    I've found a side benefit of using hand wraps is that they absorb sweat. Thus, keeping your gloves from smelling like an unwashed vag. Everyone I know that don't use wraps have the smelliest gloves. At the price point of these gloves I'm using wraps just to keep funk out of my gloves.

    I have the velcro version of these gloves and I do love them. The protection and security you get from them is just superb. I still use handwraps because I am concerned about hygiene; I just pay attention not addopting an unnatural hand position and that is all. For me they are very high quality gloves, and I appreciate all the effort put in its developement. Congratulations to Trevor Wittman, the guy is awsome in all he does. Very complete review, by the way!

    Im sure hes done the rnd himself physically taught himself the basics of glove making. Ive seen a video of him stitching a glove. Its a unique idea. I hope he uses dunlop or tatalay latex or latex with silicone infused. Irrelevant of handwraps this lacing logic is unique and would help with locking your hand in place

    I requested this review awhile back (not sure if others had, too) thank you for doing it, and listening to the fans. It's great that Trevor was able to make videos for you to explain the system, materials, and reasons for them. That was a brilliant idea to have him do that. I think that will really help show how different the glove is and get rid of that stigma of "no leather = no good, and the fear factor of "no hand wraps!😱". That's been a big no-no in the boxing world, so having him show why will really help. Thanks again. Keep up the good work!

      @@steveaarons9709 I use lace and loop on Grant and Winning and they work surprisingly well on conventional lace ups. But just watching the video I have to agree with F2B using lace and loop on the ONX would defeat the purpose of the X factor lacing system. Not on the first glove perhaps, but on the second certainly. So i am waiting until the velcro version is back in stock as well.

    • @garethhaynes6796
      @garethhaynes6796 Před 4 lety +2

      Accipoel hi sorry about the late reply I had lace n loops too but they didn’t really work very well because of the way they were laced but the Velcro’s are more secure than most lace ups although the glove in general didn’t really hold up very well in the long run for the price and at 6 months I couldn’t even spar in them

    • @Accipoel
      @Accipoel Před 4 lety

      Gareth Haynes thanks for the reply! Wow that’s very surprising for a $300 glove. Have you been in touch with ONX to see what they say? What exactly happened to it? Is it a problem with the foam? I was seriously considering getting a pair now that pre-orders are available but this made me question it!

    • @garethhaynes6796
      @garethhaynes6796 Před 4 lety +2

      Accipoel yeah the Velcro tore off too they just asked what went wrong then sent me out another pair straight away and they were here within a week and I’m in the uk. But the padding was awful after a few months I got 16s I’m fairly heavy but not a massive puncher and only used them on pads and sparring never bag but I could feel my knuckle connecting with people 😬I didn’t even bother using the next set they sent. While they lasted they were great and I absolutely loved them and the idea plus mine might be a one off but I wouldn’t spend that amount of money for them to fail again 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s not like you hear it happening with winnings

    • @Accipoel
      @Accipoel Před 4 lety

      Gareth Haynes damn yea that sounds quite bad. Nice that they sent a new one. So you have no idea if the quality of the padding on the new pair is better ? I thought I had made up my mind between winning and ONX but looks like I’m back to 50/50 hahah as someone who’s had problems with my wrist the ONX system really appealed to me because of the protection. Guess Winning has been around for a while and had a good reputation for a reason!

  • @Accipoel
    @Accipoel Před 4 lety +2

    Hello,
    Thanks a lot for the review, very thorough and in-depth analysis that really helped me decide that I want a pair! I have a question though, you mentioned lace-n-loop wouldn't work on these, could you explain why ?
    I usually buy lace-up gloves and put the lace-n-loop because I've found it improves the longevity of the glove by not having to worry about the velcro (I've had to stop using gloves because of the velcro not working properly). Don't want to spend £240 on a glove and not get enough support because of the lace-n-loop though.
    Thanks once again!

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  Před 4 lety +1

      Well with these they work best when the two yellow markers are pulled together by someone tying your gloves I suppose you could use lace and loop but they won’t be as tight as they are designed to be , if I put lace and loop on mine I would wear Handwraps as well which you could Just not how they were designed- thanks for watching my channel and glad you like it

    • @Accipoel
      @Accipoel Před 4 lety

      Fit2Box Ah okay that makes sense! Thanks for the explanation! Think I’d get more bang for my buck with a Velcro in terms of protection since I usually rely on lace-n-loop for my lace-ups! Thanks again, have a good one :)

    It's called skinning the glove not pinching the glove the reason most commissions do not allow skinning is that it literally pulls the padding and leather away from the knuckles

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  Před 5 lety

      Robert Lamont
      wrist protection better on ONX gloves
      Knuckle protection feels more supportive with fastwraps and a good pair of normal gloves ( bearing in mind I am conditioned to using handwraps over many years and not wearing handwraps does take some getting your head round)
      That said ONX knuckle protection is very good due to the special foam used

When I uppercut wrong my wrist twinges but this also happened when I was using hand wraps. I only wish onx had different colors.

    Does someone have to go through that process of tightening every level of the lace each time you tie it up?
    I was interested in the lace-ups because the Velcro on my current gloves are failing and the lace-up seems like a good alternative, but I’m worried about being super annoying at the gym asking the coach to spend that much time tightening up the laces

    You seemed less convinced and more sceptical with the burrowed Velcro pair. It’s as if you have to spend your own money first to gain appreciation next. Trevor deserves for someone to dissect his gloves and reveal the scientific secrets are probably just some newer types of memory foam; look to the snowboard industry to find the match. The lack of whole-truth nature of his presentation give him a nervous shake like he’s lying all throughout - gives an indication to his honesty, I suppose. Yet as innovative as the gloves are not too many pro boxers seem to be riding the train. More like mixed up MMA mumbo jumbo lavishinglg sprinkled with pet-pinching technology that numbs the thumbs to death for everyone else. Hence why it’s Xrossed off the choice of most serious user’s gloves list. But still, 10 points for efforts and towards encouraging more new technology outcomes with nervous shuffling associated reveals... It’s funny, I’ve been looking at various and more various gloves, have perhaps looked at almost all the ones to consider, and even though these Onx (or why is it onYx?) kept popping up on the side-lines I never stopped to consider them until last mainly because the X just looked too gimmicky in that same ghastly Rival decorative design sort of way. Yet, despite all the rave reviews all the Onx gloves I’ve seen have a huge common manufacturing flaw but I’m not going to say what it is in the same spirit he don’t reveal what his advanced scientific foams exactly are. As a clue, it’s a defect related to the stitching of his magic leather. The second to last pair of gloves I looked at was the Hayabusa distant cousin of this. They are decedents of two different parents: a dumb company that employed scientists to do the research; versus dumb successful mixed martial artists burrowing scientific advances from everywhere else, to come up with stuff -exactly how MMA does to achieve all those so important knock outs. Somehow, those gloves won’t be a huge success the same way his fighting stable are not. Just a whole lot of Ra ra ra. maybewhenyou’retightupintheclinchruBrubRubtheopponentsfacewithalltheXstitching.

    I added a LaceNLoop because I don’t have a slave or squire to tie my gloves for me.

      I just saw the end where you said you can’t use a LaceNLoop. You definitely can as long as you pull the yellow straps first and then tighten the others after with the lacenlop
