In case anybody is wondering who "Throwback Entertainment" is, they are an Ontario based company who owns the rights to 190 of Acclaim Entertainment's IP's, which these 2 games were originally published by. And these games were developed by Probe Entertainment and Iguana Entertainment respectively.
Thanks, that's actually really interesting.
Neat!
Why is there not more hype for Extreme-G here?
I never heard of it before. Went to college during the second half of N64's lifespan and gaming then was limited. Looks fun to try though.
Loved that game, put countless hours into it tbh
Because it sucked
And now it's finally in smooth 30 or 60fps. I don't care what others think, I'm loving it 🥳
Excatly
Do they just pick these games out from like a hat or something?
most likely, a replica of mario's hat
Extreme G is a pretty good classic.
@@Spikero2I think they still picked em' out of a hat, and just got lucky to pull a good game. It's the only reason I can come up with for including Iggy's Reckin' Balls.
What's wrong with these games? I know that the remaining Rare titles, Mischief Makers, and Smash 64 are what everyone is demanding right now, and that titles from Acclaim aren't exactly the gold standard, but not every release has to be a quote-unquote heavy-hitter! There's nothing wrong with having the less popular titles. The overrated favorites will get their time eventually.
@@Nathaniel_E_DearingPlus DK 64 and Diddy Kong Racing (those might be included with the Rare games)!
Ok, who aprvproved of the name, "Iggy's Wrecking Balls" lmao
This will single-handedly make this the most successful year the switch has ever scene
Extreme-G was my childhood game, I remember my dad getting a bunch of N64 games from a friend and Extreme-G was one of them. I played it so much of and unlocked everything.
Extreme G unlocked a core memory for me
One day, we'll see Banjo-Tooie be added the N64 Switch Server.
I would be so happy when that happens cause it’s one of the best sequels ever
I sure hope so!
If that happens, I hope Stop n Swop will be fully implemented like with the Xbox Live Arcade version.
And Diddy Kong racing and donkey Kong 64! I’m surprised goldeneye made it on switch before those games! We need perfect dark too on switch.
Some stupid Fortnite fanboy made a vidoe called "Banjo-Tooie is Awful" and I clicked "Not Interested." How sad we've now reached a low point where we're now trashing good games. It's like some people were stupid enough to actually take the Irate Gamer seriously!
I need DK64
Agreed
too bad, they don't want to add it yet
Same
@@terrysyvertson9205 Hopefully it’s soon
And smash 64
EXTREME G!
If Nintendo is willing to add obscure games like these, then where is Mischief Makers? That’s an obscure N64 title I’m interested in.
That's already on there
@@Geomaster97 No, it’s not. They added Jet Force Gemini.
It’s onwed by Enix, aka Square Enix, aka we’d rather do standalone rereleases for maximum profit.
I was about to ask for this
My thoughts exactly! I love Mischief Makers on N64!! ❤
Really hope they eventually add Snowboard Kids and Snowboard Kids 2.
Whenever I think about Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls, it reminds me of that one Peter Knetter video.
Another person knows about patter?!
Same here bud
Holy fuck BABY ENCHILADA!! I'm 32 and just got my new place and saw my poor Iggy's cartridge on the backseat floor of my car lol
😢😢😢
I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER SEE IGGY EVER AGAIN
I was the only kid in school who ever heard of this game
same, played it as a kid and bought it for $5 at blockbuster.
Same, I actually enjoyed this and uniracers. My surprise and pleasure to see this game.
I remember Iggy, especially its soundtrack, a hidden gem
Three things to note:
1. Iggy's Reckin' Balls is said to be a possible inspiration for the Skylander named Wrecking Ball.
2. Just be happy that we're not getting anything from Jaleco again because it's clear that Nintendo fans have something against Jaleco.
3. Extreme G is the closest that we'll get to getting WipEout 64. No way Sony will acknowledge that game's existence for the sake of a rerelease.
