Kevin holland is nowhere near that level. His grappling is awful and he’s not the most technical on the feet. Mentally he’s not a winner. He’s fun, rangy, athletic, but far from a champ level fighter.

His technical abilities standing also get covered up by the giant reach and unorthodox combos and movements. I think he’s pretty solid man, could be champ if he took it serious.

I love this video, I think you highlighted something that has emerged especially in the UFC. There are so many talented grapplers who are NOT GRAPPLING. I think the normie hype factor has severely dissuaded a lot of talented grapplers from actually using their skill. It’s so frustrating seeing legit bjj black belts with wrestling credentials literally only use their grappling as a fall back when they’re out on their feet. I think this has been a factor giving rise to the current striker dominated champion roster.

Well a lot of these guys came from a wrestling background so it makes sense. It’s a common theme where great wrestlers fall in love with their fists and end up getting knocked out by a superior striker.

I agree with you on Cejudo and a few others, their need to improve in other areas it´s what made them not being as good in their original martial arts. That´s why Khabib won so much, he was one dimensional and relied on his wrestling only.

I've seen fighters switch gyms that train Wrestling striking etc and they become way better , but as a top 15 or top 50 guy In the world , not as many as you'd think would do it , do it. Crazy
