more about FCA: webapp.autoauth.com. If you don't have FCA account, using a 12+8 special adapter to connect to the vehicle sgw interface to get into chrysler central gateway.

As cool as the topology feature on ALL of these Chinese aftermarket scanners is. They ARE NOT accurate and shouldn't be a key selling point. Not for their price. Trusting the topology feature of these scanners can lead you on a wild goose chase and cost you precious time and money. Remember it is not comparable to OEM topology that in most cases knows the as built equipment. Thus can accurately tell you what equipped modules have a communication fault. These aftermarket scanners just send out a call for communication and tell you who reported back. If no response, it says "Not equipped". That's is not accurate and is miss leading. Not worth the steep price these companies are asking for this half baked feature. No aftermarket scanner is comparable to OEM and no aftermarket does everything well. Know their strengths and weaknesses. They are cheaper than OEM for a reason.
Hi, Phoenix series products topology and OEM topology are basically the same, they all display all the systems and system status on a vehicle in diagrammatic form.
If you are facing the problem that the topology is not showing all the vehicle systems accurately or displays some systems are not equipped, please upload the related logs and make a video record to us, we'll have engineer analyze and simulate from background, then give you feedback.
I believe he is saying, for exame i have my abs module disconnected. The scanner shows not equipped instead of no communication like a toyota scanner would. So if a module is not present or offline the scanner isnt reading a no comm fault, it just shows not equipped. They do know that is the case and stated that another module should be able to detect a module with no comm. Not always but who is buying oem scanners? I have 3 different brands and between those, 1 should detect what i need. Its just how it is

Don't forget to tell people, if you don't continue the upgrades, you lose bi directional features and this bocomes a 200 dollar scanner.
Hello friend, as reconfirmed with product manager and engineer, if you don't upgrade, the bi-directional control function will still be avaible, the only difference between upgrade and don't upgrade is that we can/cannot download the latest version of softwares in UPDATE menu. @@TopdonOfficial No Sir, that is not correct. whoever you spoke with wasn't being honest. the online functions, like ECU coding, etc will be disabled completley. go see their answers on Amazon and other users.this borders on illigality. we pay over 1000 for a scanner and then if we don't pay to upgrade you take away the functions that we already paid for.
@@WV591 for your information, the online coding function of on BMW, VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat will be limited if you don't upgrade your phoenix lite2. But the bi-directional control, Hidden function flashing, special function will work the same as before.
Coding/programming is NOT BIDIRECTIONAL control.
As with almost all tools, subs are required for MOST if not ALL coding and programming.