I know people are right now complaining about these obscure games coming to the NSO instead of the rest of the games made by Rare, Smash 64, and other stuff, but considering how short the N64 catalogue is in general (a lot of the greatest games in the console are already in there), it was easy to assume they were going to put the obscure games and the hidden gems pretty soon, I see this as a good opportunity to appreciate other titles that not too many people played back then
Honestly I find this exciting for one reason
With evercade's Giga Cart now being a thing I really want the community to work to together to get these, Re-Volt and Extreme-G 2 combined into a single cartridge that would be awesome personally speaking 😅
I am no longer the only owner of a copy of extreme-g in the world
Iggy's Wrecking Ball looks like a hidden gem already. It's GLORIOUSLY stupid and I love it
Finally, balls on NSO
But we don't have Ballz 3D.
100% serious, Iggy's Reckin Balls is lowkey one of my favorite games from my childhood.
I thought Lemmy was the one with the balls.
apparently at one point Iggy and Lemmy were twins so maybe that's how Iggy got the balls
Iggy's Wreckin Balls is a phenomenal game. Figures they'd add it after I get rid of my NSO
Hell if we’re going for obscure n64 games let’s do Snowboard Kids 2 and Chameleon Twist! 😁
Still hopeful for Banjo Tooie, DK 64, Diddy Kong Racing and Smash Bros
Gex❤❤❤
Mickey's Speedway USA by Rare
I remember seeing iggys reckin balls in stores but never played it. This game was released at a time when Iguanas were popular pets. I had a friend with a pet iguana named Iggy.
Us: "Man, it'd be great to see the original Smash Bros on Switch Online."
Nintendo: "How about...no."
I miss the days when we would get games that were more experimental.
You mean indie games. Its rarely 3rd party companies make obscure games anymore.
Oh dang, Extreme G? That's one of the games that I didn't see ever coming to NSO. I owned the second one back in the day. Must have let a friend borrow it and forgot because my copy disappeared decades ago. I can't remember if I ever owned the first Extreme G but I definitely remember that camo colored motorcycle. Neat to have it on NSO now. Wish we could get more lesser known N64 titles like Road Rash 64
I've had this vivid memory from when I was a young child of renting a game from blockbuster about a weird ball creature running along checkerboard pathways in the sky and could never figure out what the hell it was. I can't express how much closure I feel right now knowing the name of that game and having it on my switch. I don't care if it's good or not. It's just so satisfying finally knowing that fever dream was real
Yes! Extreme-G and Iggy's Reckin' Balls are coming to the Nintendo Switch! I remember those n64 video games! Welcome to the nostalgia train.
Iggy's Wrecking Balls reminds me of Sonic Xtreme for some reason...
PRAYING for Space Station Silicon Valley
As if! Take Two Interactive doesn't even care about that game.
Everyone saying these are obscure is an infant. Everyone had these games, had a friend with them, rented them or at least remembers seeing them at the store. Iggys reckin balls was my childhood game aside from DK64 and F zero X. I was not very good at videogames but I was decent at iggys reckin balls somehow 😂 that made it one of my favorites. The soundtrack is awesome too.
So Snowboard Kids might have a shot? Your move, Atlus.
So, two N64 games this month, both from a third-party. It's the first time we got an N64 update specifically for games not made by Nintendo or Rare, which have dominated for the past couple years. Third party titles have been lacking on N64 Online, and I knew some would have to come eventually. Now's as good a time as any for a shift in gears, as there are only a few first-party titles left. People will complain about this, but an increase in third-party titles is nothing to complain about regardless of perceived quality. And at least for one more year, there should be plenty of first-party GBA games to satisfy the hunger. Also, the fact that we got two N64 titles this month leads me to believe that we might not have an N64 release for a couple months in favor of more GBA titles.
Honestly I find this exciting for one reason
With evercade's Giga Cart now being a thing I really want the community to work to together to get these, Re-Volt and Extreme-G 2 combined into a single cartridge that would be awesome personally speaking
I would like to see some third party GBA titles.
Extreme-G is a nice addition. Its developer, Acclaim, went bankrupt years ago, so it's nice that their old products are still playable. I don't know who owns the rights to the series now.
Finally bro I’ve been waiting forever to play these classics!
Omg I thought I'd never see extreme g ever again, I absolutely loved that game as a kid
Nintendo is making a big mistake putting these two games on the N64 app. They should be adding Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64 and/or Banjo-Tooie on there instead. This is just a perfect example of how video game companies today make the dumbest decisions ever. It’s bad enough that Nintendo is so against people pirating their games.
Literally, every video game company is against piracy. It's stealing.
I don’t care what you say, I used to play tons of Iggy’s back in the day! I’m super excited for this!. I know what I’ll be doing tonight after work!
Where is Super Smash Bros., Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, Buck Bumble, Cruis'n World, Castlevania, Hydro Thunder, Bomberman 64, Bomberman Hero, Mega Man 64, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Killer Instinct Gold, Banjo Tooie, Glover, Clay Fighter 6 ⅓ Bust-A-Move 2, Mischief Maker, Mystical Ninja: Starting Goemon, and Namco Museum on Nintendo Switch Online?
We're Akira sliding with this one!
Geez i haven’t heard about Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls since an ass old let’s play from SlimKirby 😂
I never had a chance to play these games originally, so this is awesome!
I know peopke are crying out for games like Smash, DK64 and DKR (I kinda sm as well) but I'm totally down for games like this coming out of left field.
Who thought Iggy would ever get re-released again?
Extreme G was pretty great back in the day but I'd rather play the sequels.
And this why Everyone we have the Delta Emulation…..
I played Extreme-G like crazy back in the day. Loved the techno music.
Extreme g was a hidden gem with a great sound track. However wth is with the controls on the switch.
And everyone was wondering if Nintendo had any unannounced heavy hitters left
Meanwhile I can emulate all these games on a phone 💀
I hear you but it's just not the same as knowing it's a official release
Crazy how I just randomly thought I wanted to play Extreme G again and googled the gameplay for nostalgia's sake, and come to found out the game just came out on Switch. Am so excited to play it again after so many years.
Can they add Uniracers too? Someday, someday…
Pixar says no. Not unless Disney shuts them down.
I’ve never heard of these games but they look fun!
Hell yeah extreme G my childhood is back yet again.
I just need Diddy Kong Racing and i woll be complete.with n64 on NSO
Ngl I kinda of always wanted to play Iggy's WB bc of how weird it looks
Donkey Kong 64? Banjo Tooie? Conker's Bad Fur Day? They already have Banjo Kazooie so we know the Rare games are fair game.
Iggy? That ain't Glover
I actually used to race my brother in Iggys Reckin Balls growing up pretty often. It’s a goofy weird game, weird controls and premise…and yet we played it.
Don't really know why they are choosing these over games like Smash 64.
Smash 64 is honestly way worse of choice let's be honest
The real sore of the situation is diddly kong racing never left the ds days
I lost my virginity to that last song… 😳
Extreme G😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤
My body is ready
Makes me wonder if Space Invaders and Robotron 64 will be available down the line.
*WHERE IN THE ACTUAL HECK ARE ALL THE REST OF RAREWARE GAMES AND MARIO PARTY ADVANCE?!*
Trust you DON'T want mario party advance YOU REALLY DON'T WSNT IT
@@donaldduck73 The minigames seem fun and I love RPGs
Not bad, now for the certain following N64 games to come as well:
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Mickey's Speedway USA (also for GBC)
Banjo-Tooie
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Of course you’d choose rare games
@@EWOODJ Yeah? So?
Loved Extreme GIII, played it an insane amount with ny cousins
Finally, we've been asking for years
I'm glad I sold my switch to get a Steam Deck. I can emulate any N64 game and not unknown crap like this.
_"We don't want this, I never even heard of these games, bring us [Insert game]."_
You should ask that this service gets games faster, so we can have both the famous games we already played and also the hidden gems, even the bad games should be here.
Give us Glover
Were are my ppl who still have hope for DK64?
oh, are we out of first party hits, we're digging into the 3rd party selections? can i recommend Army Men: Sarge's Heroes, Battle Tanx, Space Station Silicon Valley, Bomberman Hero, and Gex?
OMG Army Men: Sarge's Heroes, that game unlock my childhood. So much fun playing that game
Why would I need to play Extreme-G on Switch when I already have the game at home?
Very cool racing games.
Just for the love of god.. give us zero mission and the Kirby remake!!
I'm glad im reminded of Extreme G is remembered but would be nice if Nintendo gave Fzero some proper love besides the nice BR game.
Iggy is hell-a-uva Cursed but gameplay looks fun for a few hours.
I want Mischief Makers and Diddy Kong Racing! ❤🎉
These games are surely additions before the greater content, just to keep the hype while still giving a bit more fun for the NSO players.
Excellent additions! Always heard great things about Iggy, looking forward to giving it a go finally.
I never played iggys so i don't know anything about it but extreme g slapped back in the day. My playstation friends loved to play it when they came over even if i give them my crummy controller. We all want smash 64 but im hyped to play extreme g again.
Still waiting on Diddy Kong Racing...
My god! Including these games by Acclaim just came out of nowhere! Next I suppose they’ll add Clayfighter 63 1/3 to NSO, but I don’t know about that because the looks of Houngan and Kung Pow have aged like fine milk.
Honestly I find this exciting for one reason
With evercade's Giga Cart now being a thing I really want the community to work to together to get these, Re-Volt and Extreme-G 2 combined into a single cartridge that would be awesome personally speaking
Still waiting for Smash 64
Hmm. These Games looks kinda cool what you think, it’s the first time seeing them.
No way they got that ball game
Ever think Nintendo is getting tired of video games?
okay so n64 online isnt dead, bu just starting the filler era.
0:41 I know that voice
Comments are calling these ones useless well I am actually happy for Iggy's Wrecking Balls just because I played it back in its heyday. Not that I blame anyone for not caring since I'd feel the same if I considered it redundant.
Have fond memories of the game and am actually happy to see one of the more obscure ones from the good old days make it onto the service. Will definitely give it a go.
I'm excited for Extreme-G since I grew up playing that game. People are just salty because majority don't know these games like the comments are all "They put these games I never heard of on Nintendo Switch Online and yet they haven't put [insert popular Nintendo 64 game here]?"
IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!
Which?
@@donaldduck73 ballz!
I want Gamon 64 the Mario 64 Clone.
These games over Glover?
Glover is coming soon to evercade physically
Still hoping for the nes version of maniac mansion and where on earth is mario land 1 nintendo!!
Who made up the title for Iggy's Reckin Balls?! 💀
Nintendo realy dont want me to take another year of subscrption.
Buck Bumble when
Two n64 games that’s not Mario or any Nintendo characters
Can't say I ever heard of these games before.
Well, consider this a blessing. Man, let me tell you something, GRIP: Combat Racing on the Switch was the closest racing game on the switch to the Extreme G racing game(s)/series, but this, THIS is the pinnacle of combat racing games. I can't even begin to describe to you the sheer amount of joyful shock that came flooding into me when I saw this announcement.
The Nintendo Switch is a bonafide dream machine. I'm tellin' ya' dude, with Paper Mario going back to its roots, the 2D Super Mario Bros series being creative again, Super Mario RPG getting revived, and Princess Peach finally getting a brand new game, Banjo-Kazooie getting revived also (with more unexpected surprises to come) and so much more, it's abundantly clear that without Nintendo making the switch (literally and figuratively), things would've been very different, and not in a good way. Thank GOD that's not the case here.
One day Nintendo will add the Pokémon games to the NSO
The fact that they didn’t put at least red and blue on NSO. for the last couple Pokémon days tells me they probably have no plans to release them.
